Tout d'abord, je me présente : Je m'appelle Déborah, j'ai 20 [ Bientôt 21 ] Je ne suis plus étudiante, je n'ai aucun emploi stable, et j'ai surtout et c'est ce qui m'amène ici, un rêve de petite fille. Celui de quitter la France pour aller vivre aux États-unis, et plus précisément, à Los Angeles. Dernièrement, j'y ai beaucoup songé, et je pense que le moment est opportun pour entamer mes premières démarches. Comme par exemple demander des informations, à des personnes ayant peut-être vécu la même "aventure" que celle que je désirerais vivre. Je sais bien évidement que la tâche n'est pas des plus aisé, mais la détermination vient à bout de tout, j'en suis convaincue ! Je suis consciente que trouver un employer, n'ai pas choses aisé. D'autant que je ne suis pas bilingue. J'ai les bases en anglais, et je me débrouille à peut-près bien, pour les choses simples. Ce qui, évidement, ne me facilite pas la tâche. Ce que je recherche ici, ce sont des personnes, qui sauront me conseiller, m'expliquer leur vécu si tenté qu'ils vivent une expérience similaire. M'expliquer les bases, s'il y a des choses à savoir, des explications importantes etc ... Je vous remercie d'avance de l'attention que vous me porterez.
Mon conseil : fille au pair !! C'est à mon avis la meilleure solution, visa facile à obtenir, tu vis en immersion dans une famille, tu as droit à des cours pour perfectionner ton anglais. C'est une bonne expérience pour découvrir un pays et savoir si ça te plairait vraiment d'y vivre. Par contre, tu ne seras peut être pas à LA !! ce qui n'est pas plus mal car c'est très loin de l'image que l'on peut en avoir via les films et séries ....
Tient d'ailleurs, pourquoi rêves-tu de vivre à LA ?

Effectivement fille au pair est pas mal la solution pour toi qui ne parle pas anglais. Mais sache que tu ne peux pas choisir la ville où tu vivras, alors tu peux autant te retrouver à L.A. ou New York, que dans une petite ville perdue en Oregon, Maine ou Tennessee 😉
Autre chose, avant de partir comme fille au pair, il faut t'assurer que tu aimeras ce travail, car tu trouveras ça très pénible autrement!

J'avais déjà pensé à 'Fille au pair' c'était une solution qui m'avait l'air plutôt pas mal, mais il faut que j'en sache plus. Que je me renseigne sur ce qui en est.
Pour répondre à vôtre question sur pourquoi L.A, Je ne saurais vraiment l'expliquer, probablement que la télévision y a joué un rôle, mais depuis ma plus tendre enfance, j'ai pour rêve d'y vivre. Comme une évidence.
Savez-vous comment faire pour trouver une "famille au pair" ?
Je ne savais pas qu'il était impossible de choisir l'endroit, mais peut-importe, j'aurais probablement l'occasion de voyager, et qui sais, plus tard peut-être finir par aller habiter dans la ville de mes rêves.
Dans un premier temps, ça ne me déplairais pas d'aller vivre dans un petit bled pommé des États-Unis, au contraire, cela peut s'avérer très enrichissant !
par contre, New-York m'attire beaucoup moins ! Ville trop affluente à mon gout !

Tu peux t'inscrire sur ce site (clique ici). Tu pourras ainsi proposer tes services aux familles cherchant une au-pair française et accepter telle ou telle autre proposition.
Personnellement, c'est comme ça que ma femme "recrute" nos filles au-pair depuis plusieurs années (nous on choisit alternativement des jeunes filles de plusieurs régions du monde pour que les enfants soient habitués à l'accent canadien, australien, anglais, américain, ...).

Je ne mets pas en doute les propos de Nikky mais c'est la première fois que j'entends dire qu'on ne peut pas choisir !!! Tu es libre d'accepter ou de ne pas accepter une proposition ! Enfin, pour ma famille, ma femme a quelques fois choisi une au-pair qui a refusé.
Elles sont aux US mais ont des agences un peu partout, donc en France aussi. Ne t'inscrits que dans une agence qui travaille avec ces organisations, sinon, tu vas perdre ton temps et ton argent.
Les US font tellement rêver, il y a beaucoup de demandes, donc beaucoup d'arnaques !!

My name is Deborah, I’m French. I’m married and have two children. I’m a clinical psychologist specializing in psychotraumatology, and I’m also pursuing medical studies.
For some time now, I’ve been seriously considering moving to the United States. My long-term goal is to practice medicine in the U.S., with a particular interest in forensic pathology. I know the journey is demanding (USMLE, residency, fellowship, etc.), but I’m ready to commit to several years of hard work.

Our departure time is getting closer (we have less than 2 years left—it’s both a long time and so short!). To start preparing seriously, we’ll need quite a bit of info. If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
Are there any special requirements before leaving France (aside from taxes...)?

Actually, I’m currently doing a postgraduate diploma in pediatric respiratory physiotherapy and want to specialize in that area.
