Je suis toute nouvelle sur le site et aprés beaucoup de recherches je me tourne vers vous pour enfin avoir, je l'espère, des réponses concrètes et du vécu de votre part!!
J'ai 32 ans, je suis mariée, et j'ai 2 enfant de 8 et 4 ans, et avec mon mari nous voulons plus que tout partir vivre aux USA. Aprés plusieurs voyages aux USA nous avons choisi San Diégo, mais nous sommes amoureux de la Côte Ouest en général!!!
Je suis responsable en ressources humaines depuis 11 ans et mon mari est cuisinier. Je parle un bon anglais.
Voilà pour la description!!! En fait je me suis beaucoup renseigné sur les visas etc mais c'est bien compliqué, c'est pourquoi j'aurais voulu savoir si des personnes qui me liront pourrons m'aider, quelqu'un s'est-il déjà lancé comme nous avons l'intention de le faire? Nous envisageons de prendre nos économies et de partir avec un simple visa et de trouver là-bas du boulot et ensuite faire notre visa de travail.
Pour les enfants et malgré le prix nous pensons les mettre à l'école française pour la première année vu qu'ils ne parlent pas anglais.
J'espère que vous pourrez m'apporter beaucoup de conseils, nous en sommes au début de nos démarches, nous nous donnons 2 ou 3 ans pour bien nous préparer alors tous les conseils sont bon à prendre!!!
Nous envisageons de prendre nos économies et de partir avec un simple visa et de trouver là-bas du boulot et ensuite faire notre visa de travail.

ce n'est pas possible
le visa s'obtient avant ton depart avec un employeur qui te sponsorise et le processus est cher pour l'entreprise donc a moins de justifier d'un savoir/competence introuvable aux states ca ne sera pas possible
1/ regarde sur ce forum: tu as deja des reponses.
2/ regarde sur le site de l'ambassade pour plus d'infos.
3/ tu ne peux pas venir travailler aux US avec un visa de tourisme.
4/ tu dois trouver un boite US ou autres prete a t'embaucher et a te sponsorise pour un visa de travail: il faut que tu es des 'competences' qu'un americain n'aurait pas pour ce poste! (ex: ton mari est un 'chef reconnu' =competences francaises).
en ce moment c'est plutot dur, les societes US privilegient les americains (bcp de chomeurs!) et les gens en Green Card; l'immigration est tres regardante sur les dossiers proposes par les societes.
5/ vous pouvez investir et monter votre societe (visa E: investisseur): oui il faut pas mal de $$ et un bon business plan.
6/ vous pouvez jouer a la loterie de la green card (c'est gratuit et a lieu en automne).

Merci pour toutes ces réponses qui nous aident à avancer un peu plus sur notre projet qui est pour dans deux ou trois ans.
Il est vrai qu'investir dans un restaurant serait peut être la meilleure des solutions, on y pense vu qu'on en a un ici.
A méditer, mais en tout cas merci et bonne continuation.
Le problème est vaste, je me suis posée les mêmes questions, et malheureusement les réponses mentionnées ci-dessus sont toutes exactes. Je suis partie deux ans aux USA, et moi aussi je rêve de partir y vivre...mais pas possible. J'ai moi aussi un diplome en RH, mais ça court un peu les rues là bas. Par contre, si vous avez déjà un resto, la solution idéale serait de créer une filiale et de l'implanter là bas, et d'être ainsi vos propres expatriés! Sinon, sans visa de travail, c'est mission impossible.
Pour l'école, les enfants sont flexibles surtout à cet âge. Les mettre dans une école américaine leur permettrait d'apprendre l'anglais beaucoup plus rapidement, et de s'intégrer aussi. Après, tout dépend de vos projets d'avenir, à savoir si vous comptez rentrer ou pas. Si oui, l'école française est alors la seule solution, les diplômes américains n'étant pas reconnus en France.

c'est clair que si nous partons nous espérons beaucoup y rester, mais il me semble que la seule solution va être une création d'entreprise mais ça nous fait peur de commencer directement par là!!
j'ai également comme solution par mon entreprise de faire une formation professionnelle et j'ai pensé à faire une équivalence d'institutrice pour peut être pouvoir partir et enseigner le français.
on cherche toutes les possibilités mais vu d'ici ça paraît bien difficile!!
comme vous semblez vivre aux étas unis et être bien renseigné, j'aurai voulu savoir si il est possible d inscrire des enfants dans une école américaine pour un an alors que nous, parents, nous ne travaillons pas ( vu la difficulté à le faire... )
pour vivre 1 an aux US, il faut avoir un visa de 'non immigrant' (visa de travail, d'etudes, de stage par ex)ou 'd'immigrant' (la green card par ex).😉
sans ces visas, vous ne pouvez pas vivre 'legalement' ici et mettre vos enfants a l'ecole.
vous pouvez regarder du cote visa de tourisme (6 mois, renouvelable 1 fois pour 6 mois), mais la je ne pense pas que vos enfants puissent integrer une ecole.
apres, vos enfants peuvent venir en famille d'accueil, obtenir un visa etudiant, et la oui integrer une ecole.😉

la solution serait un visa tourisme renouvelée 2 fois et l'autorisation de scolariser les enfants en leur assurant de notre départ car je suppose que les autorités craignent qu' en scolarisant les enfants, nous ayons pour projet de rester;
je vais aller sur le site de l ambassade. merci encore pour les infos ( avec eux coté info, ce sera surement moins rapide qu avec toi..)

Avec mon époux, nous avons le projet -qui commence à prendre forme-, d'acheter une maison soit à Santa Barbara soit à L.A (notre choix n'est pas encore arrêté) sommes en pourparlers avec Agents immobilier.
Nous avions justement l'idée de faire une demande de Visa tourisme 6 mois et le faire renouveler chaque année🙂 car notre idée est d'ici quelques années, de vivre 6 mois dans notre maison aux USA et 6 mois dans notre maison en France.
Or, si je vous suis bien, le Visa tourisme ne serait renouvelable qu'une seule fois ??!! 😠😕 et après ?
Il y a quelques années mon mari a eut un Visa de travail, certes a ce jour il ne l'a plus🙁 est-il possible qu'il soit dans le fichier de l'administration Américaine ?
si oui, cela nous aiderait-il pour l'obtention d'un Visa renouvelable annuellement ?

Bonjour, pour ma part je pense que vous devriez essaye de trouver un travail par rapport a votre mari qui est cuisinier..Si il a un bon CV il peut trouver un resto francais(ou autre) qui lui proposerer un visa ( payer ou non), par contre pour vous en tant que sa femme vous auriez le droit de rester mais pas de travailler, et le salaire d'un chef ici par rapport au frais de location appart, et surtout ecole francaise pour 2 enfants, je suis desole mais cela ne sera pas assez pour survivre.L'ecole et l'assurance sante ici est extremement cher, il faut prevoir 2 emplois ferme.San Diego est une ville formidable, je vous souhaite le meuilleur dans votre continuation 🙂

Concernant l'assurance santé je n'ai pas du tout idée des tarifs, vous serait-il possible de m'éclairer?! Et vous avez-vous la chance de vivre là-bas? Comment y êtes-vous arrivé? tout m'intéresse, nous sommes tellement motivés et désireux de faire le grand saut!!
San Diego est une jolie ville, surtout du côté du port ...
Lors de votre visite je vous recommande Point Loma, de là vous avez une superbe vue sur le Pacifique.
Pour le reste, c'est hélas bien uthopique, car les US ont réellement fermés leur frontière et l'obtention de visa et totalement dépendant d'un contrat de travail, ce contrat ne peut être obtenu que très difficilement, à savoir si vous êtes sur un marché où la demande est importante et surtout qu'un Américain ne puisse assurer le poste, et là ce n'est pas gagné !
Ou alors être un investisseur et un créateur d'emplois pour les américains,
Ou encore être super diplomé d'une grande école d'Ingénieur, HEC et autres ...
De toutes les manières, présenter un profil avec à la clé des diplomes de grandes écoles reconnues (Sorbonne par exemple)
Autre solution pour visa 6 mois renouvelable : devenir propriétaire immobilier, et là encore, vous devrez prouver vos moyens financiers pour subvenir à vos besoins lorsque vous êtes sur le territoire.
Mais celà ne vous donnera pas pour autant le droit de travailler.
Pour l'aspect sécurité sociale, il s'agit de contrat privé, pour un couple (sans enfant) suivant le contrat et les garanties, il faut compter un minimum de 1.000$/mois.
Pour l'aspect location appart, là encore il est demandé en tout premier lieu le visa et carte de sécurité sociale. Les tarifs varient en fonction du lieu, les prix de San Diego ne sont pas les prix de L.A, mais faut bien savoir qu'il y a les bons coins et les autres ...

Our departure time is getting closer (we have less than 2 years left—it’s both a long time and so short!). To start preparing seriously, we’ll need quite a bit of info. If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).

Actually, I’m currently doing a postgraduate diploma in pediatric respiratory physiotherapy and want to specialize in that area.
