Bonjour, j'ai 17ans et je suis lycéen (1ere S) . Je ne sais pas vraiment ce que je veux faire plus tard. J'aimerais bien travailler dans le commerce international mais je ne pense pas avoir le niveau, enfin pour l'instant (11 de moyenne, je passe en Term S normalement mais bon mon dossier n'est pas excellent pour entrer dans une grande école de commerce). C'est pourquoi, je me demande si je ne ferais pas mieux en travaillant dans l'hôtellerie/restauration, j'adorerais travailler partout dans le monde, notamment à New York. Mais j'ai souvent entendu dire autour de moi que la restauration aux Etats-Unis était moins bien reconnu qu'en France. Je voudrais avoir vos avis à ce sujet.
1°) Pour faire du commerce international, il n'y a pas que les grandes écoles de commerce !
Avec un cursus à l'université, c'est tout-à-fait possible (ex: licence d'économie-gestion, puis spécialisation en commerce international ensuite), ou même avec un BTS (BTS commerce international, ça existe !)...
Donc de nombreuses portes te sont ouvertes, même avec un dossier "moyen" (psstt ! un bac S en plus ! 😉). Renseigne-toi sur les formations qui existent, par exemple sur le site de l'Onisep (c'est un début, à toi d'approfondir ensuite) :www.onisep.fr ou passe voir ta C.O.P. au lycée (je sais, je sais... mais c'est un début ! 😛)...
2°) Si tu comptes passer par l'hôtellerie-restauration pour faire du commerce internationale ensuite, ce n'est vraiment pas le bon cursus ! Avant de t'engager dans cette voie, renseigne-toi bien sur les métiers de l'hôtellerie-restauration !
J'enseigne dans cette filière, et je peux te dire qu'il vaut mieux savoir à quoi s'attendre, connaître les contraintes des métiers et des études, avant de s'y engager... La réelle motivation pour ces métiers est le seul gage de réussite.
idem pour ce qui est du Tourisme (si jamais cela t'avait aussi traversé l'esprit -> voir notamment une discussion sur le sujet sur ce forum)...
3°) Maintenant, si ta volonté est simplement de voyager, de travailler de par le monde, et que tu es prêt à t'engager dans cette voie, l'hôtellerie-restauration est un secteur qui t'offrira ces opportunités... oui.
Envisage alors une année de MAN pour entrer en BTS...
4°) C'est indéniable que le savoir-faire français en matière d'hôtellerie-restauration est reconnu dans le monde entier...
Maintenant, celui qui travaille chez Ducasse à New-York, crois-tu vraiment qu'il soit moins bon que celui qui travaille chez Ducasse à Paris ? J'en doute ! Ou plutôt, je sais que non : ils sont recrutés sur les mêmes critères, pour faire le même métier.
De même, toutes les grandes chaînes internationales d'hôtels ont des standards identiques dans le monde entier ; exemple : tu auras le même service (et donc le même travail à fournir, le même savoir-faire) au Hilton de Paris, New York, Le Cap ou Shangai...
Et avec Ducasse et Hilton, je ne t'ai donné que 2 exemples (dans le "haut de gamme", certes !)... Le tout est de comparer des choses comparables (exemple : ne me cite pas le travail chez McDo comme de la restauration à comparer avec les serveurs et cuisiniers de nos petits restaurants traditionnels ou gastronomiques... 😠😉)
Voilà quelques pistes de réflexion que je peux te proposer aujourd'hui.

Sinon, est-ce que le coût des études est élevé si j'envisage des études dans l'hôtellerie-restauration ? car pour les grandes écoles de commerce, c'est très très cher... emes parents ne sont pas prêts à débourser une somme énorme pour mes études et je ne pense pas avoir accés aux bourses d'études étant donné mon niveau.

Un BTS est une formation proposée dans les lycées publics ! Donc "gratuite" ! 🙂

il te faudra payer ta cantine quand même 😄 ... éventuellement l'internat ou un logement si tu es loin de chez toi...
et s'inscrire en hôtellerie-restauration nécessite un minimum d'investissement indispensable : les tenues professionnelles de restaurant et de cuisine, la malette de couteaux, et très souvent un ou deux "costumes" (chaussures de ville, pantalon à pince, veste assortie, chemise, cravate) en guise d'uniforme imposé par de nombreux lycées... Cet investissement de départ te servira longtemps, bien au-delà de ta scolarité, pour ta vie professionnelle future.
Bon, a-priori il y a 2 lycées sur l'académie de Rennes qui proposent le BTS Hôtellerie-restauration : Quimper et Dinard... tu trouveras les coordonnées sur le dernier lien ci-dessus... comme toutes celles de tous les lycées de France ! y compris le mien 🙂 (je pourrais t'en faire la pub en MP si tu veux 😏)... et à ta question sur les meilleurs, certains sont effectivement plus réputés que d'autres, mais les formations sont les mêmes (même programme, même examen...) avec des professeurs issus de mêmes formations (tous fonctionnaires !), et qui proposent autant de stages dans le même type d'établissements...
Quelques précisions supplémentaires tout de suite :
- MAN = Mise A Niveau = 1 année d'études nécessaire à ceux qui viennent d'un bac non-hôtelier avant d'entrer en BTS hôtellerie... ce qui revient à dire que tu feras le BTS en 3 ans au lieu des 2 classiques.
- les bourses d'enseignement supérieur n'ont rien à voir avec ton niveau scolaire ! Et même si tu n'es pas boursier actuellement en lycée, n'hésite pas à faire la demande pour tes études supérieures : elles sont fonction des revenus de tes parents, mais les barèmes sont complètement différents.
- si tu es vraiment fort en langues, tu peux même envisager un BTS hôtellerie en section européenne, ça existe !

Je vais me rendre sur les sites et dès que j'ai une question je t'envois un message en privé, je pense (après mûres réflexions lol) que je vais m'orienter dans l'hôtellerie-restauration en tant que manager, enfin je vais essayer d'en savoir un peu plus sur ce métier. Je te tiens au courant dès qu'il y a du changement.
Je vais aussi suivre ton conseil de professeur, autrement dit, commencer les révisions pour le bac de Francais car pour l'instant, je suis un peu dans la "#-['~# si tu vois ce que je veux dire...lol

je suis très intéressé par un BAC techno hôtellerie (pour ensuite finaliser par un BTS),
mais avant d'effectuer un stage à l'étranger, je voudrais avoir des avis sur les formations au niveau du BAC techno.
J'ai le choix entre le lycée de DINAR (très côté) mais plus loin de mon domicile ( 2 h 30 de voiture) ou le lycée de Quimper (privé mais à 1 h de voiture).
Est-ce important pour ma future carrière, le lieu de formation ?

Je ne connais personnellement ni l'un, ni l'autre de ces deux lycées.
Mais franchement, de ce que j'ai pu observer et vivre en lle-de-France, lycée public ou lycée privé... pas de grande différence dans la qualité de l'enseignement. En tout cas, pas en bac technologique.
Une chose est sûre : tu ne pourras pas te permettre 2h30 de route pour aller et pour revenir du lycée chaque jour ! Il faudra être logé sur Dinar.
Ton choix s'effectuera donc plus sur des contraintes financières et logistiques.
Un conseil néanmoins :
Demande ton inscription dans ces 2 lycées, fais les démarches correctement pour les deux, pour mettre toutes tes chances de ton côté : les places sont très recherchées en lycée hôtelier (qu'il soit public ou privé) et les demandes nombreuses... tous n'y entrent donc pas.
Si les 2 lycées t'acceptent au final, il sera alors temps de se poser concrètement le problème du choix.

Non, je n'en connais pas aux USA. Et je doute que ton bac pro te donne une quelconque équivalence là-bas. Quant à savoir s'il existe l'équivalent du BTS hôtellerie français aux USA, là encore, aucune idée (et j'en doute - par contre, cela existe dans plusieurs pays européens, anglophones notamment).

Essaie du côté des associations d'aide aux étudiants et jeunes pour les USA ; tu devrais pouvoir en trouver sur Internet et elles devraient pouvoir te renseigner.
