Nous sommes partis l'année dernière en Martinique 15 jours du 1er aout au 15, on a eu un peu de pluie mais bon ça passe vite. Est ce que c'est la même chose avec Miami et Cancun ?
J'ai regardé sur Tripadvisor les avis des gens qui étaient au Club Med de Cancun et ils ne parlent pas du tout du gros ouragan qu'il y a eu mi ou fin août.
Nous aimerions partir à Cancun au Club Med ou à Miami pendant 2 semaines. L’objectif étant de se reposer et de visiter un peu.
Le mexique c'est l'option club pour ne rien faire et se reposer.
Miami, c'est pour la ville, la plage, bref des vacances avec de belles plages et voir si le pays nous plait. Est - ce que ça de l'intérêt de rester là bas 15 jours et de se poser ? Nous prendions un airbnb 15 jours et à la rigueur on louerait une voiture quelques jours.
Est ce qu'il faut compter un gros budget pour les repas ?
Mais tout dépend de la météo. Nous aimerions un retour si certains sont allés à Miami ou la Floride et Cancun durant le mois d'août.

Miami se visite en 2jours, les environs peuvent te prendre 2jours de plus (1journée A/R pour les Everglades, 1journée pour du magasinnage à l'outlet de Sawgrass Mill). Eventuellement une journée supplémentaire pour découvrir la partie Nord de Miami : Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach.

Merci pour ta réponse, en fait ce qui m'inquiète c'est que l'année dernière il y a eu de gros ouragans et ça peut bien sur gâcher les vacances. Malheureusement on a pas le choix que de partir en août pour les vacances et comme on a envie d'être dans la zone amérique ^^
Oui l'objectif c'est de la plage du repos et du fun mais nous ne sommes pas fêtards dans le sens que nous ne buvons pas d'alcool :)

Oui ! Nous y étions l'an dernier du 28juillet au 13août et c'est globalement ce que nous avons véçu. Par contre, pas souvenir de gros ouragans sur cette période

Je demande pour les température car mon épouse a eu un coup de chaud le 1er jour en Martinique cad le 2 août dernier.
C'est noté. Pour le moment on est plus orienté sur Cancun On réfléchit à un stop de 3 jours à Miami :) comme ça on pourrait faire les 2.

Nous avons quitté le Mexique (région de Cancun) l'an passé vers le 3 juin. Le temps a souvent été nuageux avec une ou deux averses sans que cela soit réellement gênant. Avec souvent un epu de vent de la mer, chaud, mais agréable. Pour plus tard dansla saison, pas d'autres infos, désolé.
Pour l'Ouragan d'aout dernier, peut-être parles-tu de Franklin.
Il est passé sur le Yucatan en passant à l'est, sur Chetumal, et Cancún n'a pas été impacté, peut-être simplement par des vents un peu forts. C'était une tempête tropicale qui s'est renforcé en Ouragan cat. 1 en abordant le Golfe du Mexique du coté de Veracruz. Càd après avoir traversé le yucatan et rejoint la mer de l'autre coté.
Peut-être aussi pour cela que les voyageurs d'aout 2017 à Cancún n'ont pas eu plus de ressenti que cela.

I’ve planned a three-week itinerary for this summer, from August 9 to 27, in Sri Lanka:
Negombo – 1 night
Sigiriya and the Cultural Triangle – 4 nights
Kandy – 2 nights
Ella – 3 nights
Tangalle – 6 nights
Colombo Airport – 1 night
I know this isn’t the ideal time for the south since the beach conditions aren’t great, but we’ve booked a hotel with a pool and won’t be swimming in the sea. We want to relax after all the travel since we’re bringing our two kids, aged 6 and 8.
I know the east would be better, but (i) I’m struggling to find suitable accommodation, and (ii) it adds a lot of travel time, and my kids can only handle about 3 hours at a stretch.
I looked into Arugam Bay, but it’s a 7-hour trip back to Colombo from there.
I’ve checked every weather site imaginable, but they don’t all agree. Do you think we’ll spend our whole trip in the rain, or is the monsoon in the south mostly limited to the sea, as I’ve read?
I’m worried about ending up in the middle of a natural disaster with my two young kids, given recent events.

We’re more drawn to the Andes, exploring colonial cities, typical villages, markets, and a bit of the coast. We’ve already gotten a taste of this in Bolivia, Colombia, and Chile. Plus, we’d love to do part of it by car since we’re used to driving at our own pace and stopping whenever we feel like it. Anyway, time’s running out, and I need to decide so I can finalize a route and book the tickets!!

I’d love to hear from people who’ve visited the country and these cities during this period—basically, is it not as bad as it sounds, or should we just cancel our tickets (we don’t mind the heat, it’s mostly the rain that scares us).
I know there are plenty of indoor activities, but do you think we’ll still manage to get a few sunny days, or will it be torrential rain for our entire 2-week trip?
The only other country we’ve visited during the rainy season is Brazil (in the northeast) around the same time, and honestly, aside from a few really annoying downpours, we had sunshine most of the time and it was awesome. That said, the climate is totally different, so I’m not sure how relevant the comparison is.

Personally, I see a promising opportunity here—jumping on this adaptation to extreme climates before others do, since they’re inevitably coming.
From my own travel experience, I’ve met a few guides so far who are starting to adjust, like in Egypt, Kenya, Senegal, and elsewhere.
They avoid crowds and the hottest hours by starting their tours around 6–7 AM, when it’s cooler.
Yeah, you’ve gotta wake up early, but the payoff is so worth it. 😴
If you’ve got any great tips like this, why not discuss them in this thread and share addresses or websites where the people in charge have realized climate change is real and are adapting? 😊
