J'aurais besoin de différents avis. Je suis actuellement en master 2 marketing et consommation à l'IAE de Rouen et je nen suis jamais partie à l'étranger. A la fin de mon master je nourris le projet de partir un an comme jeune fille au pair en prenant des cours de marketing (prévu dans le programme de jeune fille au paire quelques heures par semaines). J'en ai parlé à ma prof et elle me le déconseille car je risque de ne pas trouver d'emploi après en revenant puisque les nouveaux diplômés seront privilégiés et que je n'aurais pas d'expérience à part mon stage de 6 mois. qu'en pensez vous dois-je partir ou plutôt rester? Il n'y a pas de cours de marketing de prévu dans le programme au pair.
Tu as une bourse de 500$ pour suivre des cours, mais avec 500$ tu ne vas pas loin....
Pour ma fille (à Seattle, en 2006) les 500$ lui ont tout juste permis de se payer des cours du soir d'Anglais pendant quelques mois (2h par semaine) dans un Community College. Il y avait principalement des Mexicains qui ne parlaient pas Anglais....
Tu as la possibilité de te payer des cours de marketing. Je ne sais pas combien ça peut couter, mais les 500$ ne suffiront pas. Surtout si tu veux suivre les cours pendant 1 année.
Le choix des cours se fera surtout en fonction de l'endroit où tu seras et de ton emploi du temps (cours du soir si tu travailles toute la journée...)
Etre au pair, c'est avant tout s'occuper d'enfants (maxi 45h/semaine, 5 jours/7....).
Pour les cours tu ne peux rien prévoir. Il faut attendre d'être sur place.
Si ton année de marketing est ta priorité, tu t'inscris dans une fac américaine pendant 1 an, mais le prix ne sera pas le même.
Dsl pour mon temps de réponse. En fait j'aurais déjà un master dans le marketing et je voudrais améliorer mon anglais et continuer à pratiquer la marketing en parallèle. J'ai trouvé un programme qui pourrait correspondre à mes attentes: educare (6h de cours de marketing par semaine 30h de garde) mais je n'ai pas trouvé de retour sur ce programme (est-on diplômé à la fin, quelle fac fait ce programme...) quelqu'un pourrait-il me renseigner?

Tu trouveras quelques renseignements sur le forum des au pairs aux USA, dans la rubrique :

Seuls quelques organismes le proposent.
Après il faut trouver des familles intéressées.... Car l'au pair, même si elle est moins payée (75% du tarif normal), ne travaille que 30h par semaine et la bourse est de 1000$ environ, au lieu de 500$ pour le programme classique....

Au pair in America (APIA) revient souvent dans les forums d'au pairs. Les 2 autres, je ne connais pas.
Et pose la question sur le forum des au pairs. Tu auras certainement des retours. Si le programme existe c'est qu'il y a de la demande.
Mais si tu te décides pour ce programme, prends ton temps pour choisir ta famille, parce qu'en cas de problème je ne sais pas si un rematch sera facile.... (même programme, même ville.... pas évident).
Pourquoi ne cherches tu pas un contrat V.I.E qui te permettrait d'avoir de l'experience a l'etranger et dans ton domaine surtout apres un M2. Pour info les Etats Unis avec la Chine sont les pays ou il y a le plus de V.I.E.

J'ai été fille au pair en 2009. Tu ne pourras pas suivre des cours de marketing avec ta bourse de 500$, en effet j'ai voulu moi même prendre des cours de comptabilité mais lorsque j'ai annoncé que j'avais un visa J-1 le tarif n'était plus le même autrement dit très élevé. Ton visa au pair te permettra juste de prendre des cours ESL c'est à dire d'anglais (expression écrite, business english, oral et autres).
Ensuite je ne suis pas d'accord avec ta prof, l'expérience de partir en tant que fille au pair est un réel plus sur ton CV. Pour te donner un exemple, quand je suis rentrée en france pour faire mon bts j'ai trouvé mon patron seulement grâce à mon expérience aux USA. Ensuite j'ai été diplômé et il y a quelques semaines je cherchais mon 1er emploi. Il m'a fallu seulement 3 semaines pour décrocher un CDI et encore une fois grâce en grande partie à mon expérience aux USA. En effet, il recherchait quelqu'un parlant anglais et ayant été vraiment immergé et de plus le fait de partir seule loin de tout à l'aventure plait enormément aux recruteurs.
Pour le programme Educare tu n'es pas diplômé à la fin de ton année, tu as une sorte de certificate mais pas à tous les coups. Il est aussi beaucoup plus difficile de trouver une famille avec ce programme. Je serais toi je garderais le programme au pair qui selon moi est une très bonne expérience à vivre !

Je suis actuellement fille au pair, près de Miami. J'y suis depuis un an et j'étends pour 6 mois de plus ;).
Pour les cours, tu peux prendre énormément de cours différents (du maquillage à la création d'entreprise), il faut regarder dans la rubrique "continuing education" des universités ou community college (moins cher). La majorité sont en cours du soir ou samedi matin donc en général les au pairs sont dispo à ce moment là. En ce moment je fais une formation de wedding and event planner, à la fin de la formation j'aurai le diplôme officiel! Au début de mon année j'ai pris des cours de portugais. N'écoute pas les gens qui disent que tu ne peux prendre que des cours d'anglais, si tu cherches un peu tu as vraiment beaucoup de choses intéressantes! Et dans les colleges les prix sont les mêmes pour tout le monde.
Sinon je pense qu'une année à l'étranger te sera très très bénéfique surtout qu'être fille au pair c'est vraiment la seule solution pour parler anglais (sauf si tu restes qu'avec des français bien sûr). Ici je ne parle jamais français, sauf avec la seule amie française que j'ai. D'ailleurs je commence à perdre mon français!
Bref, si tu veux vraiment améliorer ton anglais, fais le! Mais attention au choix de la famille, pose vraiment toutes les questions avant!
