The law in the
Philippines are in place to say NO you cant drive a Motorcycle or even a scooter under 50CC without indorcement on the license that says so, for example OK to operate, non professional, 1-car, 2- motorcycle, 3- truck over 14tons, ect,
BUT
you as a foreigner coming here will have no problem renting anything you desire, even without an international Driving permit. as long as you have a valid drivers licence, they have no idea if in AUSSI you need an endorsement. and they don't care.
The other side of the coin is the fine police officers interpret the law any way they like, you have a 99% chance of having no problem at all, the officers here LOVE to be respected, show absolutely no attitude and you will just be on your way!
unlike in America attitude or not your chances your going to get cited is 90%
there is a national Helmet law here I highly suggest you wear one with proper protective clothing, I see a lot of visitors walking around with 4X4 gauze bandages up and done their knees and elbows, just ask Paul the owner of this forum, AKA skid mark, I am no exception, I have wore the bandage of honor many times, there is not much more painful than road rash, it covers a vast area of nerve endings. it can really spoil a good holiday
Watch out here, ride as if everything and everyone is out to get you, with that said I think its the greatest place to ride in the world and I have riddin all over the world.
