On est parti du 3 mai au 4 juin ! on a eu juste une seule matinée de neige à Yellowstone c'était magique, ma copine faisait que de dire que se serait bien de voir Yellowstone sous la neige et puis le derniers jours en allant au petit dej on a eu 20 cm de neige :)
Le voyage a pas été crevant, j'étais plus crevé l'année dernière en faisant la boucle classique en 21 jours. Pour rejoindre la floride on prit l'avion à Vegas ! un equinox pour l'ouest , un compass pour la floride et les deux derniers jours une mustang.

Oui c'est bien ça :) Petrified forest et canyon de chelly , j'ai pas aimé petrified forest je pensais que les arbres étaient vraiment énorme et puis faire ce parc juste après Havasupai ça fait un choc quoi :)

J'aime beaucoup tes photos de Mesa Arch. Nous n'avons pas pu y être au lever du soleil parce que nous avons fait la randonnée "Negro Bill Canyon" le matin. Nous avons fait la balade qui mène à Mesa Arch en fin d'après-midi, cela donne des couleurs différentes.

Pour Mesa arch on s'est levé à 4h30 pour partir à 4h45 5h et arriver vers 5h30 5h45, à cette heure la il y a 10 à 15 personnes mais se sont surtout des photographes donc le lieu est respecté et le silence est roi :)
Mesa arch est tout simplement sublime lors du sunrise :) Après on est allé faire False Kiva une rando qui n'est pas sur la carte tout simplement magique pas un bruit ! pas une personne ! on était seul au monde !

C'est musselman arch :) faut descendre la shafer trail, et au lieu de tourner pour aller vers la potashe road vous allez tout droit et 20 min plus tard il y a le parking de cette arche, on peut marcher dessus ça fait tout drôle il doit y avoir 150m de vide en dessous :) mais elle fait 2m de large, on voit cette arche dans la vidéo
Beau boulot, superbe vidéo (dommage pour ma musique que je déteste car pas du tout mon style).

Toujours un plaisir tes images Mister. Dommage que je n'ai pu partager avec vous le Hellfest cette année. Because big trip US et Sturgis en août alors il faut contrôler les sousous in the pocket et ne pas être trop gourmand.

Superbes photos de l'arche au sunrise... quant à Yellowstone c'est un de mes endroits préférés mais je n'ai jamais pu voir des ours. Déception ! Vous avez eu beaucoup de chance. Allez, encore quelques belles images pour rêver en attendant le départ ? (J - 15...)

Pour le grizzly on était à 25 ou 30m assis sur le bord de la route :) On l'a observé pendant 1h30 il dormait se grattait se retournait :) entre norrise et canyon
Pour la famille d'ours noir on était entre 20 et 40m obersvé pendant 2H mais on aurait pu y rester encore longtemps ! les deux petites faisaient que des conneries :) ils jouaient ensemble, se battaient, ils escaladaient dans les arbres, essayaient de faire peur a un gros corbeau mais les bébé avaient plus peur que le corbeau en lui meme :) En tout on a vu 9 ours, on aura pas pu randonner car beaucoup de trails fermés à cause des ours et pas équipé contre les ours mais au moins on en aura vu !

Non malheureusement j'ai pas un bon matos :) c'est que du matos de débutant mais au moins ça ma sauvé mais j'aimerai me mettre plus dans la photo !
Mon objectif c'est un tamron 70-300mm il doit couter 120€ c'est vraiment de l'entrée de gamme on va dire que c'est bien quand on est un débutant il m'a bien sauvé mais ça vaut pas un canon :) et mon boitier c'est un 700D avec l'objectif de base 18-55 donc rien de bien méchant :)
Willis creek c'est juste à coté de Bryce canyon après tropic, un slot canyon très sympa et sans touriste ! C'est pas aussi beau qu'antelope canyon, mais au moins t'es seul personne pour te dire "allez on avance " pas de tourisme de masse pas de bruit ... bref rien de plus beau que d'être seul ! ( oui j'aime pas antelope canyon :) malgré que ça soit beau ) j'ai adoré willis creek juste après tu as aussi bull valley gorge mais on a pas pu le faire ... on a essayer mais on s'est embourbé dans de la boue ...

C'est intéressant d'avoir un zoom 70-300 mm, même si ce n'est pas un Canon. Avant le numérique, l'appareil photo que j'avais, c'était un boitier Canon AT-1 avec un zoom Magnon 80-200 mmm (ouverture f/3.8) et un zoom 28-50 mm (ouverture f/3.5 - 4.5), de marque Magnon également. Quand il y avait une bonne luminosité, il faisait de bonnes photos alors que je n'avais pas un zoom Canon. L'idéal est d'avoir une grande ouverture de diaphragme, se rapprochant de f/2.8, afin de pouvoir faire de belles photos quelles que soient la météo et la luminosité. Mais, une telle ouverture chez Canon, cela coûte très cher. J'ai actuellement du matériel numérique entièrement Canon, mais je n'ai qu'une ouverture f/4 - 5.6 sur mon zoom 55-250 mm.
Grâce à tes explications, j'ai réussi à trouver où se situe Willis Creek. C'est une idée quand on retournera dans ce secteur.

Photo taken at the end of August off the coast of Tasiilaq (eastern Greenland).
This is that kind of halo surrounding the top of this iceberg (it’s the only one I saw like this out of thousands).
It’s apparently a light diffraction effect combined with moisture freezing above the iceberg.
Estimated height of the iceberg: 30 m.

Does anyone have recent info on the camera fee amount at Tadoba-Moharli? We spent 8 days there in the second half of February, and the local tour operator (The Wild Cat Eyes) collected 2000 rupees per camera per safari without any receipt—totaling 240,000 rupees (~265 €) for 12 safaris (9 in core zones and 3 in buffer zones). The signs at the park entrance listed 250 rupees, and the tour operator ignored our requests for an official park receipt.

As a video enthusiast, I took on two challenges: walking all the way across France from north to south and filming the entire journey.
The result shows, first, that this kind of adventure is within reach for anyone, and second, how and where I camped along the way.

I’d like to buy a camera to take with me everywhere while traveling and hiking. My use case: automatic mode only, for travel photos and family moments (meals, etc.). I currently have a Lumix FZ300, which has really let me down—especially in low light. I got some pretty mediocre shots from my last trip, and I definitely won’t be going back there... So, I’d like to replace it. Here’s what I’m ideally looking for: A compact camera, large sensor, decent zoom, and weather-sealed if possible. Any recommendations?

I traveled for a long time with a DSLR equipped with an 18-250mm zoom, but I gave it up two years ago and replaced it with my smartphone, which is lighter and less "intimidating" for street photography. The photo quality is good enough for nice enlargements (up to 80 cm).

I highly recommend visiting this coastal region along the Adriatic Sea for so many reasons: diverse landscapes, refined and varied cuisine, a very pleasant climate, a discreet and welcoming population, no mafia (it’s sad to say, but many Italian cities are plagued by this scourge, which brings insecurity, filth, and extortion...), and apart from July-August, there’s no risk of mass tourism!

I’m sharing a slightly unusual travel journal with three goals. To make it work, this discussion should stay in the travel journal section so we can find it easily and keep adding info to existing posts.
This journal is meant to help "newbies" discover these magical places.
We go to Southern Africa not just for the animals, but also for that soft light, the atmosphere, and those incredible wild campsites where you feel so at home... I’d love for you all to share your favorite spots here—those we miss so much.
The last goal is figuring out how to photograph them. Honestly, I’m not happy with my photos because they don’t capture the feeling I get when I’m there or that unique atmosphere.
I’ll start with one of the first spots that, for me, is one of the most beautiful in Southern Africa: Passarge Valley 2 in the Central Kalahari. There, you’re alone—completely alone. The next campsite is over 25 km away, and that’s a half-day of 4x4 driving. In front of you, there’s nothing but the CKGR plains with herds of springboks... absolutely stunning 😎

3 days in the Camargue... it’s really not enough!
I didn’t know the area before, but the Camargue is packed with "experiences": - Taking the ferry - Walking on the beaches and watching the kitesurfers - Crossing the dike on an electric bike - Horseback riding along the shore - Visiting a *manade* and attending an *abrivade* (cattle roundup) - Exploring Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, Aigues-Mortes, or Arles - Touring the salt flats of Giraud or Aigues - Photographing birds at the Parc du Pont de Gau - Watching a bull race and cheering on the *razeteurs* (bull-chasers) - Experiencing a Gypsy evening - Hiking "flat" among the reeds - Tasting bull meat - Relaxing in a peaceful haven - Testing mosquito repellent - ...
Needless to say, we didn’t have time to do it all in 3 days. We’ll be back!
A few tips: - For relaxation: a gorgeous guesthouse, *Le Mas de Bouvet* - For *manades*: the one at Baumelles, with a *Guytou* (herdsman) as warm as he is passionate - For tasting bull meat: *Le Chante Clair* in Les Saintes-Maries - And for birds: the Parc du Pont de Gau
If you’re a photographer, the park lets you stay until 6:00 PM, and afterward, you’re free to leave whenever you want. Those are the best hours for observing and photographing birds. But it’s also where you’ll see massive telephoto lenses that’ll make you feel small if all you’ve got is a small hybrid camera (like my Lumix G80) with a 100-300mm lens.
A few photo memories—starting with the *Manade de Baumelles*:

je pars en voyage en Angleterre et envisage de remonter toute l'écosse en voiture / stop. Je suis photographe semi pro et ayant déjà eu pas mal de déboires en voyage avec mon matériel, j'aimerais bien l'assurer contre notamment les dommages accidentels etc.
deux questions:
- est ce que vous le feriez avec votre assurance maison?
- est ce que vous prendriez une assurance dédiée? et si oui, directement dans le pays concerné?

avec des assureurs dédies comme photoguard et assetsure qui m'ont l'air bien surtout pour un voyage longue durée. vous en pensez quoi?

Il y a quelques années, j'avais fait cette photo jointe sur l'un des monuments funéraires du cimetière du Père Lachaise. J'avais à l'époque, posé la question de sa signification sur le forum, mais pas vraiment de réponse satisfaisante. Reste mon interrogation, donc je "reviens à la charge " avec cette photo. Merci à tous les chercheurs, connaisseurs... Pour ma part, ce n'est pas le 7 en lui même qui m'intrigue, mais le quadruple sur fond de delta lumineux! Bonne journée
