Venice Between COVID Waves

Between COVID waves, our Plan B took us to Venice from Trento. Quite the journey, indeed.

Hardly anyone in the City of Doges. The photos even won me a People's Choice Award at an exhibition in 2023.

And La Fenice... What beauty.

hi, thanks for these beautiful photos—the reflections of the house walls make such a lovely effect in the water. It almost looks like an impressionist painting

Thanks. Maybe that’s exactly what I was trying to capture, actually. [;)]

Congratulations Michel on these photos worthy of a great photographer—someone knew how to spot these wonders, and so did the public. BRAVO!!! These photos capture exactly what it was like to visit back in March, a long time ago when hordes of tourists were absent—that is, 40 years ago... Back then, I was really struck by the reflections on the water. It was the era of slides... And yesterday, January 1st on Arte, La Fenice dazzled with its gold... I would’ve paid a fortune to hear those voices in that prestigious opera house.

Hello, and a big thank you for your stunning photos—what a delight! The lighting is perfect. I take nice photos (as an amateur), but the light in yours is just gorgeous...

I have a small request: could you tell me where you took the 4th photo, the one with the steps by the rio, the chairs, and small tables set up under the porch? We’re planning yet another trip to Venice in the spring, and I’d love to discover more absolutely beautiful and rather hidden spots...

With all my thanks. Have a great evening. Joannie

Hello and thank you for your message. From what I remember, the photo was taken near the Jewish Ghetto area of Venice. The exact address escapes me. Have a nice day.

If you loved them—and thank you for that—I’ll dare to post a few more from the City of Doges.
