Comment est le climat, au sens géographique, politique, social.... et la relation avec les français(es) ?
Peux-t-on apprendre le khmer facilement, et le chinois ?
Comment sont les danses khmères, peut-on assister à des spectacles souvent ? peux-t-on apprendre à danser ?
Est-ce dangereux le soir ou bien est-ce que beaucoup de gens font la fête ?
On m'a dit que c'était une capitale bien campagnarde, un peu comme Vientiane au Laos, est-ce vrai ?

Neuf mois à Phnom Penh ....... 😇 moi qui suis un amoureux fou de cette ville, ce ne serait que du bonheur ...... 🙂
Phnom Penh est une petite capitale ou il fait encore bon vivre, et de nombreux expats y sont installés ...... néanmoins, il ne faut pas perdre de vue que l'occupation première de nombreux habitants est de vivre au jour le jour, mais celà n'influe pas trop dans leur façon de penser et de s'occuper au jour le jour ..... le pays lui même connaît une embellie économique mais est rongé par la corruption à tous les niveaux de la Société, et celà est amplifié par le fatalisme ambiant des khmers qui s'habituent à tout même au pire .......
Le climat politique est plutôt bon en ce moment et les différents partis ont trouvé des compromis et tentent d'atténuer leurs différences avant les élections de l'année prochaine ....... en gros, le parti au pouvoir ( celui du premier ministre Hun Sen ) cherche à se mettre les bonnes faveurs du principal parti d'opposition ( Sam Rainsy PSR ) afin de faire échec au parti royaliste ( FUNCIPEC ) ......
Il n'y a pas d'athmosphère d'insécurité et celà fait bien longtemlps que je n'ai pas entendu parler d'agression envers des touristes ..... le dernier français qui s'est fait assasiner cet hiver avait des problèmes avec les mafias corses et locales, donc on dira qu'il le cherchait quelque peu ....... sinon, c'est vraiment une capitale ou il fait bon vivre et les habitants aiment bien les français en général ...... et si tu vis " localement " en faisant tes courses et en ayant ton appartement, tu te rendras compte que la vie est excessivement bon marché ......
A part durant la fête des eaux au mois de Novembre ..... ce sont surtout les étrangers qui font la fête à Phom Penh, les locaux n'ayant guère d'argent et surtout ont d'autres soucis ....

juste pour dire que t as une chance incroyable de vivre une experience de 9 mois a phnom penh
concernant les soirees, im´peratif, va au tonle sap bar, musique moderne et traditionnelle, tres peu de touriste, et pas de souci, tu verras tu pourras apprendre tres rapidemant a danser, les khmers apprecient enormement
se trouve sur le quai, perpendiculaire au wat phnom!!!!!!!!

On m'a dit que beaucoup de khmers sont bilingues voire trilingues, en tout cas ils pourraient communiquer facilement en anglais et en français... à quel degré ? Comment ça se passe dans ce domaine au quotidien ? Comment puis-je entendre le khmer, car j'ai du mal à me faire une idée... ? j'ai appris à parler thai un peu et j'étudie le chinois, mais là j'avoue que pour moi c'est abstrait pour l'instant !

🙂...... pas vraiment, vraiment .... parmi les khmers d'un certain âge, disons la soixantaine passée, tu trouveras parmi une certaine " élite " ( et encore, car beaucoup ont disparu lors de l'épuration par les khmers rouges qui assassinaient toutes les personnes ayant un minimum de culture ..... 😕 ) des personnes qui parlent français, mais sinon parmi les jeunes c'est l'anglais qui prédomine, mais pas toujours un anglais trés fluide, néanmoins il est aisé de se faire comprendre ......
Sinon, pour prendre des cours de khmer tu peux t'adresser à l'Université Royale de Phnom Penh, sur le Russian Federation Bv. Tel 855 12 812 017 ou Fax : 855 23 880 116, et si tu fais des recherches sur ce même site dans le forum consacré aux langues du monde, tu devrais également trouver des informations intéressantes .....
Alors les danses khmers ........ tout d'abord savoir que le Ballet royal du Cambodge est Chef d'œuvre du patrimoine oral et immatériel de l'humanité à l'UNESCO ...... rien que ça ..... 😉 et il se produit un peu partout autour du monde, ce qui rend difficile de le voir sur Phnom Penh ...... pour ma part, je ne l'ai encore jamais vu ....... 😕 et il est plus facile de voir des danses apsaras sur la ville de Siem Reap, ou il y a quasiment des spectacles chaque soir, au vu de la fréquentation touristique du site d'Angkor ......

je ne saurai pas bien répondre à tes questions car je suis dans la même situation que toi: je pars mi-juin pour un an travailler pour una ONG à Kampong Speu (ca se trouve à 50 km de Phnom Penh).
Mais je peux déjà répondre à ce qu'on m'a dit.
Oui c'est très facile pour une fille seul, il n'y a aucun problème, les Cambodgiens sont très sympa (apparemment c'est une des populations d'Asie les plus chaleureuses et souriantes, bien que derrière ces beaux sourires se cache une grande souffrance de ce qu'ils ont vécu dans le passé). Apparemment, c'est une population assez proche des Lao, j'ai vu que tu as été au Laos (moi aussi, j'ai passé deux moi à travailler avec les paysans du Laos et j'ai vraiment adoré cette population et en tant que fille, jamais je n'ai rencontré aucun problème).
Le climat, il fait très chaud (plus de 30 degrés voir plus de 40 en mai-juin) et de mai à octobre il pleut (mais si tu achètes le lonely planète, tu auras toutes les indications climatique, géographique, politique, ....). Apparemment ca se passe très bien avec les francais.
Le Khmer semble assez facile à apprendre pour parler mais pour écrire ca c'est autre chose. On peut prendre des cours privé de Khmer pour 4 à 6 dollars de l'heure et apparemment ya aussi des cours collectifs (pour ca, il faudra que tu demandes au centre culturel francais). Pour le chinois (mandarin), la je crois que tu n'es pas sortie de l'auberge, on m'a tjs dit que c'est la langue la plus dure d'Asie. Les japonais et australien m'ont tjs dit que c'est une langue fort complexe, bien plus dure que le japonais (il faut des années, bien de trois ans pour se débruiller). Mais si tu es motivée, alors fonce.
Pour les danses, je ne saurai t'aider.
Le soir normalement ya pas trop de problème, mais je pense que c'est comme partout, ya des endroits ou faut mieux pas trop trainer. Et la fête, apparemment ya moyen, ya plein d'expat, de touristes, de bars, .... à Phnom Penh.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
