Can you see the Statue of Liberty when landing in New York?

Hello,

It depends on which airport and which side of the plane you're on. When taking off from Newark Liberty, I flew right over Manhattan just above Times Square. Since the statue is farther away, it seems difficult (it was nighttime).

Thanks for your reply! We arrive at Newark in the afternoon and leave from JFK in the late afternoon. Do we have a chance? Thanks

How much time is there between the two airports?

I remember seeing it from a distance when arriving at Newark (domestic flight from New Orleans), but the weather has to be good (6 miles as the crow flies) and you need to be on the right side of the plane.

View from a Newark departure at 2 pm, sitting on the left side. It's not exactly thrilling 😉
