Bonjour tout le monde, Nous allons passer quatre jours à Tokyo en avril prochain, et j'hésite entre deux hôtels, situés dans les quartiers de Ginza pour l'un et Shinjuku pour l'autre. Pourriez-vous me dire quel serait le meilleur moyen de rejoindre l'aéroport international d'Haneda, pour le retour en France.. J 'avoue que je galère un peu pour m' y retrouver entre trains, métro, bus express.. Je sais que nous ne prendrons pas de taxi, trop onéreux. Bonjour, voici un petit compte-rendu de mon voyage au Japon en compagnie de mes 3 enfants (20, 18 et 14 ans). Voyage avec KLM au départ de Bruxelles, via Amsterdam. Arrivée à Osaka le 25 au matin, sous le soleil, récupération de nos bagages, on met dans le sac à dos ce qu'il nous faut pour 2 nuits et on fait envoyer nos bagages à Kyoto pour dans 2 jours via compagnie JAL, on se dirige vers la gare toute proche et on fait activer notre JR pass pour le lendemain, train vers Osaka, on monte au sommet de Abeno Harukas, déjeuner et ensuite balade quartier Shinsekai. Installation à l'hôtel, petite sieste puis diner quartier Dotonbori. J'aurais bien voulu monter au dessus de l'Umeda sky building en soirée mais les enfants étaient "morts". 26 : départ vers Hiroshima. Visite du parc de la paix. Devant le monument des enfants, un groupe d'écoliers en train de chanter, assez émouvant ! Visite du mémorial ainsi que du musée : très bien fait. C'est préférable de comprendre l'anglais pour lire tous les panneaux explicatifs. Ensuite départ vers Miyajima. Là nous avions loué un ryokan rien que pour nous 4 ! Très très bien. On pose nos sacs à dos puis balade au mont Misen. Montée par l'est, descende par l'ouest, très bel endroit. Miyajima le soir et le matin, c'est vraiment calme ! ça vaut la peine d'y passer la nuit. 27 : visite du sanctuaire d'Itsukushima, du temple Daisho-in et du sanctuaire Senjokaku, on reprend le bateau fin de matinée. Après midi visite château d'Himeji. Magnifique château en bois récemment rénové, pas de trop de monde en plus. Soir, arrivée à Kyoto .

My wife and I are heading to Japan from March 27 to April 22, 2025. On the evening of the 21st, we’ll be staying in Tokyo to catch our international flight. For this first trip, we’ve prioritized a fairly classic itinerary. Here’s the plan:

- Osaka (arriving at Kansai Airport) - Hiroshima - Itsukushima (also known as Miyajima) - Kyoto - Nara - Kanazawa - Shirakawa-go - Takayama - Tokyo

We’ll likely finish our sightseeing in Tokyo around March 17.

We’re thinking of heading somewhere "quiet" or "by the sea," maybe an island, between the 17th/18th and the evening of the 21st.

I just lightened my wallet by 3000 € for 3 tickets: Paris > Tokyo > Osaka > Paris (well, not just mine—I’m exaggerating, there are two of us). For my daughter’s 10th birthday, we’re heading to Japan—it’s her "decade gift," though I thought she’d pick London🏴‍☠️. But I’ve been dreaming of going back to Japan since my 2013 trip, so I’ll admit this trip is (a lot) for me too. We’re traveling during school holidays, so the ticket prices are unfortunately sky-high. Maybe I could’ve gotten a better deal if I’d waited, but who knows... oh well, it’s done now. We leave at the end of October, so we still have a few months to prepare. That said, I’d rather start early to make sure we don’t miss anything (like the Ghibli Museum—I couldn’t go last time, and anyway, I’ll have to wait until September to book). Last time, there were three adults, so it was pretty straightforward. Eleven years later, well, now it’s two adults with a 10-year-old😛.

So I’m wondering how many days to spend in Tokyo. My daughter idealizes the city (that’s why she wants to go to Japan), and she’s really drawn to Japanese culture and food. Actually, what first got her interested in Japan were all the *kawaii* character products... Tokyo is such a fascinating city, but it can also be exhausting—especially for a kid, and I’m not sure what to expect. Beyond Tokyo, honestly, I’m not entirely sure. I was thinking of Hakone and maybe stopping by Fujikyu Highlands. Then heading down to Osaka for a few days in Kyoto before flying home (our return flight is from Osaka). We only have 11 days there (not counting the arrival day, and since our flight leaves at 11:30 PM on departure day, we’ll have the whole day), so it’s not a ton of time. I already spent a week in Kyoto on my last trip (huge crush on it), and I’d love to have two months there, but... well, you know how it is.

For example: 5 days in Tokyo 2 days in Hakone 4 days in Osaka/Kyoto

What do you think? If you’ve done this trip with kids, do you have any tips for family-friendly accommodations in Tokyo and Hakone? My daughter would love to try an onsen. We have a decent budget, but it’s not unlimited. We’d like to book as we go to spread out the costs a bit.

We (two couples of friends) will be spending 6 full days there in early November. Here’s what we’ve planned so far. DAY 0: Arrival in Tokyo in the evening, so rest and dinner near the hotel.

DAY 1:

09:00 – Shinjuku Gyoen Park

Must-see: ✔ Japanese garden (red bridge, pond) ✔ French garden (perspective and rose garden) ✔ English garden (lawns and maple trees) Photo spot: Red bridge + red maples (koyo).

11:00 – Harajuku & Takeshita Street

Walking route:

Start with Takeshita-dori (kawaii fashion, Japanese crepes). Walk up to Omotesandō (designer architecture: Dior, Prada).

Don’t miss: ✔ Kiddy Land (toys, souvenirs) ✔ Tokyu Plaza Omotesandō (entrance with escalators and mirrors → iconic photo)

12:30 – Lunch

Afuri Harajuku (yuzu ramen, light and fragrant). Alternative: Uogashi Nihon-Ichi (standing sushi, quick and fresh).

14:00 – Meiji-jingū (optional but recommended)

Voici une ébauche de mon itinéraire, j' aimerais avoir vos avis sur celui çi. Arrivée le 25/03 à Fukuoka 3nuits Départ le 28 pour Yanagawa, kurume, yame 3nuits Départ le 31 pour Kumamoto 2nuits Départ le 02 pour Kagoshima 2nuits Retour le 04 à Fukuoka 4nuits (Visite de Beppu, Usiki, Itoshi, Hoshino et Kitakyushu)

Pensez-vous qu'il soit possible de tout visiter? Je ne sais pas trop comment organiser mon itinéraire par rapport aux distances des villes. Mes centres d'intêrets sont la visites de temples, les toris sur la mer, les rizières , les plantations de thé, être proche des habitants, la nature...

Je cherche aussi un ryokan assez sympa mais pas hors de prix mais je ne sais pas dans quel endroit il vaut mieux le prendre.

Bonjour, J'ai trouvé un appart-hotel dans le quartier d'asakusa. Les commentaires sont très positifs, il offre l'avantage d'avoir du personnel dans les lieux en cas de problème mais offre également une plus grande liberté (pas d'obligation d'aller manger au resto tous les jours) avec sa cuisine et une machine à laver, supermarché à proximité. Bref, ma question est la suivante: l'hotel se situe à 500 mètres d'une station de métro mais pas à proximité d'une gare. Est-ce vraiment gênant sachant que j'ai prévu de visiter Tokyo mais également ses alentours? Je n'ai pas encore d'itinéraire précis en tête mais je sais déjà que je passerai la moitié de mon voyage à visiter Tokyo et alentours avant de me rendre à Kyoto pour visiter la ville et également les alentours. Et je souhaite déjà réserver mes pieds-à-terre dans ces deux villes pour plus de sécurité. Merci

Hi there, I’m planning a trip to Japan with my three grown-up kids, who aren’t exactly keen on rushing from one place to another with heavy luggage. I’ve tried to balance things so we can see as much as possible while still giving them time to enjoy the evenings. Here’s what I’ve come up with: - Arrival in Tokyo on May 17 - Staying in Tokyo from May 17 to 22, exploring the city, with a day trip to Nikko (round trip in one day): is it worth it, considering it’s a 2-hour train ride each way? - Sending our big suitcases directly to Osaka - Traveling to Kamakura on May 23: 1 night (with small luggage) - Traveling to Hakone on May 24: 1 night (with small luggage) - Heading to Osaka on May 25: staying from May 25 to June 2 in Osaka, where we’ll pick up our big suitcases Day trips from Osaka: - Kyoto: 2 days (round trip in one day) - Nara: 1 day (round trip in one day) My son would prefer to stay in Osaka for all 8 days, but I’m wondering if it’s a good idea to spend at least one night in Kyoto. What do you think? - Leaving for Himeji on June 3: is it possible to leave both big and small luggage in a coin locker to visit the castle, or is it better to do a round trip from Osaka? - Traveling to Hiroshima: 3 nights from June 3 to 5: - Hiroshima: 1 day - Miyajima: 1 day - Okayama and Kurashiki: 1 day: is it better to do a round trip from Hiroshima and return to Tokyo from there, or spend the night of June 5 in Okayama and head to Tokyo from there? - Back to Tokyo from June 6 to 9, with departure on the morning of June 9. Nos lieux de séjours, Tokyo, Hiroshima ( 2 nuits), Kyoto ou Osaka, aéroport d Osaka, départ très tôt, 7h30. Pass Shinkansen sur place. Première question, 4 nuits Tokyo et 2 nuits Kyoto—Osaka ou 3 nuits dans chacune des villes ? Deuxième question choisir l hôtel à Kyoto ou à Osaka ?. J'oubliais, plus de 130ans à nous deux et l habitude de voyager seuls. Merci de vos conseils et suggestions.

1) What budget should I plan for 15 days, given that hotels with breakfast, transfers, and transport are already paid for? I know it depends on the person, but I’d love a rough idea. For meals, we’re thinking simple street food or small local restaurants.

2) I’ve heard that credit cards (we each have a Revolut + 1 Visa Premier) aren’t widely used and that it’s better to have cash. Can you confirm?

3) Are foreign credit cards still not accepted at bank ATMs? Still 7-Eleven or the Post Office? And what about American Express?

Est-ce qu'on peut utiliser la carte Suica pour prendre le bus en question ? Par ailleurs, comment pourra-t-on rejoindre Osaka, lorsque nous repartirons d'Hankone ? Et est-ce qu'on pourra le faire avec la carte Suica ? Merci pour vos infos.

This coming October or November, we’re planning our first trip to Japan. The only downside is we’ll only have two weeks off.

For this first visit, I’m thinking of sticking to the Kyoto and Osaka area… saving Tokyo for another trip. Do you think that’s a good choice for a first-time visit?

I’ve put together a little itinerary below to get some feedback from those in the know. I’m only counting the days we’re actually there, not travel days.

Day 1: Kyoto Ginkaku-ji – Philosopher’s Path with stops at a few shrines temples Eikan-dō and Nanzen-ji visit to the Samurai Ninja Museum in the late afternoon

Day 2: Kyoto Fushimi Inari (allow 4 hours for the hike through the park) visit to Sanjūsangen-dō temple Shōseien garden participate in a tea ceremony

Day 3: Kyoto Kiyomizu-dera temple stroll through the historic district up to Kennin-ji temple visit Kennin-ji temple Yasaka-jinja shrine and Gion district in the late afternoon return to the hotel via Pontochō Street

Day 4: Kyoto visit Kinkaku-ji and Nijō Castle visit the Imperial Palace gardens end the day in the shopping streets (Shibkyogoku and Teramachi, among others)

Day 5: Kyoto Arashiyama area Togetsukyo Bridge, walk along the river, visit the Bamboo Forest explore the area up to Otagi Nenbutsu-ji temple

Day 6: Kyoto hike from Kibune to Kurama

Day 7: Kyoto day trip to Nara (full day)

Day 8: stroll around Kyoto before heading to Osaka

Day 9: Osaka Katsuo-ji temple, then head to Minoh Falls and hike back via the Minoh Trail end the day in the Osaka Castle area

Day 10: Osaka Himeji Castle and an afternoon in Osaka

Day 11: Osaka Osaka and return to the airport in the late afternoon for the flight home

Do you think this itinerary is doable? Are some days too relaxed or too packed? I was thinking of adding a trip to Lake Biwa and Uji, but in that case, I’d have to cut some things. Are those places worth dropping some of the planned spots? And if so, which ones would you recommend cutting or shortening?

I haven’t found what I’m looking for despite my searches!

For a 15-day trip next spring, I’d like to buy a card (preferably an eSIM, but a physical SIM is fine too) that also lets me make calls in the country (to contact a hotel, a tourist spot, etc.).

You can easily find options just for data, but I haven’t come across any that include calls, texts, or even MMS. Could you recommend something?

Departure imminent on 10/27. The trip will be a full 18 days. I still have a few questions about transportation for certain legs:

Day 1: Arrival in Fukuoka in the evening at 7:30 PM

Day 2: Fukuoka city

Day 3: Ukiha (car or train?)

Day 4: Itoshima

Day 5: 11/01/2024: Okawa, Omuta (forge), and Yanagawa for the Yanagawa Hakushu Matsuri. A bit ambitious for a single day?

Day 6: Arita / Owakachiyama / rice fields in the evening: Is it better to go from Fukuoka to Arita by car or train?

Day 7: Sasebo + Kujukushima Pearl + fireworks show Day 8: Karatsu (Yobuko market + cave + cape) + Matsuri Kanchi Day 9: Kashima + garden + Tara Day 10: Higashi Sonogi, overnight in Nagasaki. Is it better to return the car in Arita or Nagasaki? Day 11: Nagasaki Day 12: Nagasaki, overnight in Fukuoka, so departure by train from Nagasaki Day 13: Munakata and Oshima, and in the evening, Hanabi Kama

Day 14: Mount Hiko, Toho, Soeda. Is there a pottery village? With or without hands-on experience?

Day 15: Yame (Hoshino tea visit) and Kurume Masure workshop

Days 16, 17, 18, 19: Fukuoka city and maybe Nokonoshima or Kitakyushu

Any suggestions? Does this seem balanced?

-est-il possible de se rendre à la Station 5( 5th Station 2305 m d'altitude) avec sa propre voiture ?

Ou bien est-on obligé de prendre les transports en commun ?

Quelequ'un peut-il ou elle me conseiller un itinéraire de 3 semaines au Japon sachant que j'y serai fin mars et début avril et ayant passé les 2 premiers jours à Kamakura et les 5 prochains à Tokyo. Kyoto et une randonnée dans les envirions du mont Fuji sont sur ma liste m'activités que j'aimerais entreprendre.

Bonjour, Je pars en famille (2 enfants de 7 et 11 ans) au Japon à l'été 2020. Les billets d'avions sont pris et je commence à regarder l'itinéraire (pour répartir les couts d'hotel) J'ai prévu l'itinéraire ci dessous et je me pose quelques questions. Est ce que Osaka vaut le coup et autant de temps ? Est ce qu'il vaut mieux bouger d'hotel en hotel ou plutot rayonner depuis une place (Osaka / Kyoto ?) et bouger en train. Dans ce cas, plutot Kyoto ou Osaka ou un bon plan ;-) ? Certains guides proposent Kurashiki et Kobe, ca vaut aussi une pause ? On prévoit 18 jours sur place. Pour Tokyo on aura 1 jour aux JOs donc pas de visite. J1 : arrivee 6h20 + osaka J2 : osaka J3 : osaka J4 : nara J5 : himeji (kurashiki / kobe ?)
