Hi, I’m flying Melbourne/Jakarta with Singapore Airlines, arriving at 6 PM, then switching to Turkish Airlines, departing at 9 PM. Do you think I’ll have enough time for my connection, including customs, collecting and re-checking my baggage?

Thanks in advance

Good evening,

Do you have two separate tickets? How and where did you buy them? Singapore Airlines and Turkish Airlines are in the same alliance, and there’s a codeshare between them for the Singapore-Istanbul route. If your ticket includes the TK flight, there’s no issue with checking in baggage.

Hi, I didn’t take them at the same time, and I booked the tickets on their websites (Turkish Airlines and Singapore Airlines).

Hi there,

You have two separate tickets, but you're traveling with two airlines that are part of the same "Star Alliance" alliance. They have agreements in place, so show both tickets when you depart from Melbourne. You'll save time because your luggage will go straight to your final destination, and you'll only need to go through transit formalities before heading directly to your departure gate. 😉
Cordialement, Patrick.
