Self-transfer in Jakarta and visa requirements

Hi, I'm flying from Hanoi with VietJet Air and have a 5h30 self-transfer in Jakarta before continuing to Doha with Qatar Airways. With checked baggage. My questions are: Can I get my visa on arrival, or do I need it before departure? And do I have enough time to get the visa, collect my bags, and check in for the next flight in 5h30? If you've done this before, how long do you think these steps take?

Thanks so much in advance for your replies—it's pretty urgent!

Hello, No problem with a 5h30 layover—you’ll have 3 hours free. Since you’re on VietJet, you’ll arrive at Terminal 2. After disembarking, before going through immigration, clearly visible counters are available to pay for your visa. The agent will give you a payment receipt to show the passport control officer. The whole process will take about 5 minutes, then you’ll head to the baggage claim. Once you’ve collected your luggage, you’ll need to go to Terminal 3 to check in for Qatar Airways. You’ll take the free Skytrain. Here’s how: In the center of Terminal 2, on the sidewalk at the "arrivals" level, cross the traffic lanes in front of you. Enter the Skytrain building and go upstairs (escalators and/or elevators). You’ll then be on the platform. One side of the platform goes to T1, and the other to T3. The ride takes 5 minutes. When you arrive at T3, follow the signs to the "departures" hall. Safe travels....
