Hi there, New to bike touring, I’d love to start with a section of the Via Rhona to explore and share (route to be decided). Looking forward to exchanging tips!

Hi there!

We tried out different sections and it’s all very safe. If you're from Villefranche-sur-Saône, the "Vallée Bleue" toward Montalieu is really nice. There’s a section of the Via Rhona where you can rent bikes, and there’s also a lake for boating.

Here’s the route details for this bike ride—it might give you some ideas.

Good evening, Thanks for the info! Did you only spend one day at the Vallée Bleue?

Hi Marie, Having done the Loire à Vélo and the Via Rhona—both fairly close to Villefranche-sur-Saône—the Loire is a thousand times more interesting than the Via Rhona, especially since the fun part is between Geneva and Lyon. After that, it gets pretty boring. Of course, that’s just my personal take...

Hi there, I’m not a huge fan of bike paths because I find them a bit monotonous, and you’re forced to pedal the whole time—I prefer going up and down hills. The only upside is there are no cars! We took it three years ago to get to Toulon to catch a boat to Sardinia. The Via Rhona has another perk: it runs alongside nuclear power plants. So if there’s a leak, well, not you, but the next generation might end up pedaling with four legs and have to modify their bikes. Good luck with your upcoming projects! Don’t worry about that—it’s way safer to ride near a power plant on a bike path than to pedal on an open road ;P

Hi everyone! 👋

I’m from Lyon and I’ve put together a really comprehensive tourist guide for Lyon, with addresses and local tips you won’t necessarily find in the usual guidebooks. 😊

I’m currently working on a tourism project and I’m trying to understand travelers’ habits. I’ve created a short questionnaire (2 mins) for this, and I need your help. 👉 https://tally.so/r/ob0rW1 👈

🎁 The Lyon guide is yours for free at the end of the questionnaire as a thank-you. 🎁

No sales, no soliciting. Just a few questions and a great guide as a reward! 😊

Thanks so much for your help! 🙏
