Doit-on craindre les vols Iran Air?

Bonjour,
Je projette de partir en Ouzbekistan et Iran l'année prochaine pour 15 jours, et pour gagner du temps, nous envisageons 2 vols :
-1 vol Tachkent-Téhéran avec Iran Air, vol du vendredi matin.
-Et 1 vol Téhéran-Chiraz, je ne sais pas quelle compagnie opère, mais si j'ai bien compris, Iran Air et Mahan semblent les plus fiables
Suite au recent crash en Iran, et au fait que les agences françaises semblent refuser de vendre des billets Iran Air car blacklistée en Europe (on me conseille de repasser par Istanbul avec une escale de 10h), ai je raison de craindre de prendre ces vols?
Avez vous des experiences récentes sur Iran Air ou autre vol interieur qui pourraient m'aider à prendre la bonne décision?
Et avez vous deja récemment acheté des billets via leur bureau à Paris, car cela semble impossible via leur site internet.

En général l'aviation iranienne souffre en ce moment des sanctions imposées par les pays occidentaux. Donc, tout ce qui vole avec EP- (immatriculation en Iran) est soit vieux et/ou est de production non-occidentale (voir le dernier avion qui est crashé était construit en Ukraine (ou sous licence en Iran).
Les Iraniens ont de la peine à obtenir des pièces de rechange nécessaires pour maintenir leur flotte en vol et "fiable". Donc, on peut supposer que la maintenance est pour eux pour le moins "difficile" et compliqué.
Ma conclusion: avions relativement vieux et/ou de production non-occidentale. Ces avions qui datent demandent de la maintenance active et aussi souvent intensive. Les pièces sont assez rares et/ou difficiles à obtenir pour les Iraniens.
Personnellement je ne volerai pas avec une Compagnie Aérienne de l'Iran (pour le moment). Allons voir si les sanctions vont être levées très bientôt et ainsi les Iraniens pourront finalement renouveler leur flotte et les pièces de rechange? Merci Chris

la Russie et la Chine sont en train de négocier des accords commerciaux qui vont réduire l'impact des sanctions en Iran (que ça plaise ou non aux USA et à l'UE... conséquence logique des sanctions contre la Russie). Même si les 2 principaux producteurs d'avions de ligne sont occidentaux, je ne serais pas étonnée que ça puisse bénéficier, indirectement, à l'aviation civile iranienne.

J'ai la même question concernant les vols domestiques, pensez-vous qu'il soit sûr (relativement...) de prendre actuellement un vol intérieur e Iran, et avec quelle(s) compagnie(s) ?

Seule une partie de la flotte est concernée par les restrictions de vol en Europe.
Mais par exemple, le vol qui m'interesse entre Taschkent et Téhéran est assuré par un airbus A320, qui fait partie de la liste noire. Difficile de savoir pour les vols interieurs par quel type d'appareil ils sont assurés.

Bon, statistiquement, vous avez quand même bien moins de risques d'avoir un avion qui s'écrase que de vous faire renverser par une voiture à Téhéran....
J'ai pris trois fois l'avion en décembre pour des vols intérieurs, je n'étais pas très rassurée mais je n'ai rien remarqué d'alarmant en montant à bord. Faut pas tomber sur le mauvais vol..... 😕

Tout ce qui a ete dit sur la maintenance est vrai, ceci dit il faut voir le remplacement massif , depuis 2012, des fokker, b727 et des tupolev par des A320 comme une bonne nouvelle qui ne date pas d hier.
Pour le reste je m etonne de lire qu iran air est black listee en europe> actuellement ils partent d orly plusieurs fois par semaine. Leurs billets sont vendus quasiement exclusivement au comptoir iran air des Champs elysees, et cela n a rien a voir avec des crash ou quoi...
Concernant ces histoires de blacklist il faut detailler les vols concernes, car bien souvent ces mentions sont liees au type d avion opere sur la desserte. Pour faire court, les a300 operes par iran air sur Orly ne sont sans doute pas black listes, puisqu on les laisse venir! La levee recente des sanctions sur les pieces d avions annonce sans doute le retour de b747 anciens sur leurs dessertes internationales.
Pour conclure, je recommande une vigilance sur le type opere qque soit la desserte> il suffit de demander au moment de l achat du ticket. Conscient du taux d incidents sur ces types, je compte une 50aine d heures de vols sur leurs Tu154, A300, B727, F100, Il62 (arian, taban air) . Precisement pour cette raison, je ne recommande pas leurs dessertes en F100 ou B727. A ma connaissance, les Il62 et Tu154 sont bannis depuis 2011.

info fraiche sur place> Iran Air actuellement eclabousse par des scandales repetes de retards record sur les lignes INTERIEURES depuis 10 jours. Les modeles impliques semblent etre des MD-8x . En ce qui nous concerne, je crois qu'on va privilegier Turkish Airlines pour y aller, et limiter au max les vols intérieurs, avec juste un Téhéran - Shiraz... De toute façon, on a oublié le combiné Ouzbekistan - Iran pour avoir plus de temps à consacrer à l'Iran. Donc aussi le temps de ne pas prendre l'avion.
Oups ! Donc si j'ai bien tout compris, il ne s'agit que d'un problème d'horaires et non de sécurité. C'est bien ça ?

Il y a quelques jours j'ai fait Shiraz-Téhéran avec Mahan Air.
Je ne peux pas juger les aspects techniques, si ce n'est que l'Airbus 320 en question opère aussi sur des vols pour l'Allemagne (et qu'avec un vol de 1h15 on a été nourri 3x plus que dans les vols de trois heures avec compagnies classiques européennes).
Selon tous les locaux à qui j'ai posé la question, Mahan Air est la compagnie en laquelle ils ont le plus confiance mais attention, les billets avec Mahan partent comme des petits pains assez vite donc on se les arrache (je les avais pris bien en avance).

"in view of the significant efforts and progress accomplished by this carrier, which were verified during an on site inspection in Iran."
A noter: ils ont même fait un déplacement en Iran pour vérifier le progrès de Mahan Air en matière de sécurité.

Franchement, je ne suis pas une pro de la vérif. mais quand j'ai pris l'avion de la Mahan, je me suis mise à flipper sur l'état - en apparence - obsolète des avions de Türkish et Pegasus qui, en comparaison, ont l'air de vieilles carlingues... Mais j'imagine bien que ce n'est pas "l'apparence" qui fait le moine en matière d'aéronautique 😉! Bonne soirée.

Ryanair, Easyjet et Pegasus sont dans un mouchoir de poche dans le classement de FR, au fond du classement parce que ce sont des low costs, mais les conclusions des différents contributeurs (qui sont d'horizons assez différents) sont plutôt favorables, à lire ici. Je n'ai pas volé sur Pegasus, mais à ce que je lis, si vous avez l'habitude des low-costs européennes, c'est une option valable.

Maintenir ses avions bien "vieillissants" en état de vol est déjà un sacré défi. Alors maintenir des avions vieillissants en état vol sans pouvoir acheter les pièces de rechange nécessaires sur le marché est ........... (mon mot) = Mission quasi-impossible.
Donc, même si j'aime bien les Iraniens (le peuple), personnellement je ne prendrai plus Iran Air (ou Mahan Air). Trop risqué... Chris

Since it came into force, Regulation 261/2004 of the European Parliament and Council, which defines air passenger rights, has faced fierce resistance from airlines, backed by IATA (the association representing almost all passenger airlines).
Beyond the airlines' often abusive—and even frequently bad-faith—resistance to passenger rights, IATA has been lobbying EU institutions for years, with the Council paying close attention for a long time.

This is very different from the current situation, where, under the KLM ruling, any airline operating a segment of the flight is liable for compensation. This promises more disputes that the Court of Justice of the European Union will have to resolve if two separate airlines operating segments of a connecting flight are both responsible for the delay. It must also declare what "reasonable measures" were taken to mitigate the issue. This is, of course, a huge change in the regulation, with the clear goal of preventing airlines from declaring just anything as "extraordinary circumstances" to avoid compensation. - If, within 3 hours of a last-minute canceled or delayed flight, the airline hasn’t offered re-routing under comparable transport conditions and as soon as possible—whether on one of its own flights or another airline’s—the passenger will have the right to arrange their own re-routing and demand a refund for the new ticket, up to 400% of the original ticket price. Note: This can’t be used to replace one passenger with another—just to correct a typo, e.g., Dupont instead of Dpont. - Airlines’ websites and apps must include information on how to file a claim.

It remains to be seen whether this text will be definitively adopted on July 7, 2026, as is very likely, and, more importantly, whether IATA will encourage airlines to loyally respect these new rules or persist in their old habits.

Beyond the airlines' often abusive—and even frequently bad-faith—resistance to passenger rights, IATA has been lobbying EU institutions for years, with the Council paying close attention for a long time.

As of January 1, 2026, all foreign nationals traveling to Georgia for tourism purposes will be required to present valid travel health insurance. Guests who fail to provide the relevant health insurance will not be accepted on our flights to Georgia. Sincerely, Pegasus Airlines
In other words, if you don’t show proof of travel health insurance, you’ll be denied boarding. Personally, my credit card insurance has always been enough for me, and I’d rather not take out extra coverage... Have any of you run into this issue before? If not, what do you think? Of course, there’s huge pressure from European agencies, which are forced to disrupt their plans or even cancel trips because of this. Personally, I’ve got a trip planned for February 2026 to the southern parks in Tanzania, so I’ll be keeping an eye on how this develops. Do any of you have updates? Thanks!

Before, they used to prioritize major airlines, but now it’s small airlines from small countries—companies with terrible ratings and borderline safety concerns. I even just noticed this note for a Tanzania trip: "We inform you that the domestic flight segment in Tanzania included in your trip is operated by an airline listed on the European Union’s list of air carriers subject to an operating ban within the European Union. This ban only applies to European Union airspace, meaning this airline is not permitted to take off, land, or fly over European airspace. However, this airline is authorized to operate in Tanzania."

We need assistance for check-in and boarding/disembarking (my husband is a mobility-impaired traveler who uses a cane and/or a walker). We’ve done a cruise return from Dubai to Paris CDG before in 2016, with a layover in Istanbul, but we booked the transfer and return flight with COSTA. For our current plan, it would be with Celestyal, which doesn’t offer round-trip flights from Paris to Dubai. Should we book very far in advance, or is a few months before departure enough (4/6 months)? We’re thinking of arriving the day before the ship departs, so we’d need to stay overnight in Dubai—either on the way there or for the return flight, depending on the flight schedules. Could you recommend a hotel not too far from the airport, and how to get to the port from the airport?

The problem is that the smallest suitcase I have (which is supposed to be designed specifically for cabin size standards, according to the manual) has the following dimensions: 55x37x21, so it's just 1 cm over (wheels included) on one of the measurements.
I wasn’t too worried at first, but I’ve read dozens of stories about people’s misadventures and the hassles they’ve had with RyanAir.
Since I don’t want my suitcase to end up in the hold (that would waste time picking it up when I’m already arriving late and need to get to the city center), nor do I want to pay an extra fee (apparently 50 €) for the outbound and return flights for just 1 centimeter—especially since I paid for the "priority+" option and I’m not exactly rolling in money—I’d love some advice.
Have any of you been in the same situation? I’ve read that with this airline, they check bags in templates (testing them in different positions) and are completely uncompromising. I tried contacting customer service, who, as luck would have it, "don’t handle this kind of request," and a rep I spoke to wasn’t much help.

Just to clarify, since I’m going for 8 days, I can’t just take one bag for my stuff. I’ve done that for shorter trips before, and it was a hassle—I even had to buy an extra bag for the return trip... Luckily, the inspector was nice about it!

Just to clarify, since I’m going for 8 days, I can’t just take one bag for my stuff. I’ve done that for shorter trips before, and it was a hassle—I even had to buy an extra bag for the return trip... Luckily, the inspector was nice about it!

I’d like to return to Uzbekistan next April for 10 days with my husband to visit our son who lives there. We went last July and I bought the flight tickets (direct flight from Paris on Uzbekistan Airways) about 2 months in advance at very reasonable prices. I’ve been checking for late April for a few weeks now, and the tickets are much more expensive and keep rising. I can’t figure out if the prices are going up because it’s still a bit too early to buy and they’ll likely drop if the planes aren’t full, or if it’s because the period is actually in high demand. For reference, last year I bought my son’s ticket on May 30th for a departure on June 3rd—just 3 days later—at a very low price that didn’t budge at all.
Just in case, does anyone know the pricing trends for this airline and can advise me? Should I wait or not?

My wife bought a flight ticket (Lucky Air) under her Thai maiden name and was issued a Chinese visa on her new Thai passport but with her French married name (due to administrative requirements). She was denied boarding by the airline in Bangkok for the flight to Kunming—resulting in the loss of our round-trip flight tickets, including mine since we were traveling together—despite presenting both passports at the airline counter at the same time.

Way cheaper than Air France, for example.
That said, the reviews I’ve seen online aren’t great.

I can't seem to find flights between the Cape Verde islands on the airline's website. No matter the date or route, I always get the same response: "no flights on this date." See the photo. Would anyone have an explanation? Surely not all flights are fully booked in July?

Has anyone managed to get a refund from Oman Air?
After a delayed flight, we missed our connecting flight to get home!! At midnight, the flight attendant booked us on a flight to Nice via Munich, even though we were in Munich and wanted to get back to Nice... Too tired from the trip, we didn’t notice the mistake!! The next day, of course, the booking wasn’t valid!! We had to pay again for the flight back to Nice... I’m really struggling!! I think they’re giving me the runaround!! I’ve sent several emails, tried Messenger and WhatsApp, but the only responses I get are: "We need to investigate!! We’ll get back to you in 15 days!!" It’s been over a month!!
I just sent a registered letter (LRAR) to their office at Paris Charles de Gaulle, which is still open!!
Do you have any other suggestions for me?

Sri Lanka has announced it could run out of fuel in the coming weeks if the Strait of Hormuz remains blocked. The government has implemented a mandatory four-day workweek to save oil, and there are long lines at gas stations due to fears of an early shortage.
In Vietnam, the government has warned all airlines that flights will need to be reduced due to a lack of kerosene. The country imports two-thirds of its jet fuel from China and Thailand, but both countries have now banned exports out of fear of domestic shortages.
The state is asking airlines to plan ahead and park aircraft to drastically reduce operations, starting with domestic flights and then international ones. International carriers will also need to cut back on their rotations.
This will begin in the coming days. 🙁

First question: Will my checked baggage be transferred automatically? I have a single ticket from KTI to YUL (Air Canada ticket—KTI-ICN operated by Asiana (codeshare) and ICN-YUL by Air Canada).
Second question: I saw it’s possible to join free guided tours (Airport Transit Tour). What do you think of this kind of service? And is my "actual" layover time (accounting for security checks, check-in, etc.) enough to do one of these tours?

I'm heading to Namibia next May. I'm planning to take a first flight from Paris to Johannesburg with Air France, departing at 11:20 PM and arriving at 11:05 AM in Johannesburg. Then a second flight from Johannesburg to Windhoek at 3:25 PM with South African Airways.
Four hours between the two flights seems enough to catch my connection, but a friend told me I should maybe take the 5:30 PM flight instead because I need to go through immigration, collect my luggage, and check in again. Apparently, I have to do this because I bought the two tickets separately (it's actually much cheaper).
What do you think?
Also, in terms of South African airlines, which one do you think is the most reliable between South African Airways and Airlink?

Now, onto the topic :)
We’re a family of four traveling together to Seoul, with two separate bookings.
Our original itinerary was: Madrid → Doha → Seoul (March 23–24)
The issue is that our entire outbound flight was canceled, and the airline simply rescheduled the Madrid → Doha leg. Now we’re left with an incomplete journey, with no solution to reach our final destination (Seoul).
Since then:
- Can’t modify flights online (technical error every time) - Can’t get help via chat or WhatsApp - Phone support is unreachable, and the usual French number isn’t working right now
We don’t want a refund. We just want to be rerouted to Seoul, as our original ticket promised.
We’re flexible:
- On dates (we can leave on March 21 or 22 instead of the 23rd) - On the itinerary (different layovers if needed)
Have any of you dealt with this before? Do you know how to unlock a booking in this case or get a rerouting? We’re considering going straight to the airport to resolve it at the Qatar Airways counter....

We just received an email from Volotea saying our flight time has changed (by more than 2 hours).
The email states "you can request a free date change."
If I change the date, will the flight price stay the same as the original price, or will I have to pay the difference?
Specifically: Our flight on the 7th is 46.25 €, and the one on the 8th is 92.51 €. If we switch to the 8th, how much will we pay?
When I request the date change to the 8th, it says "No additional fees."
