Bonjour, je souhaite faire des études d'Arts Visuels à l'université SVA (School of Visual Arts) à New York. Je vais passer en terminale L (spécialité Anglais approfondie/Arts Plastiques Facultatif) et je ne sais pas si je vais faire des études dans cette université après mon année de terminale car je sais que je n'aurais pas assez de temps pour économiser de l'argent afin d'aider mes parents à payer le cursus de 4 ans. Il y a un an et quelque mois, j'étais venu sur ce forum afin que l'on m'éclaire aussi sur le même sujet, mais mes ambitions ont changé (je voulais étudier le cinéma). On m'avait dit que je pouvais faire une licence d'Anglais à l'école Bordeaux III pendant 3 ans et de partir faire mes études aux USA après, ça me permettrait d'être parfaitement bilingue car j'adore l'anglais, je le parle tout le temps et j'ai un excellent niveau. Cependant, je doute que la licence d'Anglais soit avantageux car si je dois en faire une, mon but serait alors de travailler en temps que professeur d'Anglais, ou alors interprète, traducteur. Justement, ce n'est en aucun cas mon but de travailler dans ce domaine. Mon but est bien entendu de devenir graphiste aux Etats Unis.
Donc voilà, à travers ce topic, j'aimerais que vous me conseillez sur ce qui serait le mieux pour moi afin d'étudier les arts visuels aux Etats Unis, je sais que c'est assez difficile pour y arriver, surtout au niveau des paperasses et notamment au niveau de l'argent et du VISA. Je sais aussi que j'atteindrai mon but un jour ou l'autre avec de la volonté et de l'acharnement mais pour y arriver il me faut tout d'abord, maintenant pour pouvoir y réfléchir des conseils. Des conseils je sais que je peux en avoir de la part d'une conseillère d'orientation mais c'est la fin de l'année, le seul moyen pour en obtenir tout de suite et de créer un topic sur voyageforum.com et d'avoir des réponses venant de conseillers.

Perso je suis partie en community college, c'est pas très spécialisé pendant les deux premières années mais les deux dernières du Bachelor tu te spécialise. Je te conseille de bien perfectionner ton anglais avant de partir car tu dois maitriser un minimum la langue afin de pouvoir suivre les cours sur place.
Si tu es motivé, il n'y a que dans une école qui enseigne l'art que tu peux te faire des contact et te créer un réseau, c'est à dire ce qu'il y a de plus important pour percer dans ce monde.

Est que toi tu as pu bénéficié d'aides financières, de bourses ou quelques choses qui a pu aider un peu ton porte monnaie ?

En fait non je n'ai pas spécialement bénéficié de bourse d'aide. Il faut savoir qu'un community college comme je fais coute beaucoup moins cher qu'une Université classique aux USA. Il faut compter 5 000€ l'année, et c'est ce qui m'a permis de partir.
Salut, je me suis un peu renseigné sur les community college, c'est sûr que c'est vraiment avantageux au niveau du prix mais pas seulement, car on obtient déjà, au bout de deux ans, un associate degree et ensuite en université un bachelor degree.

Si tu veux partir aux étudier aux Etats-Unis, tu peux toujours obtenir des aides en passant par des organismes. Moi c'est ce que j'ai fait, je suis partie faire un master dans une université américaine pendant un an. Il est vrai que les coûts sont très élevés et les démarches administratives parfois compliquées, mais avec l'aide de l'organisme j'ai pu obtenir une bourse d'études importante et j'ai reçu de l'aide pour l'obtention du visa.
Tu peux partir étudier dans une université pour environ $14000 par an ou en community college pour un prix entre 4000 et 9000 euros par semestre (toujours cours, logement et repas inclus). En revanche, tu ne peux faire que 2 ans dans le community college, et après avoir obtenu ton diplôme, l'associate's degree, tu peux transférer vers une université.

J'ai bien réfléchis et je suis maintenant à quelques mois du BAC, je me suis décidé à faire une licence en langues étrangères appliquées à Pessac, si tout va bien. Je souhaiterais en fin de compte devenir interprète et à la fin de la licence partir un an dans le pays de la langue que j'étudie, c'est à dire l'anglais donc dans un des pays anglo-saxons qui me conviendrait. Il me reste au final 3 ans, si tout va bien pour décider où j'irais: j'ai pensé à faire une extension aux États Unis, pour au moins voir comment la vie universitaire se passe là-bas. Je verrais bien où le destin me mène.
En tout cas, cela me fait grandement plaisir de voir que l'on peut obtenir de nombreuses réponses à nos questions.

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
