Je viens à l’instant de m’inscrire sur ce forum et suis impatient d’avoir des réponses à mes questions.
Pour que vous compreniez bien, je vais donc commencer par planter le décor.
Voilà. J’ai 52 ans, trois enfants (21, 24 et 30 ans). Je travail en dans le domaine de la recherche et enseignement médical dans une grande université Bruxelloise.
D’ici une dizaines d’années je prendrais ma retraite avec un salaire mensuel confortable (+/- 2500 Euros) et un capital de départ de +/- 150000 Euros.
Je suis également propriétaire de ma maison que j’ai faite construire dans un quartier résidentiel à la campagne (1998 – valeur 150000Euros à ce moment).
Si je cite ces chiffres, c’est simplement par soucis de savoir si l’ensemble de mon capital (soit je vent la maison, soit je la loue, ce que je préfèrerais afin de laisser un héritage à mes enfants, et elle me rapporte un revenu mensuel) pourrait me permettre de vivre correctement et décemment en Polynésie ?

Tout est possible mais est lié au style de vie que vous désirez pour votre retraite.
Les produits auxquels vous êtes habitués seront très chers car importés. Au bout de chaque mois cela fera une différence à ce qu'il vous reste comme argent de poche pour aller en Nouvelle Zélande / Australie, histoire de briser l'isolement. Les îles sont soit volvaniques ou de corail, donc pas de champs à perte de vue pour faire pousser vos céréales, fruits et légumes habituels. Le marché de Papeete offre beaucoup de variétés mais il ne se reproduit pas dans toutes les îles.
Peut-être un compromis ? Garder et louer votre maison en Europe pendant 1 an ou même 2 ans ? jusqu'à ce que vous soyez absolument sûrs de rester en Polynésie.
Y prendre sa retraite est un rêve pour beaucoup et ils/elles adorent mais l'isolement au beau milieu du Pacifique n'est pas pour tout le monde alors ils repartent.

En fait, si je décide de partir et de quitter ma Belgique natale, je me doute bien que ce n’est pas pour retrouver la copie conforme de mes habitudes en Polynésie. Non, ce serait justement pour avoir un changement de vie radical.
Mon style de voyage a d’ailleurs toujours été orienté dans ce sens. Je n’ai jamais aimé les hôtels cinq étoiles avec ses chambres climatisées et ou l’on retrouve la même cuisine que dans le resto qui est à 100 m de cher sois à la maison. Mes vacances ont toujours été très « couleur local ». Donc, troquer mes champs de céréales contre des récifs de corail ne me dérange pas vraiment, que du contraire.
L’idée de louer ma maison ici en Europe et de partir pour un an ou deux en guise de « test » n’est pas une mauvaise idée.
Donc, pour vous, avec les moyens que je décris, cela pourrait être réalisable ?!
Le problème (entre autre chose) c’est que je n’ai absolument aucune idée de quel côté me dirigé. Y a-t-il des endroits moins touristiques (sans être complètement perdu non plus) ? Archipel de la société, archipel des tuamotu, archipel des australes ????
L'idéal, puisque a priori tu as les moyens de tes ambitions.... : Veni vidi Vinci : Viens pendant un mois pour découvrir l'archipel ou l'île qui te convient le mieux, trouves toi une maison et installes toi😉😉
Par exemple : A Bora, île soit disant "Touristique" 😎 Tu peux trouver une maison (des maisons) à louer à l'année sur le motu (ilot qui forme le récif autour de l'île) avec zéro touristes, zéro voisins......Et l'océan pour horizon d'un coté et l'île de Bora et son lagon de l'autre.....Mais il te faudra le permis bateau pour rentrer chez toi😏

Location à l’année. Je crois que c’est vers ce genre de solution que je vais me diriger pour commencer mes investigations sur place.
Quand au permis bateau, ce n’est pas un problème, je suis même près à apprendre à piloter un sous marin si cela s’avère nécessaire !

10 ans....!!!! mais vous avez le temps de venir 10 fois avant de décider où, vous installer en PF... et dans 10 ans... que sera devenu le "Peï"... Dieu seul le sait...et encore!!! Peut-être même que 100€ vous suffiront pour vivre où peut-être qu'il vous en faudra 10 000. Bien malin, celui qui peut vous donner des conseils au jour d'aujourd'hui. et est-ce que dans 10 ans 2500€ même Belgique sera une retraite confortable????!!!????

Toutes ma vie durant, mes projet on toujours vu le jour très longtemps avant de les concrétisés (ou pas). Je les peaufines, leurs laisse le temps de mûrir, de s’épanouir, de prendre forme. Je n’aime pas faire les choses à la hâte ou sur un coup de tête !
Mon intention est, en effet, d’aller passe quelques fois des petites vacance en PF pour mieux me rendre compte sur place.
J’ai lu quelque part que pour l’obtention de ce permis implique, pour une personne désireuse de prendre ça retraite en PF, un dépôt de 40.000 $ par ans pendant une période de trois ans sur un compte dans une banque Polynésienne.
Qu’en est-il exactement ? Et si cette info est correcte, est-ce que le fait d’acheter une maison (d’au moins 120.000 $) peu compter comme apport ?

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
