What's the best route from Opuwo to Divundu?

Hi everyone, we’ll be in Namibia in November and need to make the Opuwo to Divundu trip over 2 days. Is the best route the northern one via Oshakati, Eenhana, Rundu, and Divundu? If so, where’s a good halfway campsite (we’ve got a rooftop tent) or guesthouse?

Or should we go Opuwo, Oshakati, Tsumeb, then Rundu, staying somewhere like Zuri Camp in Tsumeb—or another spot? It’s a bit of a detour, but it gives us more options for safe overnight accommodation...

Thanks in advance to anyone who knows the area and can help out!

Hi, Personally, I'd go via Tsumeb, with an overnight stop in Tsumeb or Grootfontein. Since there's a lot of driving (I hope you're sharing the driving), I'd book a guesthouse. We really like the HH820 in Grootfontein. Are you skipping Etosha completely?

Thanks Christian! We know Namibia well—this’ll be our 7th trip... turns out I only have 2 days to get from Opuwo to Divundu. That’s a lot of driving, which is why I wanted to split the route into two 300 km stretches, but apparently there’s no accommodation halfway unless we go via Tsumeb... hence my question.

OK, I see what you mean now. But that’s way more than 2 × 300 km. It’s at least 900 km. At least via Tsumeb (1,000 km), you stay on roads in good condition.
