Nous hésitons entre deux hôtels à Bayahibe pour un départ en mars 2010.
A savoir, le Thomas Cook village( Grand Catalonia) ou le Oasis Canoa.
Avez vous des avis à nous donner pour nous aider à prendre notre décision?
Je suis allée deux fois à l'Oasis Canoa en 2004 sous le nom de Coral Canoa et en 2009.
1h50 pour se rendre à l’hôtel en bus de Punta Cana si vous n'atterrissez pas à la Romana.
J'ai eu le bloc 6 face à la mer et vue sur la piscine. J’étais très contente.
Il y a une section de l’hôtel loué par un club italien. Ils ont leur propre buffet, spectacle. Ils logent dans les blocs 10, 11, 12.
Il y a un petit mini-putt. Ce qui fait le cachet de l’hôtel, c’est le petit étang avec ses villas et ses petits ponts devant le buffet. Le matin quand on va déjeuner c’est très agréable de passer devant ce petit étang.
Pour les restos, ils sont tous bons. Le resto mexicain a été remplacé par le restaurant japonais. Très beau resto moderne. Le resto sur la plage a été reconstruit. Il est divisé en deux. Le snack Mangus et le resto à la carte Fogon. Le Mare est devenu le Fogon. Il y a le bar La Guira. Nous pouvions allés à l’italien et au Fogon sans réservation. Pour le japonais il fallait réserver. Le buffet est bien aussi. Thème différent chaque soir. Les italiens ont leur propre buffet du côté du Veraclub, il se nomme Santa Fe grill, il est situé devant le bloc 12. Nous ne pouvions pas aller au resto des italiens.
Resto plage Mangus le midi: hot dog, hamburger, T.bone à l’occasion, shop de porc, poulet, pizza etc.
Chambre: Très bon matelas. 2 litres d’eau par jour. À tous les jours j’avais une lettre à mon nom m’indiquant la météo et le thème du buffet pour le lendemain. Plusieurs fois Giancarlo de la réception m’a appelé pour savoir si tout était bien dans la chambre. À l’arrivée nous avions une assiette de fruits et nos serviettes de plage. Le seul hic, l’air climatisé est très bruyant. Ça m’est arrivé de l’arrêter pour dormir.
Bonne animation. Mes activités pétanque tous les jours avec des européens et mes cousins les français qui aiment bien badiner à la pétanque.
La plage: La première fois que j’y suis allée, ils commençaient à installer les blocs de ciment le long de la corde. Les blocs longent la corde. Il y en a des deux côtés de la corde. Devant le bloc 12 quand vous allez de l’autre côté de la corde et des blocs, vous avez pied. J’ai été agréablement surprise de voir tous les poissons qui s’y sont installés.
La meilleure place pour se baigner c’est devant la bâtisse du buffet des italiens. Pas de roches dans l’eau que du beau sable. Pas besoin de soulier à cet endroit. J’ai fait du catamaran seule avec mon amoureux pratiquement tous les jours.
Spectacle: lière semaine M. Jackson vu par mon mari, très bon selon ses dires. 2e semaine très beau spectacle de cirque avec professionnel sur le thème d’Alegria et bon spectacle de magie. Le dernier soir je me suis invitée chez les italiens car ils ont leur propre spectacle pour voir un spectacle de lipsting qui était très bien fait.

J'envisage moi aussi de me rendre du coté de Bayahibé au printemps et cette discussion m'intéresse forcémment, peut tu argumenter ton choix ?
D'autre part je me pose une question, peut on envisager de se rendre à pied à Bayahibé ou Dominicus à partir d'un de ces 2 hotels, lequel semble le plus proche d'une zone d'animation pour se promener sans pour autant prendre un véhicule ?
bonjour😉 magellan, je ne suis pas sur ce forum pour dénigrer, mais le canoa m as semblé a l abandon, plage et piscine non néttoyée (feuilles, algues, déchets...), transat non rangés... pour ce qui est du thomas cook il est petit mais super agréable et en plus francophone. Et oui effectivement tu peut te rendre a bayahibé a pied, et il y a aussi a 15 mn a pied une petite ville (ou village) , ou tu peut te promener sans soucis. Pour info les deux hotels sont cote a cote. Voila n hésite pas si besoin et bonne vacances😎
Il y a une différence notoire c'est la distance, en effet le Canoa est à l'écart du village par contre la piscine est magnifique et surtout au bout de la plage il y a peu de cailloux et surtout une partie sauvage absolument sublime et l'hotel est au niveau de l'eau.
Pour le Thomas Cook il est à proximité de Dominicus. La plage est trés pentue et il y a beaucoup de roches dans l'eau et beaucoup de transats sur le sable.
Les deux hôtels sont à moitié italiens.
Merci pour vos réponses mais j'avoue avoir un peu de mal à suivre le fil de la discussion concernant la possibilité à partir d'un de ces hôtels de faire un tour à pied sur les "patelins" les plus proches.
D'un coté on peut se ballader à pied à Bayahibé ou Dominicus, d'un autre coté c'est pas possible, d'un coté les hôtels sont juste à coté, et quand tu dis LydieT "Il y a une différence notoire c'est la distance ..." j'imagine que tu fais référence à ces 2 hôtels, alors au moment de conclure ce post j'avoue avoir l'esprit bien embrouillé sur le sujet 😕.
Simple la Catalonia est dans la zone de Dominicus et le Canoa est au bout de la route à 2, 5km à pieds de l'autre qui est lui même à 2km par la rute du centre de Dominicus

j'interviens tardivement, mais pour moi le choi ne se pose pas au niveau de l'hotel (ce sont tous les 2 de bons hotels), mais au niveau de ce que tu recherches.
De mémoire j'avais aussi un moment envisagé d'alelr au Thomas Cook mais après avoir compris que c'est un truc très ambiance Club de Vacances-darladiladada-les Bronzés, je me suis dit que c'était pas pour moi, qui souhaitais buller tranquillement au bord de l'eau
Je suis donc allé au Canoa : aucun regret 😉

Je ne veux pas mêler ton choix mais as-tu regardé le Iberostrar hacienda dominicus, c'est le plus bel hôtel de bahayibe mais il est plus honéreux. Peu importe l'endroit que tu choisiras les plages ne sont pas celles de Punta cana tu ne pourra prendre de belle marche. L'eau est tres belle c'est la mer des caraïbes.

Hey, I’d like to know which hotel in the south doesn’t force you to wake up at 4 AM just to reserve a shady chair, whether it’s at the beach or the pool.
I wanted to share a great discovery in the Marakele area because, in the end, this park doesn’t get talked about much compared to Kruger, even though it’s really worth the detour.
We discovered Cypiro Leopard Lodge, right next to Marakele National Park in the Waterberg. It’s a small property with just a few villas and suites, so it’s nothing like the big, crowded lodges. What we loved most was the feeling of being truly at the end of the world—lots of space, silence, and almost no one around.
And yet, it’s only about 3 hours from Johannesburg. Once you leave Joburg, the road is pretty straightforward, and you quickly find yourself in a much wilder Africa.
Marakele National Park was a huge surprise for us. There are plenty of animals, the Big Five are present, but best of all, very few people. At times, we drove for quite a while without seeing another car. It’s such a change from parks where you sometimes end up with 15 cars around one animal.
The landscapes are also stunning, with the Waterberg mountains, plains, and beautiful views from some of the trails.
We also learned on-site that Marakele is known for its very large Cape vulture colony—around 800 breeding pairs. When you climb into the mountains and see them soaring above, it’s pretty impressive.
The entire Waterberg region is actually a UNESCO-recognized biosphere reserve, and you quickly understand why once you’re there.
As for Cypiro, it’s a lodge that was recently taken over by French owners—really nice and approachable. The place is quite exclusive since there are very few accommodations. The villas and suites each have their own private pool, a wood-fired hot bath (like a KolKol), a braai, and an outdoor fireplace.
Evenings are especially lovely, especially with the peace and quiet all around.
Another thing we found really convenient: you can organize your stay however you like.
You can come self-catering and cook for yourself. There’s a supermarket in the nearby small town, practically on the way in, so you can do your shopping before arriving without making a big detour.
Or you can ask them to organize everything with breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Their chef, Ernest, cooks really well, and it lets you completely unwind for a few days.
We liked being able to alternate: some quiet meals on our own and others prepared for us.
That’s actually one of the things we appreciated here—it’s not an ultra-formal lodge where everything is scheduled at fixed times. You can head out early to Marakele, come back for lunch, enjoy the pool, go back out in the late afternoon, then have a braai or a relaxed dinner in the evening.
In terms of price, we also found the value for money really good for this level of accommodation and especially for the very private feel of the place. Sometimes it feels like you’re in a much more expensive lodge.
If you’re looking for lots of activity and dozens of people around you, this probably isn’t the right spot.
But for peace, wildlife, nature, wide-open spaces, and that feeling of being a little alone in the world, we absolutely loved it.

And if anyone knows Marakele or the Waterberg well, I’d love to hear about other spots to discover in the area.
While digging through the archives 🔍, we discovered a 19th-century journal 📜 bearing the name: "Le Petit Baigneur, weekly journal of beaches, spa towns, and thermal resorts in the South of France", published as early as 1886. Its motto? "All for the baths and by the baths" 🏖️ — what a program!
We found the name so amusing that we chose it to rename our hotel: Hôtel Le Petit Baigneur!
140 years later, we’re carrying on this seaside tradition of the South of France in our own way 🏊♂️ — with a few fewer crinolines, but just as much love for the seaside. 😊

I found a hotel, the Kappa Club Crystal Bay Resort, and online reviews for this hotel recommend a guide named Omar. I contacted him via WhatsApp, and he's offering a 2-day, 1-night safari in Tsavo East, a "blue safari," and a Marafa Canyon day trip for 400 € per person.
I’m asking for help from people who’ve already done these excursions because I have no idea what these offers entail.

6. A nice hotel (3 or 4 stars) but no need for an ultra-palace

To add to the info in the title, I’m open to various activities, but ideally, it’d include snorkeling, hiking, dance (every evening if possible!), group tours, etc. I’d love to meet people (not necessarily a man—just people in general!). You can’t pay online there—you just submit a reservation request (enquiry).
The second is the NWR (Namibia Wildlife Resorts) site: https://www.nwr.com.na, where you *can* pay online.
Is the latter one reliable?

Bonjour nous arriverons dimanche 5 mai ( à partir de 16h25) à l'aéroport de Punta Cana pour profiter d'un séjour que mon amie à gagner à l’hôtel Gran Bahia Principe La Romana.
L'avion est offert par la compagnie aérienne, l'hôtel je pense par la chaine hôtelière, mais aujourd'hui je m’inquiète du transfert car aucune info et j'apprends que rien n'est prévu.
D’après ce que j'ai vu le dernier car expreso part de Punta Cana à 16h00
Y-a t'il d'autres moyens de transports collectif (guagua) qui puisse faire le trajet ou au moins nous avancer jusqu'à La Romana ou San Pedro de Marcoris et je pense qu'on finira le trajet en taxi.
Si c'est trop compliqué ça sera navette privée mais on est plus "lonely planet " que navette privée et hôtel tout inclus.
Bonjour j ai effectué des reservations d hebergement sur l amerique du sud par l intermediaire de Booking en fevrier dernier pour novembre 2020 . A ce jour elles n apparaissent plus sur mon compte Booking , j en ai informé par mail le service clients mais ce dernier ne repond pas ...donc impossible d annuler ces reservations....Quelqu un a t il connu ce probleme et l a t il resolu ???
