Je me permets d'ouvrir un nouveau sujet concernant Quebec car, après quelques recherches sur le forum, je n'ai pas toutes les questions à mes réponses ;)
Pour la petite histoire...
J'envisage courant octobre de quitter la France (pour une durée indéterminée, minimum 1 mois et peut-être beaucoup plus) afin de découvrir d'autres pays, d'autres cultures et par la même occasion d'y travailler.
Je ne suis pas encore fixé sur la destination, ceci sera mon premier "gros voyage", et je souhaiterai partir vers une destination pas trop "radicale" (j'éviterai par exemple la Thaïlande dans un premier temps pour ne pas être perdu ^^).
Mon choix se porte donc sur le Canada et plus particulièrement sur la ville de Quebec qui semble être un excellent compromis pour une première immersion dans un nouveau pays.
Cependant, j'aurai plusieurs questions.
- Est-il facile de trouver un job à Quebec ? Je souhaiterai vraiment travailler sur le nouveau territoire ou je m'exilerai. Je suis diplômé en France dans le domaine des biotechnologies (Biologie moléculaire, Biochimie ect) et me suis récemment fait une excellente expérience dans un grand groupe Américain. Je suis ouvert aussi aux autres types d'emplois.
- Est-il facile de se loger à Quebec ? Auberge de jeunesse ? Collocation ? Est-ce que tout ceci est relativement accessible pour un nouveau arrivant ?
- La ville est-elle "jeune" ? Sous-entendu animée, vivante, agréable à vivre ?
- Comment qualifier le niveau de vie d'un travailleur sur le territoire Canadien et à Quebec ? Je n'ai aucune idée des salaires notamment...
- La "paperasserie" ne présente t-elle pas trop de problèmes ? J'ai pu lire sur le forum que des papiers pour une immigration sont relativement longs à avoir. D'ailleurs, je ne sais pas si les procédures ont changé ces dernières années, si vous avez des infos à me communiquer sur le sujet, je suis preneur.
Je serai heureux de pouvoir avoir vos expériences et pourquoi pas prendre contact avec des résidents de la ville de Quebec.

Oublie québec pour la biotech et vise plutôt Montréal. Le secteur s'est beaucoup ralenti mais il reste encore des opportunités.

Oui. tu trouveras sans mal une coloc. Regarde sur craigslist

Montréal/Québec... oui rien à redire. ensuite les gouts et les couleurs cela ne se discutent pas. Perso, j'aime la ville de québec pour une journée en tant que touriste et pas plus. Plus de monde et plus de chose à mon gout sur Montréal. Autre mentalité aussi.

C'est toujours aussi long et si tu crois immigrer dans les prochains mois, tu rêves en couleur ! Même pour un PVT (1 an) cela prend quelques mois je crois et il y a des quotas qui de mémoire sont peut-être déjà atteint pour l'année. A suivre. Regarde sur les sites d'immigration canada et québec. ils sont très bien fait, mais oui, faut lire et faire un peu ses devoirs 😉
J'ai 19 ans, j'habite à Québec et je suis étudiante. Je ne crois pas pouvoir t'en dire long sur l'emploi, mais peut-être que ce site pourra t'aider, www.emploiquebec.net . Celui-ci http://www.cnt.gouv.qc.ca/ t'informera sur les normes du travail. Je crois que les travailleurs au Québec sont bien protégés, mais je ne pourrais pas t'en dire plus sur les salaires comparativement à ailleurs.
Québec est très jeune, surtout l'été, c'est un paradis. Surtout depuis quelques années, les festivals et événements s'enchaînent sans arrêt. Tu peux te renseigner notamment sur le Festival d'été de Québec, le Moulin à images de Robert Lepage, Les chemins invisibles du Cirque du Soleil, etc!... Ce qui est dommage c'est que tu arrives en octobre, quand les belles feuilles tombent et que ca devient tout gris jusqu'en avril-mai... Par contre tu vas peut-être pouvoir vivre le Carnaval de Québec, le Redbull Crashed Ice et autres... Mais sinon, mis à part les festivals ou événements, comme disait le post précédent, Montréal c'est peut-être aussi dynamique. Le système de transport en commun craint par contre à Québec ahahah. Je te suggère le vélo, quandtu restes en ville tout se fait à vélo, mais bien sûr en octobre ca se fait moins bien. À Québec on a parfois l'impression d'être dans un gros village. Je trouve que les gens sont parfois moins froids qu'à Montréal (ça y est la guerre Montréal-Québec est recommencée ;). Bref si tu ne veux pas être trop dépaysé mais t'amuser, Québec c'est l'endroit parfait.
Les logements sont relativement faciles à trouver. Il n'y a pas grand-chose pour Québec sur Craigslist, par contre j'irais jeter un coup d'oeil sur kijiji: http://quebec.kijiji.ca/ . Les auberges de jeunesse doivent être pleines en été mais en octobre il e devrait y avoir aucun problème.

Quant à moi, je m'en vais probablment quelque part en France, peut-être plus au sud en janvier pour travailler quelques mois puis me balader en Europe (c'est encore flou). As-tu des suggestions ??

Our departure time is getting closer (we have less than 2 years left—it’s both a long time and so short!). To start preparing seriously, we’ll need quite a bit of info. If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
