However, Flickr also offers a service that has its place in a professionalization project: not only can I test the popularity of my images by submitting them to public critique, but I can also be contacted by potential clients, which has already resulted in sales... If Flickr makes a profit thanks to me, I therefore call that a fair exchange...

Hello,

You’re no longer in the right FORUM.

This one is just a travel forum. There are a few others where you can exchange ideas (with high-level photographers).

Safe travels, Vincent.

Completely agree, that’s actually what I said earlier! (and I say this without being bothered again !😎)

Pvince’s approach is still interesting though!

Hello, I’m reviving this discussion because I’d love to hear from those of you who’ve earned income from your work—specifically, what travel photography has actually brought in for you.

I’ve heard about several avenues: - Sharing sites: From what I gather, you don’t make money directly, but you hope to get your work noticed? (Though isn’t there a risk of having your photos stolen?) - Pro sites: You hand over your work to a sort of “publisher,” who makes it available to “clients” (which implies a large output of professional-quality work)? - Online photo contests: You hope to get noticed, but usually, you give up your rights in the process? - Personal blog showcasing your work: How do you stand out in the sea of blogs out there?

Personally, I don’t see how anyone can *live* off this—maybe just earn a little side income?

Personally, I don’t see how you can "live" off it, being a press correspondent... for an agency... salary plus %

Obviously, the rest seems like a hack job to me... and there are plenty of disappointments.......
