J'ai lu avec beaucoup d'interet cette rubrique concernant les voyages à l'etranger peu chère mais je ne trouve pas ce que je cherche.
En fait je suis un jeune voyageur et apres avoir un peu voyager en France et en Europe j'aimerai bien aller ailleurs mais toujours le même soucis ... Le prix.
En fait j'aimerai savoir comment vous faites pour partir aussi loin et pour pas chère?
Je ne gagne pas des cent et des mille et il y a toujours les frais "habituels" credits d'appart ou maison, loyers, eau electricité, impots ...
Comment fonctionnez vous pour trouver des billets d'avion, hotel à des prix attractifs... Je veux connaitre tous vos secrets :)
Quand je vais sur les sites du genre voyage-privée il y a des promos mais c'est encore chere et pour des petites durée et vu que c'est du haut de gamme c'est plutot des beau hotel et piscine.
si tu n'es pas lié aux vacances scolaires ce sera d'autant plus facile
il faut gueter les promos en s'inscrirant aux newsletters des compagnies que tu vises ( par exemple depuis qq temps par exemple british airways fait des soldes !!)
mettre des alertes sur des sites comme kayak et liligo
regarder tres regulierement et surtout une fois que tu a reperé la bonne affaire (car tu suis les prix depuis un bout de temps ) te decider TRES VITE
si tu habites pres d'un autre pays (allemagne , italie) regarde aussi au depart des villes frontalieres
(PS qd j'ai trouve des milan tokyo direct à 345 euros avec alitalia je n'ai pas traine ....)
pour les hotels ? car nous campons (et oui à 5 l'hotel c'est assez prohibitif sauf dans ceratins pays comme le SE asiatique)
je suis aussi inscrit aux newletters de british airways , lufthansa , vueling , brussels airlines (bon tarifs depuis toulouse)
en fait si je cherche un billet pour une destination precise je regarde quelles compagnies la deserve et je m'inscris (bien sur j'ai une adresse mail dedié à ce genre de demande commerciales )

Je suis de Bordeaux et c'est dommage qu'il n'y ait pas plus de voyage depuis Bordeaux.
A chaque fois les meilleurs offres sont au départ de Paris.
Sinon il y a aussi les enchères nouvelles frontières qui peuvent procurer de bonne offres mais le soucis est qu'il faut partir vite et pour peu de temps.
En fait toi tu procèdes comme ceci ?
Tu choisis à l'avance une destination (pays), ensuite tu recherches via les sites que tu m'as indiqué les meilleurs offres qui pourront être dispo ????
N'ayant jamais procédé de la sorte je trouve cela un peu aléatoire, partir du jour au lendemain en n'ayant rien prévu, ni hotel ou quoi que ce soit ....

ensuite nous sommes des campeurs donc une grosse voiture me suffit je ne reserve rien de plus (à part une premiere nuit d'hotel en cas d'arrivée tardive)
dans certains pays comme la malaisie par exemple je sais que je vais trouver un hebergement assez facilement donc je ne me tracasse pas j'achete le billets et je reserve eventuellement ensuite (un sejour dans une ile pour plonger par exemple)
Après, en règle générale, qui dit bas prix, dit peu de confort et je dis bien en règle générale parce que tu trouveras toujours un mec qui a trouvé 1 hôtel 12 étoiles pour 3€/semaine.
Si t'es prêt à réduire ton confort de vie et adopter le type de voyage "Routard", tu peux suivre ces conseils :
- Pour se déplacer : le stop, bus, le covoiturage http://www.covoiturage.fr/, compagnies low cost, guetter les bons plans du web (j'aime bien skyscanner aussi) => Il faut être patient et avoir le temps
- Pour dormir : couchsurfing, camping, auberge de jeunesse, habitant, camping sauvage, camping urbain (un peu dangereux cela dit)
- Pour visiter : marche à pied (randonnées nature et urbaines)
- Pour manger : marché, supermarché, épicerie
- Pour s'équiper : Acheter discount sur le Web (cdiscount, rueducommerce, amazon...), magasins de sport de grande distribution (decathlon,

J'ai des habitudes bretonnes, dans les 80/120 l'aller retour, avec en plus l'accès l'aéroport ; il m'arrive souvent d'en avoir pour plus cher que l'avion.
pour les pays que je connais quand je trouve un billet d'avion vraiment pas cher je prends sans hesiter
nous sommes 5 donc un vol à tokyo à 400 euros par exemple au lieu de 800 ça fait 2000 euros d'economie d'un coup
en etant seul le budget vol est peu etre moins important qu'en famille
ensuite pour le transport en louant une voiture(toujours en etant 5 avec des enfants grands qui payent le plein tarif !!) c'est souvent moins cher qu'en train
le camping c'est toujours moins cher que l'hotel : 150 euros une nuit en auberge de jeunesse au japon contre 20 euros de camping
je prepare en ce moment un budget pour une de mes filles qui veut aller en vacances dans un pays nordique l'ete prochain (elle veut savoir commbien ecomomiser dans l'année)
* j'ai commence par regarder l'aerien (trouvé une liaison toulouse stockholm à 145 euros avec brussels airlines ) je sais le prix va peut etre changer mais c'est un ordre d'idée
* vite fait un tour sur les AJ et campings à stockholm
* le budget transport sur place (metro et bus )
* la location d'un velo car elle veux faire du cyclocamping (la aussi la suede est le moins cher avec des velos à 40 euros la semaine)
* une idée du prix des campings

De mon côté je ne peux pas partir plus d'un mois à cause de mon boulot le max que je peux prendre est de 3 à grands max 4 semaines consécutives.
Tu apprends la langue dans une école pour étrangers où ? en France ou directement dans le pays en cours de visite ?

Je sais que de partir plus d'un mois est un luxe qu'on ne peux pas toujours se permettre. Je l'ai fait à une période de ma vie où je passais des examens et où je suivais les cours du cned. J'apprends la langue directement dans le pays. Ainsi je fais des rencontres de personnes habitant ailleurs dans le monde. Voilà comment je peux loger chez l'habitant. Evidemment, on rencontre un peu toujours les même nationalités : Américains du nord et du sud, Européens, Chinois, Japonais, Coréens et quelques africains issus des classes fortunées.
Pour l'avion, je ne traque pas la meilleure offre. Pour un Paris-Madrid pourquoi pas mais si c'est pour faire un Paris-Tokyo dans une boite à sardine non merci. De même, je ne fais aps confiance aux sites promo car à chaque fois que j'y ai jeté un oeil, c'était plus cher que sur le site de la compagnie.
Autre astuce, mais elle aussi uniquement valable pour les personnes n'ayant pas un job en CDI : travailler à l'étranger pendant quelques mois. Evidemment ça laisse moins de temps pour la bronzette sur la plage, mais on découvre vraiment le pays et surtout on revient avec de l'argent ;-)
Dernière chose : pour voyager économique : ne jamais partir avec un organisme.

- Coté destination: privilégier les pays proches et pas chers : Maghreb, Europe de l'est
Idée de voyage : HAMMAMET : Auberge de jeunesse : 3 euros /jour (centre ville, face à la mer, proche de commerces et sites touristiques), Repas y compris petit déjeuner : entre 10 et 15 euros/j, transport : bus : 70 centimes le ticket.

OK mais regarde l'aerien pour les iles francaises il y a peu de concurence aerienne donc les prix restent elevés

comment je voyage : je vais chercher mon billet d'avion sur un comparateur , si tu tapes comparateur de vol sur ton clavier , tu vas en avoir une foultitude . Pour ma part , je suis habitué à easyvol et bravo fly . Tu dois absolument commencé à chercher deux ou trois mois avant ta date de départ ainsi tu auras les tarifs les plus bas . Si c'est moins cher au départ de Paris , je prends un billet de train aussi , deux mois avant , avec un pied de pilote ( les grèves et retards euh , j'suis mauvaise langue ) . Prévoir aussi un départ et un retour en milieu de semaine . Pour info deux mois avant j'ai un La Baule/Paris pour 22 euros , Paris/Marrakech par exemple A/R dans les 80 euros .

Quelque fois, tu trouve des séjour a 199€ en demi pension, ou 299€ en tout compris ! ça vaut vraiment le coup, je suis parti en turquie pour 299€ une fois, et je n'ai pas été déçu du voyage !
Sinon, pour voyager en europe, je regarde souvent les vols avec ryanair ou easyjet, et prend un hotel en regardant sur budgetplaces.

Three years after exploring northern Argentina and Chile, my two travel buddies and I want to discover the southern part of these two countries.
We’re traveling on a budget, backpacker-style, favoring public transport and modest accommodations, but we don’t hesitate to splurge a little when it’s worth it.
The classic spots that have been fueling our dreams: Bariloche, the lakes, Chiloé, El Chaltén, Torres del Paine, Perito Moreno, El Calafate, Fitz Roy, Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego, and wrapping up in Valparaíso.
We’ll take a round-trip flight to Santiago, then I’m thinking of a one-way flight from Santiago to Punta Arenas. From there, we’ll explore and do several day hikes in the south, including Ushuaia and, if possible, Tierra del Fuego.
Then we’ll head back north by bus to Bariloche and the lakes, followed by Chiloé, then a bus to Santiago and Valparaíso.
Based on your experience, could you help me figure out the best way to structure this trip and maybe suggest some ideas?

We’re a young couple planning to travel to South Africa after spending about three weeks in Namibia. We’ll arrive in Cape Town around mid-December, with no fixed travel duration (though our budget will eventually set a limit).
After browsing through the forum, we’ve realized the country is packed with incredible spots, which makes choosing an itinerary tough. We’re looking for stunning landscapes, hikes, and so on. So, we’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences.
When we arrive in Cape Town, we’d like to settle in and take it easy until New Year’s, exploring at a relaxed pace. We know this period coincides with South African holidays—does that make finding accommodations (availability/prices) more difficult? Do you think it’s possible to stay in a nice place for about 15 days without aiming for the most upscale neighborhoods? Maybe somewhere a bit outside Cape Town, like Fish Hoek, and just visit the city occasionally.
After that, we’ll have plenty of time (about 2 to 2.5 months) to explore the country. We’d like to take our time. In your opinion, is it better to focus on the Cape Town region, or is it reasonable to consider more distant areas like the Drakensberg or Blyde River Canyon? Can everything be done by car if we take our time, or are domestic flights sometimes more practical?

After exploring southern Peru in 2024 with your help, we’d love to head north next. There’ll be 5 or 6 of us:
1. Arrive in Lima in the evening.
2. Visit Lima and take a flight at 6:35 PM to Tarapoto.
3, 4, 5. Spend a few days there to trek in a reserve (Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve) or somewhere else.
6. From Tarapoto to Chachapoyas—either by overnight bus, daytime bus, or private car.
7. In Chachapoyas: Gocta Waterfall, Sonche Canyon, and walk back to town.
8. Head to Kuelap citadel, Revash, and arrive in Leymebamba.
9. Leymebamba museum, then route to Cajamarca.
10. Cajamarca hot springs, overnight bus to Trujillo or Chiclayo—or do both.
11, 12, 13. Visit and explore the area.
14. Overnight bus back to Lima.
15. Lima.
16. Depart at 8 PM for France.

My planned route: Senegal → Gambia → Sierra Leone/Liberia (if logistics work out) → Côte d'Ivoire → Ghana → Togo → Benin → Cameroon → Gabon → Kenya (Masai Mara) → Uganda (Bwindi gorillas) → Rwanda → Tanzania (Kili + Serengeti + Zanzibar) → Mozambique → Malawi → Zambia (Victoria Falls) → Botswana → Namibia → South Africa (Cape Town). Madagascar as a bonus if timing/budget allows from Mozambique.
I’m not a backpacking newbie—I’ve done several trips in Europe and I’m familiar with the lifestyle, hostels, local transport, etc. But Africa is my first big adventure on this continent, and I’ve got some very concrete questions I’d love feedback on from people who’ve been there.
🎭 My big dilemma: flexibility vs. pre-organized work
What matters most to me is NOT rushing through. If I feel good somewhere, I’ll stay longer. If a region doesn’t click, I’ll cut it short. That seems totally incompatible with having pre-booked work or volunteer gigs, yet I need that income to stretch my budget.
I’m torn between two approaches:
Option A: The mixed rhythm: 3-4 weeks of volunteering in a country (free accommodation, full immersion), then 1-2 countries in classic backpacker "vacation" mode, then another mission somewhere, etc. This gives a breathing rhythm and avoids burnout from non-stop volunteering.
Option B: The continuous flow: finding gigs as I go, from the previous country, contacting hosts 2-3 weeks in advance with a flexible date range. Keeping maximum spontaneity but never arriving anywhere without a safety net.
Have you tried either? What actually works on the ground in Africa?
🌍 What I’m really looking for in this trip
Not just the classic tourist spots. I want to see the country as it is—eating at local joints, taking local transport (bush taxis, minibuses, sept-places), staying with locals when possible. The big reserves and safaris are part of the plan (Masai Mara, Serengeti, Okavango), but just as much as hanging out in a residential neighborhood in Dakar, understanding how people really live.
Volunteering or work interests me for that reason too (not just for free lodging, but because it’s the deepest way to dive into a country). Working at a school in Ghana, a lodge in Kenya, a permaculture farm in Mozambique—I see it as an immersion that classic tourism can’t offer.

Now, after seeing and reading a bit everywhere, and with the first quotes for a 6/7-day safari, I’m shocked by the prices (like $2,250) for places like Maasai Mara, where entry alone costs $200 per person per day, plus fees for the driver and vehicle.
So if you have any recent great tips or contacts to share to help me out, I’d really appreciate it—because despite the costs, we’d still love to go, while keeping things reasonable.
The most plausible solution is probably renting a vehicle with a driver-guide.
