Pouvez vous me conseiller sur un trajet San Pedro de Atacama / Sud Lipez / Salar de Uyuni Auriez vous fait ce circuit ? Est-ce que je pourrais trouver sur place à San Pedro de Atacama une agence organisant ce genre de trip ? Ou est il préférable de réserver avant ?

Je n'ai pas envie de faire en bus : San Pedro de Atacama / Calama (1h30) + Calama / Uyuni (8h) + Uyuni et trip Sud Lipez -- Trop de transport !!!

Voyage sur plusieurs mois, donc j'ai mon temps Je pense etre à San Pedro de Atacam début novembre 2020

Bonjour, Comme beaucoup, nous n'avons pas la possibilité de prendre trois semaines de congé à une période autre que les mois de juillet et aout 😕 Nous savons que ce n'est pas la meilleure période pour visiter le Chili mais nous avons prévu, tout de même, de passer 4-5 jours à l'Ile de Pâques, une grosse semaine à SPA et dans l'extrême nord, et une grosse semaine dans le nord de la Patagonie. Parmi les excursions classiques de ces deux dernières régions, qu'est ce que nous pourrons et ne pourrons pas faire pendant l'hiver chilien ?

Hi there, I’m planning a trip with my partner (no kids this time—thanks, Grandma!) for two weeks to celebrate her 40th birthday. I’ve been thinking about Chile. We’re looking at leaving around September 18, 2027, starting in the south and returning in early April. Here’s what I had in mind:

8 nights in a van in the Lake District and the start of the Carretera Austral (up to the Chaitén area). We’re set to arrive in Puerto Montt around 2:00 PM. We don’t want to go too far south since we’re planning to explore the heart of Patagonia (Chile and Argentina) with the kids when they’re older. The idea is to spend 3 nights discovering the lakes (up to Cochamó) and 3 nights in Pumalín Park. I’ve also added two transition nights. 7 nights in the Atacama to experience another side of Chile (San Pedro), taking a domestic flight from Puerto Montt to Calama in the early afternoon. We’ll depart for France in the early evening from Santiago.

Nous avons prévu pour 2021 un tour du monde et nous avons environ 3 semaines au chili (hors ile de Paques). Il y a l'air d'avoir énormement de choses à faire et à voir dans l'extreme nord, et en avril ce n'est pas forcément la bonne saison en patagonie.

Notre premier itinéraire ressemble à ça : - Santiago 2 jours - Valparaiso 3 jours - Arica 1 jours - Putre / Parc Lauca / Salar de Surir etc 2 jours - Route jusque Iquique avec Matilla et Pica 1 jour - Iquique 1 jour - San Pedro De Atacama 5 jours - Route jusque Antofogasta 1 jours - Caldera 1 jour - Laguna Santa rosa / Salar Maricunga ... 1-2 jours - 1 journée off quelque part - Puis retour sur Calama pour partir à Uyuni

Est ce trop pour cette région du Chili ? Il est difficile de faire des choix, Ile de Chiloé, Puertto Montt, La patagonie... sur un autre voyage ?

Le phénomène a pris de l'ampleur et des pillages de grandes surfaces ont maintenant eu lieu aussi.

L'État d'Urgence a été déclaré, pour le moment, UNIQUEMENT EN CE QUI CONCERNE LA RÉGION MÉTROPOLITAINE, càd Santiago et les environs immédiats.

Mais. des manifestations ont actuellement lieu dans d'autres villes du Chili et la situation pourrait empirer encore.

La situation s'est fort dégradée ces dernières heures.

Bonjour à tous, Le voyage en Amérique du Sud se prépare, départ fin septembre 2020 pour 5 mois. Embarquement de mon pick up avec cellule ultra plate dans un conteneur direction Montevideo. Puis je pique au sud, direction Ushuaïa. C'est là que j'ai une interrogation comment remonter au Nord du Chili pour aller au sud de la Bolivie? Deux itinéraires possibles qui parfois se croisent la Ruta 40 en Argentine ou la Carretera Austral au chili? Peut-être certains ont fait les deux et leur avis serait sûrement intéressant. Hi, we’re planning a round trip from San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, to Salta, Argentina, in two months. On the way there, we’ll take the northern route via Susques, Route 27, then 52. But for the return, we were thinking of taking the southern route via San Antonio de los Cobres, Route 51, then 23. Is it similar to the northern route in terms of road surface? How busy is it, and are there gas stations? Basically, should we be worried about doing it in an SUV that’s supposedly 4x4 but has regular road tires and no second spare wheel, obviously... I’ve seen that we can stop over in San Antonio de los Cobres. Thanks for your feedback. Raf.

For our trip in September 2025 from mid-September to early October (3 weeks), we’ve planned 8 days in San Pedro, then a transit night in Santiago, 8 days in Chilean Patagonia, and 3 days for Santiago/Valparaíso before heading back. Is it possible to easily explore with a rental car from a lodge based in Puerto Natales, including visiting Torres del Paine National Park? Or does that mean too much driving in a day, or would it be better to plan an overnight stay in the park or nearby?

We applied for our international driver’s permit in January 2025 for September, hoping to get it in time—I checked the forum about this. Regarding the car rental, do we really need a credit card (not debit) in the main driver’s name for the deposit?

How far in advance should we book entry tickets to the national parks for this period?

Hi there, I’m planning a 3-week trip to Patagonia and Chile at the end of March. I’m looking for a pretty chill itinerary that isn’t too tiring for health reasons, but still a nice trip... To avoid spending three weeks in the somewhat chilly Patagonia, we’re planning to head up to Valparaíso and the Atacama Desert. Here’s the itinerary: Arrival in Buenos Aires Flight to El Calafate (4 nights) Bus to Puerto Natales (1 night) Torres del Paine (4 nights) Santiago (1 night) (flight from Puerto Natales) Valparaíso (4 nights) San Pedro de Atacama (5 nights) Santiago (1 night) then flight to Paris I’m wondering whether it’s worth going all the way to Ushuaia. Sure, it’s a legendary destination, but is it as impressive as El Calafate and Torres del Paine? The other option would be to cut one night from Torres del Paine, Valparaíso, and San Pedro, and spend 3 nights in Ushuaia instead. Also, I’m a bit confused about whether an international driver’s permit is required to drive in Argentina and Chile. I’ve applied for one, but the processing times are really long, and I probably won’t have it before I leave... Thanks for your feedback, Marc

Le trajet serait Lima, Ica, Aréquipa, Cuscos, Micchu Picchu, Puno, La Paz, Sucre, Potosi, le Salar, Tupiza, Salta, Cafayate, Buenos Aeres et finir à Montévidéo. Quelqu'un pourrait il me conseiller une cie de Bus ou de privilégier le taxi pour ces différents trajets - Cusco La PAZ, Sucre Potosi Uyuni, Uyuni Tupiza, Tupiza Salta. Bonjour, Il n'est jamais trop tard pour rendre compte de son voyage. Le confinement me laisse enfin du temps pour le faire. Je suis parti le 17 août 2017 et je suis rentré le 7 février 2018. Entre temps, je suis allé en Argentine par cargo puis une fois sur ce continent, j'ai visité l'Uruguay, l'Argentine et le Chili. Durant tout ce voyage, j'ai tenu un carnet journalier. Here's our tentative itinerary: Day 1: Arrival in Santiago, then a flight the next day to Balmaceda where we'll pick up a rental car to reach Coyhaique. Day 3: Walk in the Coyhaique National Reserve, then continue to Puerto Chacabuco. Return to Coyhaique for the second night. Day 4: Drive to Villa Cerro Castillo for a hike in the national park. Continue to Puerto Tranquilo and stay there for 3 nights. Day 5: Boat tour on Laguna San Rafael. Day 6: Day trip to Monte San Valentin Glacier. Day 7: Excursion to the Marble Chapels, then drive to Puerto Guadal. We'll stay there for 3 nights. Day 8: Walk along Lago Carrera and return to Puerto Guadal. Day 9: Rio Baker Valley and, if possible, a glacier excursion. Day 10: Drive to Cochrane and hike in Tamango National Reserve. We'll stay 2 nights in Cochrane. Day 11: Walk in the Chacabuco Valley. Day 12: Drive to Caleta Tortel. We'll stay there for 2 nights. Day 13: Cruise in the Rio Baker delta. Day 14: Return to Cochrane. Day 15: Return to Balmaceda in two stages. Day 16: Continue the return journey. Day 17: Return the rental car and head back to Santiago.

After this, we're also planning to explore northern Santiago. I'll post about that part once I have a clearer idea of the route.

Je vais faire prochainement en novembre, la Carretera Austral en partant probablement de Puerto Montt. et descendre jusqu'à Villa O'Higgins et eventuellement remonter sur l'Argentine par la 40 jusqu'au lago Buenos Aires, puis revenir sur le Chili.

Qui peux me donner des infos, durée, type d'auto à louer (une Jimny est-elle suffisante), agence etc...

Ma fiancée et moi même avons fraichement débarqués sur le continent, en Guyane, il y a 2 mois. Initialement nous avions prévu, pour début 2020, de se faire un road-trip rando et faune au Costa Rica mais avec notre déménagement surprise à Cayenne on s'est finalement dit que ça risquait d’être un petit peu redondant avec la Guyane (Foret tropicale, jaguar, perroquets tout ça tout ça...). D'où l'Argentine ! 😉 Enfin plus précisément la Patagonie.

Nous projetons donc de partir 3 semaines en Argentine entre Février et mi-Mars.

L'idée serait de faire un road-trip de 2 semaines et demi en Patagonie, en van si possible, et de finir par un aller-retour de 2-3 jours aux chute d’Iguaçu.

Le mieux semble d'arriver à El Calafate, d'y louer un van et faire une boucle avec El Chalten, si possible Torres del paine, puis descendre sur la terre de feu et Ushuaïa.

Je voulais rapidement voir avec ceux qui ont déjà visité cette région, si ça semble réalisable ? Est-ce que vous avez des loueurs de vans à conseiller ou autres conseils en tout genre ?

Hi, I’m really surprised by the wide range of prices charged by car rental companies in Chile, so I’d like to know which type of vehicle is best suited for the roads in the Lake District: Puerto Montt and Ensenada, between Ensenada and Pucón, and between Pucón and Currarrehue, for example. I’m about to fulfill a dream that includes a trip to Patagonia between October and December 2026. I’ll be traveling solo.

My plan: - Take a boat from Puerto Montt to Puerto Natales (4-5 days) - Torres del Paine National Park (2-3 days) - Bus from Puerto Natales to Ushuaïa (1-2 days) - Exploring around Ushuaïa (3-4 days) - Cruise from Ushuaïa to Punta Arenas (Oct 31 - Nov 4) - Rent a vehicle and head back up to Puerto Montt by around December 10, which is about 35 days total, via Los Glaciares, El Chaltén, Patagonia NP, Caleta Tortel, Villa O’Higgins, Puerto Río Tranquilo, Bahía Exploradores, Cerro Castillo NP, Coyhaique, Queulat NP, Chaitén, Pumalín NP, and Hornopirén NP.

My goal is to enjoy nature and do some hiking.

I’ll be in Torres del Paine around October 20—is the weather manageable for day hikes at that time?

30-35 days from Punta Arenas to Puerto Montt? That’s about 3,600 km. Is this timeframe doable to enjoy the scenery without rushing? If I arrive in the north earlier, it’s no big deal—I’ll just explore more spots above Puerto Montt.

Now, about the vehicle... I’m torn between a car + tent (regular car with a tent on top) and a small van. Is this enough for the Carretera Austral or unpaved roads? Or would a 4x4 be better? I’m not an experienced 4x4 driver—I’ve only driven occasionally to give the main driver a break on easy sections. A van is tempting for the comfort. Are there any rental options for slightly modified cars or ones where you can sleep, like a Kangoo?

Beaucoup nous disent de ne pas y aller, d'autres non et il y a peu d'infos sur le site du gouvernement. Nous ne savons pas quoi en penser. Certains d'entre vous pourraient nous en dire plus ?

Hi everyone, We’re heading to Chile and Argentina for 4 weeks (Atacama Desert, Easter Island, and Chilean and Argentine Patagonia). For Patagonia, our itinerary (rental car) is as follows: 1 night in Puerto Natales 2 nights in Torres del Paine.

Then we’ll drive back up to El Chaltén, where we’ll spend 3 nights (fingers crossed the weather lets us do the two hikes we’ve planned). After that, we’re off to El Calafate for 2 nights (Perito Moreno Glacier). Our last day and night in Argentina will be spent at an estancia (Nibepo Aike). This is where I’m wondering: We have to drive in one day from the estancia (1.5 hours of dirt road from El Calafate) all the way to Punta Arenas. On paper, it seems doable. Nous souhaiterions faire un voyage au Chili en 2021. Pourriez vous nous indiquer la meilleure période, tout en sachant que nous voudrions visiter le nord et le Sud, c'est à dire aller jusqu'au Parc National de LAUCA, et pour le sud jusqu'à PUNTA ARENAS;

Nous avions pensé prendre un avion de SANTIAGO à CALAMA, puis louer un véhicule type 4X4 et visiter la partie Nord, est ce faisable, et d'après vous en combien de jours, on avait pensé rester 10 jours, bien sur nous souhaiterions dormir dans des hôtels, avez vous des adresses.

Puis retour à SANTIAGO, prendre un avion jusqu à PUERTO MONTT, louer un véhicule type 4X4 et aller jusqu'à PUNTA ARENAS; est ce possible, et d'après vous peut on parcourir la carretera austral jusqu'au bout (je n'ai pas encore reçu la carte routière que j'ai commandé), faut il prendre des ferrys ?, on avait pensé réserver des hôtels tout le long de la route, est ce possible, avez vous des adresses; pouvez vous nous indiquer le nombre de jours pour visiter le sud, sachant que nous souhaiterions visiter les parcs;

Nous avions pensé partir 5 semaines.

Y a-t'il un site fiable donnant les trajets bus au Chili et Argentine ? Les locations voitures existent-elles que dans les grandes villes ou peut-on en trouver à Chaiten au Chili par exemple ?
