je serai en Syrie début septembre pour une petite dizaine de jours et je souhaitais savoir s'il était facile de se déplacer en bus et microbus.

Est-il facile de se rendre à l'Eglise Saint Simeon depuis Alep (les différents guides ne sont pas vraiment très explicites). De même je compte visiter le krak des chvaliers y-a-til des bus (microbus) depuis Homs.

Si vous avez des recommandations en ce qui concerne les itinéraires que je pourrais suivre et les sites à ne pas manquer, je suis preneuse.

Avec des amis on a décidé de partir dans le Sud en vélo. C'est la premiere fois qu'on fait ça et je suis sur qu'il y a plein de trucs qu'on ne sait pas. On part de Saint Etienne et on doit rejoindre Sanary/mer dans le Var. Je pense qu'on va passer par la Drome, enfin on sait pas trop encore alors si quelqu'un connait et peut nous donner des conseils sur l'itinéraire, ou simplement sur le matériel a prévoir, par exemple ça serait déjà ça!😉

nous allons effectuer un séjour de 3 semaines au Québec et nous avons loué un camping car; nous avons prévu d'effectuer une "boucle":

Montréal, Trois-rivière, le lac Saint-Jean, Sainte-Rose, Tadoussac, ... est-il intéressant de rmonter + au nord?,

Charlevois, Québec,

puis la Gaspésie

et retour par le sud du saint Laurent à Montréal.

L'ordre des étapes est-il pertinant ?

nous sommes preneur de conseils et d'aides.

nous avons une fille de 13 ans qui adore se baigner: Où ?

nous nous interrogeons sur le stationnement du camping car à Montréal ou à Québec: ya t-il des difficultés?

est-il nécessaire de réserver le traversier plusieurs jours à l'avance ( nous souhaiterions ne pas trop planifier au jour le jour )

Je prépare une nouvelle randonnée en motoneige avec un groupe d'amis pour février prochain au départ de la ville de Québec.

Au cours des cinq dernières années, nous avons parcouru une partie des régions suivantes : Lanaudière, Laurentides, Bas Saint Laurent, Chaudière-Appalaches, Gaspésie, Mauricie (Jusqu'à Obedjiwan !), Saguenay-Lac Saint Jean.

7 jours seront consacrés exclusivement à la motoneige et nous souhaitons parcourir environ 250 kms par étape (Avec, si possible, deux nuits au même endroit au milieu du "raid")

Avez-vous des idées de circuit ? Des sites incontournables en hiver ? Des bonnes adresses pour les hébergements (Nous préférons le bois au béton et les petites structures simples et authentiques aux "usines" à touristes) ?

Salut 😉 Bonjour à tous! Je suis rentrée hier de Prague. Je vous livre donc mes impressions... Nous avons logé à l'hotel Kampa. Hotel 4 étoiles (je me serais bien contentée d'une auberge de jeunnesse. Mais bon...). L'hotel est très bien situé, central... à quelques mètres du pont Saint-Charles. Peut être (surement!) qu'une auberge de jeunnesse aurait été plus "vivante", dynamique!Ce que je trouve dommage, c'est qu'avec le français, on ne va nulle part. Si on n'a pas quelques notions d'anglaius, on est perdu!!! C'est fou! Même dans les restos, rares sont les menus en français. Tout est en tchèques, allemand et anglais. J'y suis allée hors saison et malgré ça, c'est plein de touristes: des petits vieux qui se croient tout permis, et des jeunes en voyage scolaire qui se foutent pas mal de ces visites! Je ne vous conseille pas de vous y rendre en pleine saison! C'est étrange mais il est très difficile, voire impossible, de trouver un snack pour manger un dago sur le chemin. La ville est pleine de resto à des prix très raisonnable. Le service y est, en général, assez expéditif. Je conseillerai de vous rendre à Prague avec un guide (un bouquin). La ville est un véritable musé à elle toute seule. Chaque maison a une histoire, une architecture particulière... Il est possible de tout faire à pied car tout est concentré et l'orientation y ets très aisée. Le Lonely Planet est très bien fait. Je ne connais pas le Routard! La ville est très belle. Le pont Saint Charles, le quartier juif, la place de la vieille ville, le chateau... Ce que je regrette, c'est de ne pas avoir vu un spectacle de marrionnette. Même si mon impression semble quelque peu négative, je me suis bien amusée à Prague. Ville magnifique mais ces 4 jours auront été fatiguants!!! Bon voyage à tous... Marie.

I'm heading out with friends for a week in the Queyras to hike in this beautiful region, staying at accommodation in Molines-en-Queyras near Saint-Véran, from Wednesday the 19th to Wednesday the 26th of August.

It's accommodation where we can really relax, have breakfast, prepare picnics, and go on day hikes. Some of the Queyras' most famous hikes are less than an hour's drive away. In the evenings, we'll either eat out or cook at the apartment! Right now, there are 8 of us, and since there are 11 beds, 3 more people can still join the group. If you have any questions, don't hesitate! Approximate budget if we're 10 people: 175 € for accommodation + 150 € for restaurants + 55 € for miscellaneous (including shuttles or paid parking) – so a week of hiking at a reasonable price! Indicative hiking program:

After the hikes and depending on the time, we can explore the region a bit... Wednesday 2 PM: Cascade de l'Oule from Le Laus – 7.9 km and 710 m elevation gain Thursday: Sommet Bucher and Col des Prés Fromage – 11.9 to 15.5 km and 700 to 830 m elevation gain, depending on how we're feeling and the weather Friday: Tour de la Tête des Toillies – 14.5 km and 1,015 m elevation gain Saturday: Col Agnel and Lacs d'Asti, Foreant, and Égorgeou – 17.1 km and 980 m elevation gain Sunday: Lacs du Malrif – 12 km and 960 m elevation gain Monday: Col de Neal and Col du Lauzon – 16 km and 950 m elevation gain Tuesday: Lac de Lestio – 17.7 km and 870 m elevation gain

hi everyone, my flight’s all booked (Sept 19–Oct 4), with 1.5 days in Montreal + 1.5 days in Quebec City... then I’ve got 11 days starting from Quebec City for a road trip—what route do you recommend? (I’ve seen these stops come up a lot: Parc Omega, Charlevoix, Tadoussac, Bas-Saint-Laurent, Saguenay, Parc de la Gaspésie, Parc Forillon, Mauricie...) The idea is no more than 2–3 hours of driving per day on average. I’m traveling solo :-( (if you’re in the area around the same dates, hit me up!) 45 years old, I love sports (so I’m hoping to do hikes, kayaking, and other activities, see whales...discover beautiful landscapes). I’m planning to do the Mercantour crossing following the Randoxygène route in mid-July. I’m used to hiking in the mountains, but I sometimes get vertigo, for example on ridges with drops on both sides. I wanted to check if there are any T4 or T3-T4 sections and find out if there are any very exposed passages—and if so, where—so I can plan an alternative route. Can anyone give me some info on this? Hi there, We’re flying from Montreal to Lyon this August to go hiking in the French Alps. We’ve rented a car and will be staying at campgrounds. We’re planning to do day hikes and want to stay a few days in one spot, do a few hikes, then move on to our next camping spot. Could you share your favorite spots or any recommendations for places to spend a few days with great hikes?

A few details: We arrive in early August and leave in early September. We’re looking for day hikes (or shorter), moderate difficulty, with a cumulative elevation gain of no more than 1000m, and of course, beautiful scenery! We’d prefer not to drive too much—maybe it’s best not to head too far south and deal with unnecessary heat? Along the same lines, if you know of any great campgrounds where we can start our hike directly without needing the car, we’d love to hear your suggestions!

I'm on my way to Slovakia, where I'll be spending about ten days on vacation in the High Tatras. I've decided to stop in Prague for 24 hours with my two teens (arriving around noon, leaving the next day). We don’t know the city at all. I know a single day is way too short to discover everything, so I’d like to plan a small circuit to see the must-see spots.

Here’s what I’ve planned:

Walk through Nový Svět street Visit the castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, and Golden Lane Quick stop at Vojanovy Sady gardens Malá Strana Square Maltese Square Kampa Island Then the iconic Charles Bridge and a short tour of the Jewish Quarter We’ll head back down to visit Old Town Square (Malé Náměstí, St. Nicholas Church, and the Church of Our Lady before Týn) Head to Wenceslas Square and the Church of Our Lady of the Snows Then to the Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius and the Dancing House And finally, back to the starting point.

Estimated distance: 10 km

I was thinking of a little evening stroll up Petřín Hill... what do you think? Are there things that aren’t really worth it, or other spots that are must-sees?

After a road trip in Quebec in 2025, we’re looking for a destination this year (around September 20th to October 10th) where we can settle in 2 or 3 spots and explore the area without having to drive 200 km every day to see something. I’ve had my eye on northeastern Spain for a while, and I thought of the Basque Country and its hinterland (Rioja? Navarre?) to avoid too many kilometers from Belgium. Bilbao and San Sebastián seem like must-sees, and beyond that, we love the vibe of small ports, medieval old towns (like Onati), hiking in beautiful landscapes, and cycling on greenways. I also spotted the Bardenas Reales, but it might be too far from a home base—unless we make it an extra stop... Based on this, can you recommend where it’d be interesting to set up base? The idea is to have a fairly smooth itinerary, taking the time to enjoy the places, over about ten days (possibly a little more), combining the coast and the inland areas.

I’m particularly wondering about: – The best starting point (starting with Mont-Saint-Michel or saving it for the end) – The balance between the coastline and more inland areas – The areas where it’s really worth slowing down the pace

If any of you have done a route that felt particularly coherent, your feedback would really help me fine-tune the planning.

I suggest we compete with photos of towers. No magic tricks or potter’s wheels—we’re talking about "tour" as in the feminine noun. So, a kind of tall building, round, square, or polygonal, or a high structure that could be metallic, or a flat-topped bell tower (campanile), or a high-rise building (building)... You can find them almost everywhere in the world and from all eras. The tower(s) must be the main subject of the photo. Examples: The first photo, which is Saint Mark’s Square (with the Campanile), won’t be accepted. The second one, where the Campanile tower is the main subject, will be accepted.

Hi everyone, as a regular in the "bike travel" section, I’m reaching out for some info since I’m planning to come to Montreal at the end of September 2026 for the Road Cycling World Championships. If I get the time off and manage to gather the details, I’ll arrive on Wednesday the 23rd and leave on Tuesday the 29th. Traveling solo with just my backpack, I need answers to: 1°) Do you know of any youth hostels (or similar) within walking distance (less than 3 km) of the finish circuit on Mount Royal? 2°) What’s the best way to get to this accommodation from the airport—metro, bus, etc.?

I’m just starting my research and counting on you all for any tips. My goal is to watch the road races and explore Montreal afterward—restaurants, bars, and more.

I'd love some destination suggestions for a road trip from Nice to Livorno by car, including the routes, tolls to cross, distance, and estimated travel time. We're planning a 5-day trip, with 2 nights near Nice, 1 night along the way, and finally 2 nights in Livorno. There are 4 of us in a rental car, and we'd like to stay in either an apartment, a mobile home near the sea, or a campsite. Our budget isn't too extravagant!!!! We want to visit the Promenade des Anglais, and I've heard Menton is really interesting. Once we reach Livorno, we'll take the ferry to Corsica for 12 days with the same rental car. We're planning to leave the last week of May and the first two weeks of June 2026, so around 17-18 days total. Thanks
