Bonjour à tous, Je pars en californie fin mars - debut avril et j'ai vu qu'à cette époque pas mal de routes sont fermées compte tenu de la neige. Ma question est la suivante : comment accéder à la Death valley depuis le yosemite park sachant qu'à cette période la sortie Est du Yosemite est fermée et que je n'arrive pas à trouver de route pour bifurquer vers l'Est à un moment donné. Merci d'avance pour vos conseils avisés !

allo je suis en train de finaliser mon parcours et je ne sais pas quel itinéraire est le mieux. Mon voyage au Guatémala se termine par le Lago Izabel. Sui-je mieux d, aller a Copan, l'ile Utilan, et descende a San Salvador ou de faire San Salvador, Copan Utilan car après je vais chez une amie a Managua et je veux éviter de perdre trop de temps dans les bus.

Deuxième question, les entrées sortie de pays...dois-je demander des papiers d entrée sortie, comment ca se passe aux douanes? Je vais voyager avec Ticabus alors...

MONTEE VERS LE NORD comment réserver le bus à l'avance avec un planning pas figé à 100% ? par téléphone (pas évident en espagnol), sur place quelques heures à l'avance, ou par internet ? Il parait qu’il revient moins cher d’acheter le billet de bus Santiago – Iquique en une fois même si on étale le voyage sur plusieurs jours, ça se passe comment ? Même question pour réserver l'hébergement ? Est-ce jouable d'arriver dans une région sans avoir réservé sa chambre ? Y a-t-il endroits plus critiques que d'autres à ce niveau ? Comment visiter les coins non desservis par les bus ? Stop, location de voiture ? Le permis international est-il nécessaire en solution de secours si on ne prévoit pas spécialement de location de voiture ? quoi voir ? quelles sont les meilleures plages ?

nous arrivons en Thailande mercredi après midi et souhaitons savoir s'il vous paraît opportun d'aller au Vietnam de la manière suivante :

Départ Bangkok vers le nord et Savanaket (Laos) pour aller visiter le nord du Vietnam et pour le retour Delta du Mekong et retour via le Cambodge.

Nous préparons notre tour du monde pour septembre 2005, et arrivons par le transmongolien en Chine fin octobre à Pékin pour rejoindre HK. Nous prévoyons d'y rester seulement une dizaine de jours (il a fallu faire des choix 😕...) et envisageons à peu près les étapes suivantes: Pékin (3-4 jours), Chengde, Shangaï, Suzhou, Yangshuo, et HK.

Plusieurs petites questions à ceux qui connaissent bien le coin : est-ce que ça vous semble faisable question temps? Autres suggestions d'itinéraires (nous avons déjà dû laisser de côté Xi'an...) ou coups de coeur? où aller voir la grande muraille (Badaling, Mutianyu, Simatai, Huanghua, Jingshanling) ? faut-il vraiment réserver le train 3 jours avant pour chaque voyage (exemple: Pékin-Chengde)? comment avez-vous fait le trajet Pékin-Shangai ? Shangai et Guilin et Guilin/H.K ? Moyens de loco, temps, prix...

Que me conseillez vous ! Est-il facile de se rendre du Peten sur Tikal ?

Après le volontariat j'aimerai faire en 2semaines Antigua, Lac Atitlan, Chichi, Huehuetenago, et Todos Santos. C'est possible ?

Ca y est, nous partons en couple pour un tour de 9 mois en Amérique Latine. Après avoir retourné la carte du continent dans tous les sens pendant plusieurs semaines, imaginer tous les parcours possibles en fonction des saisons, des choses à voir sur place et du prix des billets d'avion, nous sommes arrivés au parcours suivant. Je vous le soumets afin que vous puissiez me donner votre avis, notamment savoir si on s'est pas trop planté pour les climats et le temps accordé à chaque région :

Vol Paris-Quito vers la mi-septembre

Equateur : mi-septembre/mi-octobre

Pérou : mi-octobre/mi-novembre

Bolivie : mi-novembre/début décembre

Chili-Argentine (par la terre de feu) : Décembre-janvier

Brésil (du sud au nord) : février-mars-avril

Sortie du continent par Caracas vers la fin-avril, direction La Havane

Cuba : mai

Retour en France début juin

Pour cela, on a trouvé chez connaiseurs du voyage un vol Paris-Quito//Caracas-La Havane-Paris valable 1 an pour environ 1800 €. C'est assez chero, mais visiblement c'est le prix à payer pour des billets longue durée un peu tordus. On fera également des petits sauts de puce en avion sur place si le budget le permet.

Qu'en pensez-vous?

Quelles sont les trajets qu'on peut effectuer en avion sur place sans trop plmober son budget et dénaturer l'esprit du voyage qui est d'utiliser un max les transports locaux?

This coming October or November, we’re planning our first trip to Japan. The only downside is we’ll only have two weeks off.

For this first visit, I’m thinking of sticking to the Kyoto and Osaka area… saving Tokyo for another trip. Do you think that’s a good choice for a first-time visit?

I’ve put together a little itinerary below to get some feedback from those in the know. I’m only counting the days we’re actually there, not travel days.

Day 1: Kyoto Ginkaku-ji – Philosopher’s Path with stops at a few shrines temples Eikan-dō and Nanzen-ji visit to the Samurai Ninja Museum in the late afternoon

Day 2: Kyoto Fushimi Inari (allow 4 hours for the hike through the park) visit to Sanjūsangen-dō temple Shōseien garden participate in a tea ceremony

Day 3: Kyoto Kiyomizu-dera temple stroll through the historic district up to Kennin-ji temple visit Kennin-ji temple Yasaka-jinja shrine and Gion district in the late afternoon return to the hotel via Pontochō Street

Day 4: Kyoto visit Kinkaku-ji and Nijō Castle visit the Imperial Palace gardens end the day in the shopping streets (Shibkyogoku and Teramachi, among others)

Day 5: Kyoto Arashiyama area Togetsukyo Bridge, walk along the river, visit the Bamboo Forest explore the area up to Otagi Nenbutsu-ji temple

Day 6: Kyoto hike from Kibune to Kurama

Day 7: Kyoto day trip to Nara (full day)

Day 8: stroll around Kyoto before heading to Osaka

Day 9: Osaka Katsuo-ji temple, then head to Minoh Falls and hike back via the Minoh Trail end the day in the Osaka Castle area

Day 10: Osaka Himeji Castle and an afternoon in Osaka

Day 11: Osaka Osaka and return to the airport in the late afternoon for the flight home

Do you think this itinerary is doable? Are some days too relaxed or too packed? I was thinking of adding a trip to Lake Biwa and Uji, but in that case, I’d have to cut some things. Are those places worth dropping some of the planned spots? And if so, which ones would you recommend cutting or shortening?

We’re heading to Vietnam in February as a family (2 adults and 2 kids) for 9 full days, and I was thinking of this itinerary:

Day 1: Hanoi Day 2: Halong Bay (Lan Ha) Day 3: Halong Bay (Lan Ha) Day 4: Hue Day 5: Danang Day 6: Danang Day 7: Hoi An Day 8: Hoi An/My Son Day 9: Hanoi

After reading almost all the discussions about Vietnam, I don’t see anything about transportation options for getting from Hue to Danang, then from Danang to Hoi An. Any ideas (train, bus)? From the map, it looks like Danang is close to Hoi An—easily accessible by taxi, right?

Also, after reading lots of comments and websites, I’ve noticed that Danang, aside from being a big developing city, seems to be more about hotels for relaxing on the beach—very laid-back, isn’t it? Not really a place to visit like Hanoi or Hoi An.

Generally speaking, if you have any recommendations for the itinerary or tips, I’d love to hear them.

I’ll post a trip report when we get back.

My wife, our kids (aged 5 and 9), and I will arrive in Fukuoka on May 27, 2026. We plan to visit Japan for about a month—maybe a month and a half (we’re starting our 11-month world trip in Japan, so I’m flexible with dates).

For the driver’s license, can I get it translated in advance and receive it in France? If so, do you know of a website or contact that handles this?

For car rental, which company would you recommend? I did a simulation on Nippon Rent-A-Car, and it seems like a solid option. As for driving, I’ve already driven in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and Thailand, so if all the signs are also in Latin letters, I should be fine! That said, I know I won’t be driving in big cities like Osaka, Kyoto, or Tokyo.

We love the freedom a car provides.

Broadly speaking, we’d like to follow this route (mixing car rental and trains): Fukuoka > Hiroshima > Himeji > Osaka > Kyoto > areas around Mount Fuji > Nagano > Nikko > Tokyo

We’ll rent the car from Fukuoka to Himeji and from Kyoto to Tokyo.

I’m torn between exploring the northern coast (Nagato / Matsue / Tottori / Miyazu) or sticking to the southern coast (Fukuoka / Hiroshima / Fukuyama / Himeji). We’d love to see both the "must-see" sites and some more offbeat, hidden spots—places off the beaten path.

I’m also not ruling out a little road trip around Kyushu. I still need to look into the details of what to see there.

- Is an afternoon on Gorée Island worth it? I really want to go, but the ferry departure days are a bit limiting. - How easy is it to get around between these different stops? Can we find a taxi that fits all five of us? - Do you have any accommodation recommendations? I’d love to stay with locals as much as possible—we’re not looking for luxury, just a bed and a shower. - February 28 is my birthday, and I’d love to do something “special”: any ideas for a nice place to stay, a great restaurant, or an out-of-the-ordinary activity? We’ll be around Cap Skirring. - Does this itinerary seem coherent? I really want to visit Casamance, and we’d prefer to stay no more than 3 nights in the same place.

Hi everyone, absolute travel lovers after our 20 trips to the USA, we’ve decided to head to Mexico in February (flight already booked: Nice to Cancun on February 20th, returning on the evening of March 1st).

I’m mainly hesitating about trying to do too much, as usual when discovering a new country. Here’s my itinerary—I’m unsure about a few things: - **Day 1**: Should we stay relaxed at the resort we booked, or should we do Isla Mujeres instead? If we stay, when’s the best time to visit the island? - **Day 3**: If we visit Chichén Itzá right at opening, will the Ik-Kil cenote be quieter in terms of tourists? If not, which cenote nearby would you recommend? - **Big decision**: Should we go all the way down to Bacalar or not? After that, it feels a bit rushed. **Day 6** is mandatory, or are there other options? Honestly, I’m counting on your advice!

For context, we’re a family of four (with very grown-up kids who are used to traveling), and we’ve already rented an SUV for this period. Thanks in advance for your help—it’ll be invaluable!

Back in 2002, we spent two weeks in Playa del Carmen. We did day trips to Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, Chichén Itzá, Tulum, and Xcaret.

We’re heading back at Christmas with our two daughters, aged 15 and 19. I’m sure it’s changed a lot with the booming tourism.

Flights are booked: Paris-Cancún on 19/12 (arriving at 8:20 PM) and Cancún-Paris on 01/01 at 1:30 PM. We’re still finalizing the itinerary because we want to explore but don’t want to switch hotels too often. We’ll be there for 13 nights and 12 days, so we’re choosing among: - Playa del Carmen - Cozumel - Holbox - Valladolid - Tulum - Mahahual

We won’t do everything, so any tips would be great! I’m also unsure if renting a car is the best option.

Hello everyone,

So, summer 2025 is when I turn 40, and to mark the occasion, I had the idea of doing a road trip through Northern Spain. Since I’ll be traveling with my two kids (9 and 6½ years old), I’m tied to school holidays, but I’m hoping the northern regions of Spain are a little less crowded than the Costa Brava.

We’d leave from Lyon to reach the Atlantic coast, head down to the Basque Country, cross the Spanish border, and then visit: Cantabria - Asturias - Galicia. It’s not exactly around the corner—I’ve seen that it’s about 1,500 km (one way) from Lyon to Galicia. But for this adventure, I’ve got 3 to 3½ weeks. The twist would be doing it in an electric car, stopping for 2-3 days here and there before moving on (alternating between wild camping and hotels). Why electric? Because it’s my company car, and my employer covers the charging and toll costs. Over 3 weeks of vacation, that adds up to big savings.

Question: Do you think this plan is doable? Aside from the charging stops, does the route seem too ambitious for 3 weeks with two kids? And in July/August, are these regions not too packed?

What do you think of this plan? Will it feel too rushed, or is it manageable? Since we don’t know the places, it’s hard to tell if we’ll want to stop everywhere along the way or if there’s enough time to spend at each spot. I’ve included some night-stop assumptions (1 or 2 nights).

We’d love to hear your thoughts! We’re traveling with my wife, a 13-year-old teen, and a 10-year-old. We’ll have our own rental car.

Day 4 - Wednesday, April 9: Day trip to Key West (2-hour round trip from Marathon) - Fort Zachary Taylor State Park - Stroll through Old Town in the late afternoon and sunset at Mallory Square - Night in Marathon

Loop Road in Big Cypress National Preserve? I’d love your input here. My youngest is too small to handle biking in Shark Valley on her own (unless there are cargo bikes available?). On foot, it seems tricky, and the shuttles don’t really appeal to us. Is it better to skip Shark Valley and focus on Loop Road? Is the day too ambitious with the drive back to Fort Myers Beach? I wanted to avoid Naples because I’d prefer to stay two nights in each place to avoid changing hotels every day. But if it’s too tight, we’ll do one night in Naples and one in Fort Myers Beach. - Night in Fort Myers Beach

Day 7 - Saturday, April 12: Sanibel Island - Day on the island with bike rentals to reach J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge, then beach time (Bowman’s Beach?) - Night in Fort Myers Beach

It was tough making choices for the Orlando parks. As a huge Harry Potter fan, I was leaning toward Universal, but the girls have never been to Disney in Paris and are huge Disney fans, so skipping Magic Kingdom seemed tricky.

Hello everyone, what a pleasure to be back on this forum!

My partner and I are heading to Japan for the first time from mid-December to mid-January for 31 days. It’s a long-held dream we’ve been saving for over two years, and we want to enjoy ourselves while also being mindful of our budget for parts of the trip. We’d love to explore Tokyo, but we’ve chosen to spend more time in nature. My partner plans to get his driver’s license translated locally so we can rent a car. We’ve heard from friends who’ve been that Japan isn’t the best place for improvisation, so we’ve tried to allow plenty of time in each location to avoid rushing. Still, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the itinerary we’ve planned—whether it’s feasible in terms of travel and how interesting it seems. Given the recent increase in the JR Pass price and the fact that we’ll spend about ten days on Goto, Ojika, and Yakushima (where the JR Pass doesn’t cover travel), we don’t think it’s worth it for us. Instead, we’re planning to take the train from Tokyo to Fukuoka and then use buses and ferries for the rest of Kyushu. Here’s our itinerary:

1- December 13 / Arrival in Tokyo, one night in Tokyo, then departure for Fukuoka by train on the morning of the 14th.

2 - December 14-16 / 2 nights in Fukuoka, sightseeing, then departure on the evening/night of the 16th by ferry to Ojika Islands.

3 - December 17-21 / 4 nights on Ojika, cycling and exploring, then departure on the 21st by ferry to Fukue on the Goto Islands.

4 - December 21-24 / 3 nights on the Goto Islands, renting a car to explore, maybe a trip to Hisaka. Departure for Nagasaki by ferry on the morning of the 24th.

5- December 24-26 / 2 nights in Nagasaki, visiting the city and memorials, possibly the hot springs in Unzen. Departure on the evening of the 26th by bus or ferry (?) to Kumamoto.

6- December 26-29 / 3 nights in Kumamoto, sightseeing, day trip by car to Mount Aso and surrounding areas. Departure on the 29th in the late afternoon by bus to Kagoshima, overnight in Kagoshima.

7- December 30 to January 2 / Morning departure by ferry to Yakushima for 3 nights, hiking and exploring the island. Departure on January 2 on the only ferry (?) in the early afternoon back to Kagoshima.

8- January 2 to 5 / Uncertain leg... We’d like to spend the night of the 4th to the 5th at a ryokan in Kurokawa Onsen and then head back to Fukuoka and Tokyo by train on the 5th. From the 2nd to the 4th, since we’ll arrive in Kagoshima in the late afternoon, we thought we could head back up to Kumamoto by train or bus—going to Yufuin or Beppu would take much longer and leave us with very little time. But is it worth staying another 2 nights in Kumamoto to explore the area, given we’ll already be there for 3 days from December 26-29? Or should we stay in Kagoshima and head up to Kurokawa Onsen on the afternoon of the 4th for our overnight stay?

9- January 5 to 13, Tokyo and its endless things to do and see, then back to France!

Voici une ébauche de mon itinéraire, j' aimerais avoir vos avis sur celui çi. Arrivée le 25/03 à Fukuoka 3nuits Départ le 28 pour Yanagawa, kurume, yame 3nuits Départ le 31 pour Kumamoto 2nuits Départ le 02 pour Kagoshima 2nuits Retour le 04 à Fukuoka 4nuits (Visite de Beppu, Usiki, Itoshi, Hoshino et Kitakyushu)

Pensez-vous qu'il soit possible de tout visiter? Je ne sais pas trop comment organiser mon itinéraire par rapport aux distances des villes. Mes centres d'intêrets sont la visites de temples, les toris sur la mer, les rizières , les plantations de thé, être proche des habitants, la nature...

Je cherche aussi un ryokan assez sympa mais pas hors de prix mais je ne sais pas dans quel endroit il vaut mieux le prendre.

pour ma part, ayant déjà trippé dans la région, je m ajoute quelques coins non visités comme antelope island à SLC, , cathedral gorge, cedar breaks, extraterrestreal road notamment

nous avons le choix entre 2 itinéraires:sans passage à cedar city:

N'étant pas fans de montagne, on voit le mont blanc de lyon, ni de longues marches, j ai supprimé: - grand téton où suis déjà passé voir mes cousins



- et kanarra creek , 3 à 4h de marche en plus avec le vertige ... - ceci dit , suis preneur de plein d idées originales et sympa

pour moi cela dépendra surtout d'un phénomène bien particulier : la possibilité de réserver sur yellowstone sachant, si j ai bien compris, que ceux qui ont du annuler cette année seront prioritaires pour 2021

Je pars au Costa Rica du 17/10 au 01/11/2020 avec mon compagnon. Nous souhaitons louer un 4x4 pour parcourir le pays. En restant 12 jours sur place, nous sommes bien conscients de ne pas pouvoir tout voir, mais nous voulons quand même découvrir au maximum ce pays. J'ai préparé un itinéraire mais souhaiterais savoir s'il est réalisable et pas trop ambitieux, notamment en temps de trajet. J'ai compris qu'ils pouvaient être beaucoup plus long que prévu. Qu'en pensez-vous ? Nous aurions aimé visiter le volcan Poas et La paz waterfall gardens mais faute temps j'ai enlever cette étape, d'autant plus que d'après mes recherches, le volcan peut être fermé selon la météo et son activité volcanique.
