Hi everyone! We’re planning a multi-stop trip, starting with Uzbekistan. Has anyone flown with Qanot Sharq before? We’re looking to take a flight from Tashkent to Guangzhou. We tried buying a ticket on their website, but they only accept local bank cards since they don’t take foreign currency. We’ve searched on other sites but can’t find any tickets that include baggage. It’s a bit risky since there’s no info on whether we can buy baggage allowance on their site or how much it’d cost.

If anyone has any tips, we’d love to hear them! 😊 Safe travels!

Hello,

In their FAQ, there's this:

Looks like there might be an issue with foreign cards. Otherwise, you could try using a virtual card. Or contact them at the email listed: help@qanotsharq.com. Just a heads-up about online agencies—unfortunately, there are sometimes bad surprises.

Thanks Erjome,

Actually, I did all that. I reported the issue to the airline. They’re the ones who told me it was impossible to pay with a foreign card (I tried with a regular Visa and then a virtual one—same scenario). They explained that their site was under maintenance and in test mode, which was causing the problem. They advised me to book through another site. But those sites don’t offer an option for checked baggage. After sending another email to ask if I could add checked baggage later, no response. Not great!! We’ll figure something else out. Thanks again for your help.

Wishing you amazing travels! 😊

Hello,

For checked baggage, you can check if they have an office in Tashkent and pay in cash. Otherwise, it’s usually always possible at the airport during check-in. In that case, just get there a little earlier as a precaution. The most important thing is to have your ticket.

Hey again Erjome

Thanks for your tips. It’s really nice to feel so much kindness—it’s getting rare these days. Anyway, just wanted to share some feedback: patience finally paid off. I managed to find a ticket that includes checked baggage through Trip (they weren’t offering it before, so it’s a miracle 😊). This’ll be my first time flying with this airline. So far, I can already say there’s zero info (except that they’ve acquired several Airbus planes) and no reviews about their flights. According to Trip, they’re not a low-cost carrier, but no meal is included on a long-haul flight—that’s weird! I’ll come back to the forum to share our thoughts on this airline. Until then, happy travels! 😊

Hi,

The post caught my attention, but I didn’t reply since I’ve never flown with this airline. I considered it at one point but couldn’t get their flight search engine to work properly, so I gave up. Qanot Sharq is one of those Central Asian airlines—not quite legacy, but better than low-cost—that first spread their wings toward China and the Gulf and are now trying their luck in Europe. Similar to Flyarystan, Scat Airlines, and Air Samarkand.

Let us know how it goes.
