Je suis à la recherche des familles françaises, basées sur place et pouvant m'aider dans mes démarches et me faire partager leur expérience, Voici mes questions : Que pensez-vous de la ville Castle Rock ? Y a t-il des quartiers ou secteurs à éviter ? Quel secteur me conseillez-vous d'habiter ? Mes enfants sont actuellement en CE1 et en 6è au collège, dans quelles classes dois-je les inscrire pour la rentrée prochaine ? Quels établissements scolaires me conseillez-vous ? elémentaire et collège ? Puis-je bénéficier d'un soutien scolaire pour mes enfants qui ne parlent pas dutout anglais ? Comment et auprès de qui ? Existe t'il aussi un soutien en anglais pour les parents ? Y a t'il une association des français sur Denver et ou les environs ? Pour des démarches administratives, y a t'il une antenne du consulat de France sur Denver ? je ne peut pas repondre a tout, je n'habite pas Denver mais en Oklahoma, mais je peux essayer de t'apporter quelques infos.
en ce qui concerne les enfants :
le systeme de numerotation des classes est inverse par rapport a la France, le CE1 = grade 2 en Elementary school, la 6` = 6`grade ( c'est le meme ) selon les ecoles, ce sera en Elementary ou bien ce qui correspond au college francais, en Middle School ou Junior High School, les appelation peuvent etre differentes.
Pour l'anglais, je ne sais pas si tu trouvera la meme chose nous, a savoir, dans notre ville ( Lawton ) il y a 1 groupe scolaire, de l'Elemetary jusqu'en High School, qui propose un programme special, ( gratuit bien sur ) dedie aux etrangers qui ne parle pas anglais ou tres peu .
Ici c'a s'appelle E.S.L. ( English Second Language) . les enfants sont integres dans une classe normale, mais leur temps est partage en 2, par exemple la matinee avec les autres en classe normale et le l'apres midi avec classe " anglais" .
au debut ils ne comprennent rien ............rien et encore rien............il faut du temps au enfants pour se familiariser avec le nouvel environnement et capter la nouvel musique d'une langue etrangere, il ne faut surtout pas les brusquer et ce focaliser sur les resultats, perso, nous avons decider de leur laisser le temps d'apprendre l'anglais et avons mis de cote tous les autres resulats, : a Noel, ils parlait anglais, en fin d'annee, ils etaient bilingue au point que le programme ESL, ne leur etait plus indispensable, dixit leur profs !!!
donc des la 2 e annee, ils ont suivit les cours normaux, avec les autres americains, et sont premiers de classes, c'a m'etonne encore....... ils ont entames leurs 3 ~ annee en Aout dernier
lorsque nous sommes arrives, mon fils ne parlait pas 1 seul mot d'anglais et entrait en 6', ma fille avait 2 ans d'anglais scolaire et entrait en niveau 4' . aujourdhui, ils veulent rester ici et finir les etudes. je dois dire que le niveau americain est peut etre, au dire de certain, plus bas, leur methode d'enseignement est super, ici, on en fait pas des tonnes sur ce qui ne va pas et au contraire on met en avant et on valorise les enfants pour ce quils font de bien.
tes enfants sont tres jeunes, ils vont apprendre tres tres vite......
Pour les adultes, il y a ici en ville un programme similaire et entierement gratuit avec des cours tous les jours, et aucune obligation de suivi
Je pense que la ville dois avoir un site internet, tu devrai pouvoir trouver des infos sur les ecoles, voir aussi sur directement sur le sites internet des ecoles.
Pour les demarches administratives, je pense que, comme nous, vous allez dependre du consulat de Houston .
et je doute qu'il y est un bureau a Denver.
je pense qu'il y a une association francaise a Denver ( sorry je n'ai pas verifier) a voir sur le net.......

Encore quelques questions : Etant donné que ma fille passe au CE2 à la rentrée prochaine, dois-je l'inscrire au 3è grade ou doit-elle reprendre le CE1 aux USA soit 2è grade ? Que me conseillez-vous ? Pour mon fils, il passera en 5è, dois-je aussi l'inscrire au 7è grade ou dois-je le faire doubler ? En ce qui conserne l'assurance et la sécurité sociale, est-il préférable de prendre une assurance aux USA ? ou passer par la CFE ? Comment avez-vous fait ? Avez-vous garder ou conserver votre carte vitale, pour les retours en France ? Comment avez-vous fait ? Dès mon arrivée, quelles sont les premières démarches importantes à faire vis à vis de l'ambassade de France ? Apparemment, je dépendrais de l'embassade de LA en CA, et à Denver, je n'ai pas encore trouvé une association ou une antenne de France sur place, j'y ai été en Octobre et je retourne début mars pour les écoles et autres..si vous avez des informations à ce sujet, tenez-moi au courant. If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
