Juste quelques impressions et adresses si cela peut aider.
Apres deux ans d'attente nous reprenons le chemin du Maroc.
Nous passerons la premiere nuit au Riad Al-Amir, reserve via booking, qui ne nous laisseras pas un souvenir impérissable : on a connu accueil plus sympathique et le confort n'était pas au niveau du prix (un taux de change applique de manière arbitraire et un transfert aéroport/Riad sans commune mesure a ce qui se pratique)
Apres une soirée consacrée a reprendre contact avec Marrakech et le dédale de ruelles dont est composée la médina, nous mangerons notre première Tajine chez Oscar et changerons qq euros a l’hôtel Ali (message pour les connaisseurs de ces lieux)
Dés le lendemain nous prenons la route en direction d’Ait Benhadou, ce sera long et harassant car la route est en travaux sur plus de 100 km avec des engins, des coupures de routes pimentées de la signalisation version marocaine …
Nous arriverons enfin d’après midi chez Houcine ou les retrouvailles auprès de la famille prendront un certain temps.
Nous finirons la soirée (tard !) invités a manger par le propriétaire de la fibule d’or et nous dormirons dans un autre lieu car l’auberge affiche complet.
L'auberge Nouflla ou nous serons logé est situe a l'entrée d'Ait-Benhadou se révélera correct sans beaucoup d’âme, mais trop habitue a être héberger par notre ami, notre avis est tout ce qu'il ya de plus subjectif !
Nous repartons des le lendemain pour Tazenaght rejoindre une famille amie ou nous passerons la nuit.
Nous sommes hébergés dans le vieux village et comme ce lieu est aussi une cooperative de tapis je ferais l'impasse sur le gite et le couvert car ces moments relèvent plus de la retrouvaille avec des amis et ne peuvent en rien être une source de nuitées pour des voyageurs.
Nous reprenons la route pour Taroudant dés le lendemain matin après un petit déjeuner pris en commun avec la famille « élargie »
Le trajet entre Tazenaght et Taroudant se fera sans grande difficulté.
Il sera seulement ponctue de l’allumage intempestif d’un voyant au tableau de bord de la Logan. Après arrêt et dans un premier temps consultation du livret de mode d’emploi : c’est juste pour signaler que la vidange est dépassée…
je passe un coup de fil a l’agence le loueur confirmera : « c’est rien monsieur vous pouvez continuer a rouler le voyant été déjà allumé a Marrakech » bon moi je l’avais pas vu avant.
-A ce sujet. Juste un mot sur la location de voiture après recherche j'avais loue chez "Locationauto" au prix de 151€ pour 14 jours via bsp-auto.com et si la prise en charge du véhicule s'est déroulé sans problème ainsi que le trajet sans grosse fausse note si ce n'est l'incident mentionne plus haut la restitution sera un peu "sportive". En effet ayant rendu la voiture un, presque, deux jours avant j'avais demande au prestataire de me ramener au Riad (pres des tombeaux Saadiens donc pas très loin de l’aéroport) si celui ci m'avais donne son accord au tel je me suis retrouvé lors du retour face a une personne agressive envers ses collègues et par ricochet désagréable avec nous : j'ai pas compris son attitude étais ce une heure ou beaucoup rendent les voitures? et effectivement il y avait beaucoup de circulation en ville (mais à Marrakech ...) Mais a mon sens rien ne justifie un tel énervement : il m’aurais dis non j'aurais pris un taxi...C'est la seule fausse note en regard du prix très doux et qu'a la place d'une 107 nous ayons eu une Logan.-
La recherche d’un hôtel dans la ville de Taroudant sera l’occasion de tourner autour des remparts de la ville.
Nous avons cherche vainement l’hôtel ou nous avions séjourné lors d’un précédent périple mais Brahim, (notre chauffeur d'un voyage precedent) nous fait cruellement défaut et le GPS ne le remplace que partiellement... En son absence ce sera « Zizou » (le cheval) et Saïd le cocher qui a bord d’une « rutilante » calèche nous fera faire les tours et détours de la ville.
Heureusement personne de notre connaissance ne nous verra jouer les touristes lambda!
Un peu plus avant dans la soirée nous nous rendrons compte que ce moyen de locomotion est en fait très utilisés par les autochtones, et à l’heure des déplacements écologiques en ville c’est de fait très a l’ordre du jour !!
Nous logerons au Riad Taroudant : un peu difficile d’accès. Ne paye pas de mine de l'extérieur mais une fois passe la porte le lieu est calme. belle piscine propre. Chambre correcte (un peu de poussière mais bon on est au Maroc et il y avait du vent) bonne literie et douche de bonne facture. Bon emplacement pres d'une place animée le soir. Petit déjeuner : moyen une demi crepe un demi petit pain cela fait un peu mesquin.

voila cela va faire la troisième année que je part au Maroc,
aveec mon fils de 8 ans. C'est un pur bonheur !!!
on part le 1er juillet et on rentre le 13.
on arrive à Marrakech le samedi soir, de la on va à l'hôtel faouzi.
pour le dimanche on reste sur marrakech on va allez passez la journée à oasiria un parc aquatique sur la route de l'ourrika.
pour la suite je ne sait pas trop quoi faire, les cascades d'ouzoud sont elle bien?!
que me conseillez-vous pour finir mon séjours ?!
Je compte descendre sur agadir pour visite les alentours, aourir la vallée du miel et du paradis.
Pour la suite e compte descendre sur taroudant et reste une nuit quelle Hotel me conseillé vous.
Je compte me déplacer en bus taxi je suis preneur de tous conseils.

durant mon voyage de 20 jours, j'aimerais passer quelques jours dans le désert ( car en été, il risque de faire chaud). J'aimerais savoir ou je doit aller pour ça? J'aimerais faire une nuit dans le désert, avec tour de dromadaire. J'ai vu Merzouga à plusieurs reprises, mais d'autres noms aussi dont je ne me rappelle plus on traversé mon écran. D'après-vous, quel endroit est le mieux? Je suppose que je doit prendre un tour avec une compagnie pour le désert, en avez vous à me conseillé ? J'aimerais bien ne pas me faire voler sur ce tour ( car je sais cela n'est déjà pas donné) . J'aimerais quelque chose de vraiment authentique... Aussi, je louerais une voiture, est-il possible de laisser une voiture dans une ville proche ( comme ouarzazate) toute la durée du tour au désert?

I’m heading to Morocco for a full 8 days in early November—it’s my first time visiting. I’m traveling solo and arrive in Agadir on Sunday at 10 PM.
I plan to rent a car to get around.
I’m reaching out to get your advice so I can plan my trip as well as possible...
Here are my questions:
1 - Given my late arrival, is it better to stay overnight in Agadir for the first night? If so, do you have any hotel recommendations, and is transportation easy to arrange at that hour?
2 - Do you have any trusted rental car companies to recommend in Agadir?
3 - For 7 days, here’s the route I’ve planned: Agadir → Taroudant → Taliouine → Tafraoute → Tiznit → Agadir. Does this route seem good (not too short, not too long, any spots worth adding?), considering I enjoy driving?
4 - Should I book my accommodations in advance?
Thanks in advance for your recommendations! I hope these questions aren’t too repetitive compared to what’s already been asked on the forum.

Sachant que nous partons pour s'y poser, y savourer le temps et l'atmosphère sans location de voiture prévue 🤪. Ce serait au printemps. Enfin, si vous avez des conseils à me donner coté hébergement, ils sont les bienvenus.

Nous venons vers vous afin que vous nous apportiez votre aide afin de planifier au mieux notre séjour du 22 mars au 04 avril 2020 à Agadir pour une première expérience au Maroc. Nous devions séjourner à Marrakech mais lors de la prise de nos billets d'avion la tarification était beaucoup plus avantageuse pour une arrivée à Agadir. Nous sommes un peu perdus, nous devons recommencer nos recherches et faire nos réservations pour l'hôtel, les paysages ont l'air différents, sûrement très jolis mais d'après les forums il semblerait que ce ne soit pas la meilleur destination que nous avons choisi, peut être à tord pour certaines personnes, la période semble correcte, c'est pourquoi, il est bon de se faire ses propres opinions . Quels sont vos conseils pour les visites, les hébergements (tarifs 35/40 par nuit €, est-ce suffisant ?) combien de jours est nécessaire pour visiter Agadir, que faire aux alentours, devons nous nous contenter de rester au plus près pour profiter, ou louer une voiture. Est-il possible de passer au moins 1 nuit dans le désert car les distances ont l'air difficile à calculer ce que nous avions vu au départ de Marrakech (Telouet/Ait Ben Addou/Skoura/gorges du Dades/Erfoud/Merzouga route retour par N'Kob ect… Faut-il prévoir de faire environ 3 h de route par jour avec nuits sur place, quel serait votre road trip au départ de Agadir …. A cela doit peut-être s'ajouter des taxes locales normalement non.

Nous essayons de construire un séjour avec une arrivée à Agadir le 7 février 2020, genre 2 nuits sur place, puis Tafraout 4 nuits et encore 2 ou 3 nuits ailleurs. Pour un séjour de 7 à 9 nuits maxi
Petites questions à ceux qui connaissent évidemment :)
Peut on réserver et avoir à coup sur un bus qui va d'Agadir à Tafraout sur place (du jour pour le lendemain) ?
4 nuits dans Tafraout même, aurons nous de quoi nous balader sans nous ennuyer ? à pied ou en vélo...
Quel autre endroit sympathique pourrions nous faire, accessible en bus, pour repartir d'Agadir entre le 14 et le 16 février ?

Je voudrais poser diverses questions sur le coût de la vie au Maroc à celles et ceux qui y vont bien plus souvent que moi, je pense en particulier à la nourriture.
Je m'explique :
Il y a une chose qui m'a surprise pour mes 4 jours sur place à Marrakech, c'est que j'ai trouvé le prix des petits resto/snacks plus qu'abordables, surtout en tant que ville touristique, je n'ai pas trouvé les tarifs pratiqués excessifs.
Pour info, là pour le coup, j'avais pris pour habitude de prendre mes repas dans un snacks/resto autour de la place pour me restaurer, et là, je n'en reviens toujours pas des prix pratiqués : tajine, couscous 30-35 dhs, un coca 15 dhs, je me suis servit de ce lieu comme de ma petite cantine.😛
De plus c'est une cuisine familiale qui me convient très bien, et je dois avouer que si je compare à l'Espagne ou au Portugal, mon porte-monnaie s'y retrouve de loin mais vraiment très loin au Maroc, le soleil en plus 😎😎 Je n'ai aucun intérêt donc de privilégier l'Espagne ou le Portugal pour des futures vacances. Sans parler du dépaysement assuré.
Je voudrais savoir si les prix pratiqués à Marrakech qui pourtant est une ville très touristique, sont les mêmes dans d'autres villes du Maroc ? Ai-je raison de penser que dans des localités rurales, c'est forcément moins cher ?
Attention, je ne parle pas des restaurants grands luxe, je parle de la cuisine familiale que l'on mange ici ou là.
En fait, je crois que si demain je décide de louer un appartement, ce ne sera même la peine que j'aille faire les courses pour cuisiner, car en allant dans ces petits restos midi et soir, j'arrive à peine sur 2 repas pris, au prix d'un repas à Lisbonne où je payais en terrasse entre 8 et 9 euros.

Je vais voyager seul, sans voiture, j'arrive et je pars de Marrakech et mon idée pour le moment est de me rendre à M'Hamid et Mergouza en passant par la vallée de Drâa et de Dades, de faire des arrêts à Aït Ben Haddou, Skoura. Je souhaite pour ce voyage rencontrer des locaux, faire de la photo (paysages), des balades et voir le désert (y passer une nuit). D'après ce que j'ai lu a droite à gauche, ce serait possible en bus et grand taxi. Mais je n'arrive pas a estimer l'ambition de ce voyage, si c'est réalisable ou s'il ne faut privilégier qu'un seul des deux déserts, et la fiabilité et la fréquence des transports en commun. Je ne souhaite pas courir, ni faire que du bus, plutôt prendre le temps d'apprécier les lieux où je m'arrête. J'aimerais avoir vos avis sur ce projet, s'il y a des endroits à privilégier.

Nous sommes 2 adultes et 4 enfants de 16, 14, 12 et quasi 10 ans et avons prévu un séjour de 13 jours au Maroc à partir du 25 mars. Nous avons réservé une Dacia Lodgy (avec galerie car je pense que le coffre est petit avec 6 sièges) directement à l'aéroport de Marrakech. Je voudrais vous demander conseil sur notre programme (nous savons que nous ne pouvons pas "tout" voir en 13 jours, par ex le desert à Merzouga, nous voudrions aussi limiter le temps passé en voiture et nous souhaitons faire 3 jours de plage/surf à Taghazout). Questions: 1.Les temps de parcours indiqués par Google map (sans les pauses photos) sont ils réalistes? 2. J'ai retenu qu'il n'était pas nécessaire de réserver l'hébergement à l'avance - est ce valable meme pour une famille de 6 (je voudrais éviter la mauvaise surprise de devoir passer d'hotel en hotel a la tombée de la nuit)? Pour Marrakech et Taghazout, je pense réserver à l'avance (via airbnb par ex) 3. Pour l'argent, la carte bancaire est elle acceptée en de nombreux endroits (hotels / riads, restaurants?). Convient il de venir avec pas mal de liquide et dans ce cas, ou convient il de le changer?

Questions: 1.Les temps de parcours indiqués par Google map (sans les pauses photos) sont ils réalistes? 2. J'ai retenu qu'il n'était pas nécessaire de réserver l'hébergement à l'avance - est ce valable meme pour une famille de 6 (je voudrais éviter la mauvaise surprise de devoir passer d'hotel en hotel a la tombée de la nuit)? Pour Marrakech et Taghazout, je pense réserver à l'avance (via airbnb par ex) 3. Pour l'argent, la carte bancaire est elle acceptée en de nombreux endroits (hotels / riads, restaurants?). Convient il de venir avec pas mal de liquide et dans ce cas, ou convient il de le changer?

nous allons 2 semaines au maroc en octobre et je commence à préparer notre voyage car j'adore ça (peut être encore plus que voyager!!)
le maroc a l'air magique et tout le monde en parle avec extase
alors je viens de feuilleter un magazine spéciale maroc et tout a l'air très beau mais qu'en est il vraiment?
l'artisanat par exemple : juste un attrape touriste ou la vie quotidienne des marocains? (je sais, même si c'est de l'attrape touriste ça fait vivre des familles quand même)
les hébergements? il y a une profusion de chambres d'hôtes, ryads … comment choisir?
on a fait 2 séjours en tunisie cette année et nos souvenirs sont magiques, j'espère qu'il en sera de même pour le maroc qui a l'air d'un pays dont l'Europe profite de plus en plus

Chefchaouen: Dar Besmellah Av Ibn Askar +212 539 986 489 (For one person, end of October). I don’t recommend it. A small, low-ceilinged room with a window facing a patio. Very dark and damp. Shared bathroom. 9 € Dar Bleu Pearl N° 4 Derb Benyaakoub +212 (0)539 88 28 86. Negotiated on-site to 130 MAD instead of 160 on Booking. Small room, furniture, Wi-Fi, private bathroom. Fes: Riad Alfredo or Riad Rocco—it’s the same place. It’s in a very narrow alley. N° 15 Derb Sidi Kjih or Qjih Talla Sagira +212 662 769 688 (see photos and virtual tour) Negotiated to 13 € on-site; on Booking, it was 16 €. Breakfast included. Atypical Anne room with private bathroom, Wi-Fi. The room is a bit dark. One of the best beds on my trip. Again, this was for a solo traveler off-season (end of October to end of December). Moulay Idriss: Gite El Menzeh (see the map) Negotiated on-site to 14 € with breakfast; on Booking, it was 24 €. I also negotiated for dinner—very good and hearty—for 5 € (the manager wanted 20 €). I stayed in the large upstairs room with a double bed, window, and private bathroom, not the tiny windowless rooms downstairs. Azrou: Hôtel des Cèdres Place Mohamed V. (see the map and photos) Negotiated 13 € instead of 16 € on Booking for a room with two small beds and a private bathroom. This hotel is honestly run-down and not worth the price at all. The owner thinks it’s a very classy hotel because of its old reputation! Midelt: Chez Ali, city center (see map) Negotiated to 14 € instead of 17 € on Booking. Room with two beds, bathroom, window, small terrace, and Wi-Fi. Er Rachidia: Hôtel El Fekri. Rue Moulay Abdalah Ben Ali (see map and photos) Couldn’t negotiate on-site—14 €, but on Booking, it was 5 € more! Rissani: Hôtel Restaurant Panorama +212 615 978 445 Well, I’d say skip it. Rooms without windows and shared bathrooms. Or on the terrace, there’s a sort of space with a big bed and a small bed behind a locked iron door with a window and an external bathroom that’s also used by people eating on the terrace. If there are people on the terrace, forget about privacy! Not to mention the internet doesn’t work, and the bed is as hard as a straw mat. All that for 150 MAD—luckily, I didn’t book through Booking, or it would’ve been more expensive!!! I didn’t stay. This closet isn’t even worth 100 MAD—and even that’s too much! A little further on, I went to a hotel where no one spoke English or anything else. I got a large room with 3 beds, a private bathroom, and Wi-Fi for 100 MAD. Merzouga: Said’s apartment +212 618 659 264. No real address—it’s right next to a souvenir shop, far from the center. (see photos) 15 €. The apartment is large with two bedrooms and all the comforts. But for me, it was too far from the village. Chez Belkecem: Marked on GPS. I don’t have any coordinates (see photos). +212 666 911 732 Negotiated on-site to 13 € with breakfast; on Booking, it was 2 € more. The room is decorated in a Berber style, with a private bathroom and a window to the outside. The worst breakfast I had in Morocco! Tinghir: Dar Al Medina Av Mohamed V (see map) Beautiful hotel negotiated to 13 € instead of 18 € on Booking. Breakfast included, Wi-Fi, room with a double bed and a single bed, window, and private bathroom. (Top floor) Boumlane Dades: Auberge Tamazirt (no contact) see GPS. Negotiated to 13 € with breakfast. It’s rustic, but I had a private bathroom, a large bed, Wi-Fi, a window, and a double bed. And the best part—the super-friendly owner gave me one of the gas heaters from the hallway. Aït Ouglif: Hôtel Aït Marghad. (See the map) Negotiated to 150 MAD instead of 240 MAD with breakfast. The place was half-closed because it was off-season. Room with a double bed on the ground floor, window, Wi-Fi, and bathroom. Heating provided—essential. The hassle was that there was almost no hot water. Ouarzazate: Hôtel Atlas 13 rue du marché +212 524 887 745 It’s on the pedestrian street. (See photos) Negotiated to 13 €. Old-fashioned room, double bed with a very hard mattress. Private bathroom, window, and Wi-Fi. Taliouine: Hôtel Le Safran. A 20-minute walk from the center—no other choice. Otherwise, there are a few local hotels, but even if I’m not always picky, there are limits. (See the map) Negotiated from 300 MAD to 200 MAD. Breakfast, Wi-Fi, window, king-size bed, private bathroom. The room is large (No. 11). (There’s a pool in the hotel.) Hôtel Atlas Bordeaux: +212 666 752 292 (next to the bus station) Usually, I’m not too picky, but honestly, skip this one. This place could be good because it’s central if: the cleaning was thorough. The bathrooms need to be redone... etc. No sheets—just a sort of blanket on the mattress and another to cover yourself. Obviously not clean. No towel. A bathroom that hasn’t been cleaned in way too long. In short, absolutely avoid. 120 MAD! Taroudant: Hôtel (mini) Atlas Bld Mansour Eddahbi (see map and photos) Double room with window, large bed, private bathroom, Wi-Fi (not great). A hotel that doesn’t look like much but is sparkling clean! 90 MAD for a single, 120 MAD for a double. Tiznit: Résidence Chem (see map) 100 MAD for a room with two single beds (very hard), window, private bathroom, and Wi-Fi. Clean but poorly maintained. Tafraout: Espace Tifawine (see the map). Hotel with a pool. Negotiated to 14 € on-site instead of 30 € on Booking. I could even choose my room. A large room with two beds—one big and one small. A large bathroom, a window, and Wi-Fi. Sidi Ifni: Hôtel Suerte Loca. (No contact, see GPS) I paid 140 MAD for a room in this dive—no negotiation possible. My room had a tiny terrace, the walls were repainted, but it’s super noisy (neighbors). Worse, when someone uses the water, there’s a loud machinery noise. That’s not all—the mattress is really worn out and sagging. The bathroom isn’t great. The Wi-Fi doesn’t work! This place still enjoys its old reputation, but it’s really run-down, and everything is old. The bedding is the worst I had in Morocco. Skip it. There’s much better for cheaper elsewhere! Hôtel La Belle Vue: Just before Suerte Loca +212 528 875 242 The reception staff was more than unfriendly. After seeing the rooms, I didn’t stay because the bedding would’ve been like sleeping on a yoga mat. Obviously not worth the 200 MAD asked for. Hôtel Aït Baamrane. Further down on the beach. Same price as above. The only difference is that everything is in good condition and comfortable, with a warm welcome.
Hôtel Safa: (see the map and photos.) On-site, no negotiation possible—200 MAD; on Booking, it was over 350 MAD. Huge room with all the luxury you could hope for. Breakfast included, large bay window, king-size bed, TV, Wi-Fi, furniture, and of course, a private bathroom. Agadir: Hôtel Kamal (see map) The only hotel I booked through Booking because there was a good discount. Except on-site, the hotel never wanted to give me the discount. At night, small insects that strongly resemble cockroaches—yet it’s high-end with doormen, etc. I contacted Booking, but nothing worked! I paid 250 MAD! Essaouira: Hôtel Elkasbah Souiria (See map and photo) Small room (No. 18) with a single bed and all the comforts. Private bathroom, window, Wi-Fi, and breakfast included (all-you-can-eat buffet). No negotiation possible—200 MAD. Chez Lina: Rue El Khemiset +212 658 042 562 (she speaks French) Large apartment with two bedrooms. Private bathroom on the landing. Wi-Fi. New, so not yet well set up. Far from the center. I paid 15 € instead of 18 € on Booking. Marrakech: Hôtel Atlas 50 rue Sidi Bouloukate +212 661 358 662 Tiny room on the ground floor with a shared bathroom. Wi-Fi, tiny window, very dark and noisy. 12 €
On December 31st, I’m joined by friends. The rooms will be for three people. Marrakech: Hôtel Agnaou 10 avenue or passage Moulay Rachid. +212 705 306 275. Negotiated on-site to 28 € for a room with a window to the outside and a private bathroom. Wi-Fi. Riad Todos: in the old medina +34 643 480 502 Watch out for extra taxes they might try to charge you. No heating. This place could be nice if better maintained. Bad smell of cat urine. Water leak in the bathroom. Wall crumbling from humidity. However, the reception staff is warm and tries to satisfy you. 120 MAD booked on Airbnb! Imlil: Auberge de la Vallée (see map) Large room with 4 beds. All comforts. Private bathroom, heating, Wi-Fi, and breakfast. Negotiated on-site to 300 MAD for three people. Ouarzazate: Hôtel Iazal: Av. Moulay Abdellah +212 524 886 187 (see photos) Very expensive for this hotel. Small room for 3 with a tiny, impractical bathroom. Heating, Wi-Fi, window. The showerhead is placed between the tiny sink and the toilet. The small space floods quickly. Far from the pedestrian center. No negotiation possible—350 MAD for three. Agdz: Guesthouse Le Chant des Palmiers. (See map) Very nice room—more like a small apartment with a fireplace corner, gas heating, private bathroom, Wi-Fi, windows, bedroom area plus two single beds. Breakfast included. Negotiated to 400 MAD for 3 people instead of 840 MAD on Booking. Zagora: Hôtel La Palmeraie. (See map) Room with bathroom, Wi-Fi (not great), heating, and window. Breakfast included. No negotiation—300 MAD (for 3). Aït Ben Haddou: Auberge La Barraka (see the map) Large, beautiful room with windows, Wi-Fi, heating, bathroom. Breakfast included. Pool. Negotiate a good price—but I didn’t note it down. (Around mid-January) Essaouira: El Kasbah Souiria. (See above) Room for three. Same benefits. No negotiation. 500 MAD. Casablanca: 664, Résidence Clémentine BD Mohamed V, Roches Noires. +33 6681 48002 Large, upscale apartment. Not far from Casa Voyageurs train station. Booked on Booking. 45 € (Last day, January 16th). Upon arrival, the price is always a few euros cheaper than on Booking—except in rare cases. Then, negotiation is possible or not! Fes: Chez Hakim. (See map) Very good, hearty, and almost cheaper than anywhere else in the medina. Ouarzazate: Pasto wood-fired oven Place Al-Mouahidine +212 696 484 281 It had been a long time since I’d eaten such a good pizza (better than in most restaurants in France). At a price that beats all competition! Midelt: Berber Restaurant. (See map and photos) A dive that doesn’t look like much but is delicious at a more than affordable price. Marrakech: Dar EL WALIDIN Raid laahrouse, Rte Sidi Abdelaziz +212 653 493 637 Great selection, good food, and also cheap!
(At Jemaa el-Fnaa square. Under the warm welcome at restaurant « Chez Ali N° 65 », we got scammed out of 7 € when paying the bill! Experts at swindling.) Azrou: Snack La Forêt (see map) Again, good food at a low price. Merzouga: Snack Alafrah VOLUBILIS: The price has gone up to 100 MAD. Honestly, if you’re not an archaeology buff, it’s not worth it! Example: In Fes, they asked me for 50 MAD from the bus station to the Blue Gate. By walking a bit further and being patient, I got a taxi for 20 MAD! Another example: From Agadir’s bus station, they asked for 40 MAD to go to Hôtel Kamal. In the end, I paid 15 MAD! Same price as above. The only difference is that everything is in good condition and comfortable, with a warm welcome.
Hôtel Safa: (see the map and photos.) On-site, no negotiation possible—200 MAD; on Booking, it was over 350 MAD. Huge room with all the luxury you could hope for. Breakfast included, large bay window, king-size bed, TV, Wi-Fi, furniture, and of course, a private bathroom. Agadir: Hôtel Kamal (see map) The only hotel I booked through Booking because there was a good discount. Except on-site, the hotel never wanted to give me the discount. At night, small insects that strongly resemble cockroaches—yet it’s high-end with doormen, etc. I contacted Booking, but nothing worked! I paid 250 MAD! Essaouira: Hôtel Elkasbah Souiria (See map and photo) Small room (No. 18) with a single bed and all the comforts. Private bathroom, window, Wi-Fi, and breakfast included (all-you-can-eat buffet). Sidi Ifni: To go to Legzira, there are green shared buses that leave every 2 hours for 6 MAD. Petit Taxis: You have to negotiate hard—the price can double. Example: In Fes, they asked me for 50 MAD from the bus station to the Blue Gate. By walking a bit further and being patient, I got a taxi for 20 MAD! Another example: From Agadir’s bus station, they asked for 40 MAD to go to Hôtel Kamal. In the end, I paid 15 MAD! Here’s all the practical info I gathered during my trip to Morocco from late October to mid-January. It’s up to you to see if it’s useful or not.

Je m’adresse aux connaisseurs du Maroc. Nous partons du Québec, arrivée Casablanca et retour par Marrakech (via Paris) 18 jours au total, de la fin mai au 10 juin. Nous louerons une voiture pour les déplacements sauf pour les derniers jours à Marrakech. Idéalement nous aimerions voir Fès mais aussi la région de Ouazazarte, Le haut Atlas, Essaouira et un peu de bord de mer. Est-ce trop ambitieux comme programme ? Nous sommes conscients de la route à parcourir mais nous ne voulons pas passer notre temps en voiture. Sinon quel serait l’itinéraire conseillé, les musts? Y a-t-il des contre indications compte tenu que nous serons dans la période du ramadan?

We had a few hiccups retrieving our luggage—1.5 hours of waiting and a mini interrogation at customs about our host’s address (they asked for a reference) and questions about a Moroccan ID card I’ve never applied for. Next time, I’d better have it—dual nationals get extra scrutiny.
We headed to the ONCF station to catch the train to Marrakech. First-class tickets cost 195 MAD, with assigned seats and decent comfort… the catch? The train was delayed, so we arrived at 2:50 AM instead of 12:10 AM.
We chose the Ibis Gare, located between the ONCF station and the Supratours bus terminal. We booked two nights from France for 79.85 €. To avoid the premium-rate call, just dial the hotel directly—they’ll handle the reservation. I’d signed up on the Ibis website beforehand for a discount (free and comes with perks).
On-site, we added 44 MAD for the tourist tax (11 MAD x 4 nights). We skipped breakfast—too pricey at 6.50 € per person. The hotel has a nice pool and a pleasant setting. The shower seals weren’t perfect, but the bedding was comfy, the linens soft, and the AC worked (though it was noisy). We were overall happy with it.
We had breakfast and lunch at a café/restaurant right across from the hotel—affordable and tasty.
For phones, we bought two Inwi SIM cards for 30 MAD each and a 5 GB internet top-up for 50 MAD—more than enough for our 16-day trip. Later, we added two 20 MAD call top-ups. Total phone budget for both of us: 150 MAD.
Taxis in Marrakech: No issues. We always asked for the meter—if a driver refused, we’d just move on. No haggling for us!
Day 1: We visited the Majorelle Garden (70 MAD per person). It was beautiful and peaceful. We walked there. In the afternoon, we took a taxi to Jemaa el-Fnaa square. The constant solicitations were exhausting—I felt like a guard dog fending people off. The worst part? We got lured deep into the medina to some sketchy spot under the pretense of seeing "Berber tanneries"—"last day!"—then had a guy grab our arms, demanding 200 MAD. I offered 50 MAD max since we hadn’t asked for anything. When he insisted, I threatened to go to the police. He finally let go for the 50 MAD. We headed back to the hotel to enjoy the pool before returning to the square for the evening. It was lively but noisy, and I found the vendors *way* too pushy. We walked back to the hotel—an hour-long stroll that was actually really nice. We kept no more than 150 MAD in our wallet at a time. We stuffed ourselves with smoothies—they’re *so* good.
Day 2: We left at 8:30 AM for Tinghir with Supratours, arriving at 4:45 PM instead of 4:00 PM (lots of roadwork). Tickets were 130 MAD per person + 5 MAD per checked bag. We stayed one night at the "Retour au Calme" hostel—super cozy! 150 MAD for a room with a private shower and toilet. AC was an extra 80 MAD per night (not mandatory) but worked great. Phone: +212 5248-34924. Breakfast was 30 MAD, and they offer tons of options, including budget-friendly choices like a couch for 80 MAD per person with shared showers/toilets. Half-board and full-board are also available. Mohamed and Alexandra are lovely. I booked by phone and paid on-site—they even picked us up from the bus station!

Two rooms are available in this unit for 190 MAD per night for two, including breakfast.

He quoted us a price of 380 € for April. What do you think of this rate? This might sound like a silly question, but is it common to negotiate the price for this kind of thing (we're booking from France)? It’s still a big part of our travel budget.

Partant de Marrakech le 21 février jusqu’au 7 mars nous avons louer une voiture 340 euro chez e dream fournisseur thrifty nous n'y connaissons rien donc assurance tout risque entre guillemet hein !! après le paiement j'ai vu qu'il fallait rendre compte de notre trajet auprès de l'agence et avoir la franchise de 16 000 dirhams sur notre compte chose impossible pour nous, comment allons nous faire ? Du coup j'ai annuler et je viens encore une fois vers vous pour la nouvelle location que nous allons prendre. Merci

2ème question: Croyez-vous nécessaire de réserver le billet de train en avance de l'aéroport vers casa voyageurs et l'inverse? En fonction du retard/avance de mon avion, je ne veux pas prendre de risques.
3ème question: Quel est d'après vous le meilleur hammam traditionnel de la ville? J'ai entendu parlé de La Pacha ou encore de l'Hammam Ziani. Qu'en pensez-vous?
4ème question: Un restaurant traditionnel préféré? Au bon Délice ou la Sqala?

J'ai lu de bons échos sur l'hôtel Immouzer dans la médina et prix qui correspond à notre budget. J'ai envoyé un mail pour une demande de réservation, ils m'ont répondu rapidement mais apparemment il me faut louer deux chambres de 2 lits... Pour la première nuit d'adaptation ca m'embête un peu, d'où ma question pour vous: connaissez vous un hôtel chouette, dans les prix de l'Immouzer (360dhs) qui a des chambres avec 4 couchages? J'ai vu l'hotel Essaouira qui avait l'air pas mal mais complet le jour de notre arrivée..

C'est décidé ce sera Merzouga pour aller passer une nuit à la belle étoile dans les dunes fin mai.
Avez vous des noms de guides å me conseiller avec qui vous avez déjà fait cette immersion dans le désert ?
Si possible en tout petit groupe 4 personnes par exemple , sans nuisance sonore, quads... Sans luxe non plus, et sans avoir à dormir la veille à Marzouga. Arrivée le jour même Et pour finir Partir plutôt à dos de dromadaire plutôt qu'en quad ou 4/4. Voilà j'ai tout dit, je ne sais pas si c'est faisable. Merci à l'avance pour vos conseils. Françoise.

On m'en avait parlé à Marrakech , c'est confirmé par un article ; les droits d'entrée de certains monuments seront multipliés par 7 pour les étrangers .

Bonjour à tous, nous partons fin avril: arrivée à Fès, nous restons 2 nuits, puis nous avons prévu de descendre directement à Merzouga en bus Supratours de nuit. Nous restons 2 nuits à Merzouga, puis c'est là que j'ai besoin de vos conseils.
J'ai prévu de passer par Erfoud, Tinedjad, Tineghir, et jusqu'à Skoura, en visitant à l'aller ou au retour, les vallées et gorges... Retour vers Tineghir, on remonte vers Ilmichil, et retour sur Fès.
Alors, transport locaux ou location de voiture ???
Je n'ai pas de problème avec les "taxis brousse", je connais l'Afrique de l'ouest. Mais c'est l'attente qui me pose problème. J'ai seulement 11 jours en tout.
Et puis en taxi ou bus, on ne peut pas s'arrêter partout hors des villes.
Ne serait-il pas plus judicieux de louer une voiture à Erfoud ou Errachidia, pour aller jusqu'à Skoura ? Et remonter de Errachidia à Fès en grand bus ?
En écrivant ce message, je penche plutôt pour la location, mais je crains les tracasseries des autorités routières... et je ne connais pas l'état des voies.
