J'ai donc procédé avec une opératrice à un changement de CDP, avec le code VISA qui augmente le tarif initial de 173$, qui semble être le prix à payer pour ne plus en entendre parler...

j'ai remodifié la réservation en utilisant le Code Visa 1er ( carte que je détiens) que j'avais oublié et qui a été accepté. La différence n'est plus que de 40$.... par rapport au mail initial, donc, peanuts, donc basta!
Pour l'instant je suis parti du même principe. 60$ d'augmentation uniquement en utilisant le code Automobile Club d'Alsace qui donne 15% (même 17,5 si je calcul moi même) contre 10% annoncé par le gars au téléphone.
Le compte ACA est au nom de Madame mais au Club on me certifie que toute la famille peut l'utiliser !
Mais je ne décourage pas, je vais essayer d'aller au bout de la démarche car c'est carrément déplacé pour un groupe de cette ampleur.
UN GRAND MERCI à tous ceux qui ont soulevé ce lièvre qui aurait pu (pas le lièvre!) occasionner une très désagréable surprise en fin de séjour pour une résa payable en agence.

Avec ta description oui, normalement ta carte est estampillé CREDIT. Si elle est marquée DEBIT, ta banque a fait une erreur et demande leur de la remplacer !

Birarrement, ma carte Visa Premier enregistrée au programme Hertz Gold, et donc à la réservation, mi débit mi crédit du groupe Banque Oney anciennement Accord comme tu dis, a été refusée au comptoir et il a fallu que je présente ma deuxième carte MasterCard du groupe Casino qui, elle, est passée alors que je ne l’avais pas enregistrée à la résa.
Effectivement, je viens de faire une simu : aucun des codes (dont le H811101 utilisé pour ma résa d'il y a 15jours) que j'utilise habituellement ne fonctionne 🤪
C'est surprenant car même le code USAA (inscription gratuite sur leur site) ne donne rien.
Le seul code qui a fonctionné c'est celui de Air France Flying Blue (inscription gratuite). Au plus bas niveau (AWD F982700 qui correspond au statut "Ivory" qui est celui des débutants), on a une réduction de 10%.
J'ai l'impression qu'on est dans une période de transition après l'été.
Je viens de faire une comparaison de prix chez Hertz, même modèle, même période, même durée, 36% d'augmentation.
La seule différence est le lieu de départ/retour : LA et LV.
Donc je ne perds rien à attendre pour voir l'évolution des prix.
La cotisation annuelle la moins chère est d'une quarantaine d'euros il le semble. Pour nous c'est inclus dans le contrat assurance auto au Crédit Mutuel.

Cette année pour ma réservation en juin 30 jours, je suis passé par le site Hertz.co.uk pour un SUV Q4 635 €, 21€ jour avec le code 510000 et PC 192021 sur le site Fr c'était plus de 800€ .Pas de problème au comptoir Hertz de Lax. Pour le moment le meilleur tarif pour un SUV en mai, juin 2019 c'est sur Skyscanner.net anglais 25€ jour . J'ai déjà fait plusieurs réservations sur opodoo anglais et annulation sans frais et aucun problème de remboursement au centimes près.
Le code Visa CDP 769986 donne de super tarif sur le site Hertz.co.uk 26,54€ jour pour un SUV Q4 alors que sur le site hertz.fr c'est 30,54€ jour

Salut JP. J'espère que c'est pas la galère ton déménagement. J'ai eu un gars hertz au téléphone ce matin et j'ai quand même l'habitude de traiter au quotidien pas mal de soucis par téléphone. Il avait l'air sincère et n'avait rien à me proposer il a essayer plusieurs codes et m'a dit qu'il n'a rien à moins 20 en ce moment. J'ai finalement donné un code que j'ai trouvé via mon automobile club à moins 15 mais moins 17, 5 calculé.
Je leur ai fait un courrier sur FB, j'attends une réponse.
Le soucis c'est qu'ils ont changé leur écrit sur les contrats. Il n'y a plus la mention tarif garanti depuis juin apparemment. Avant cette date c'est OK, et selon lui si c'est mention est là on peut réclamer. Si non, non pas de réclamation.

Je me répète sûrement mais le tarif journalier n'a pas changé. C'est le Cdp qui a été désactivé.
Donc le tarif de location n'a pas chgmange c'est la remise associée annulée qui fait augmenté le prix.
Exemple je met mon Cdp gold mastercard pour une location dans 6 mois en paiement sur place. Mastercard ou hertz décide d'annuler le partenariat et supprime le cdp. On perd la remise qui était active vu que le paiement n'a pas encore été effectué !!!

Bon, j'ai fait une simul' avec le code pour VISA CARDHOLDERS, et j'en suis une ! Ca me met un tarif qui a pris 70 € d'augmentation par rapport à ce que j'avais obtenu au départ... Mais, bon, on limite la casse, puisque à la base, ça m'augmentait le tarif de plus de 300 € !! Je pense donc que je vais valider, en espérant qu'ils ne viennent pas annuler ce cdp. J'ai l'impression que que tout leur système est buggé en ce moment. Y a peut être des mise à jour ou quelque chose. En tout je compte bien vérifier régulièrement pour voir si le cdp se réactive. Now, after seeing and reading a bit everywhere, and with the first quotes for a 6/7-day safari, I’m shocked by the prices (like $2,250) for places like Maasai Mara, where entry alone costs $200 per person per day, plus fees for the driver and vehicle.
So if you have any recent great tips or contacts to share to help me out, I’d really appreciate it—because despite the costs, we’d still love to go, while keeping things reasonable.

The classic spots that have been fueling our dreams: Bariloche, the lakes, Chiloé, El Chaltén, Torres del Paine, Perito Moreno, El Calafate, Fitz Roy, Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego, and wrapping up in Valparaíso.
We’ll take a round-trip flight to Santiago, then I’m thinking of a one-way flight from Santiago to Punta Arenas. From there, we’ll explore and do several day hikes in the south, including Ushuaia and, if possible, Tierra del Fuego.
Then we’ll head back north by bus to Bariloche and the lakes, followed by Chiloé, then a bus to Santiago and Valparaíso.
Based on your experience, could you help me figure out the best way to structure this trip and maybe suggest some ideas?

After browsing through the forum, we’ve realized the country is packed with incredible spots, which makes choosing an itinerary tough. We’re looking for stunning landscapes, hikes, and so on. So, we’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences.
When we arrive in Cape Town, we’d like to settle in and take it easy until New Year’s, exploring at a relaxed pace. We know this period coincides with South African holidays—does that make finding accommodations (availability/prices) more difficult? Do you think it’s possible to stay in a nice place for about 15 days without aiming for the most upscale neighborhoods? Maybe somewhere a bit outside Cape Town, like Fish Hoek, and just visit the city occasionally.
After that, we’ll have plenty of time (about 2 to 2.5 months) to explore the country. We’d like to take our time. In your opinion, is it better to focus on the Cape Town region, or is it reasonable to consider more distant areas like the Drakensberg or Blyde River Canyon? Can everything be done by car if we take our time, or are domestic flights sometimes more practical?
Budget-wise, how much do car rentals cost? For accommodations, we usually look at Airbnb—are they affordable in South Africa? What’s the average nightly rate outside the biggest cities? Are there other platforms you’d recommend for saving on lodging?
Finally, regarding safety, are there any regions to avoid besides Johannesburg?
We know this is a lot of questions, but we’re still in the early planning stages!

After exploring southern Peru in 2024 with your help, we’d love to head north next. There’ll be 5 or 6 of us:
1. Arrive in Lima in the evening.
2. Visit Lima and take a flight at 6:35 PM to Tarapoto.
3, 4, 5. Spend a few days there to trek in a reserve (Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve) or somewhere else.
6. From Tarapoto to Chachapoyas—either by overnight bus, daytime bus, or private car.
7. In Chachapoyas: Gocta Waterfall, Sonche Canyon, and walk back to town.
8. Head to Kuelap citadel, Revash, and arrive in Leymebamba.
9. Leymebamba museum, then route to Cajamarca.
10. Cajamarca hot springs, overnight bus to Trujillo or Chiclayo—or do both.
11, 12, 13. Visit and explore the area.
14. Overnight bus back to Lima.
15. Lima.
16. Depart at 8 PM for France.

Iquitos or Nauta for the Amazon rainforest—I saw that you have to fly there.

And if we have time, Huaraz for the Andes cordillera.
No problem taking overnight buses—they save a lot of time.
Or renting a car and figuring it out as we go.
We’d also love to take the train from Lima to Huancayo, but it seems complicated—I don’t understand when it runs.
I’d like to drive to Morocco from Paris via Spain. I was really surprised to see the ferry crossing prices—around 500 €—but especially the crossing time (about 1 hour). Normally, I pay 3000 € to go to Tunisia from Genoa, but that’s for a 24-hour crossing.
My question: is it cheaper to buy the ticket on the spot, as some Moroccans have advised me? Though I’ve also heard the opposite.

I’m planning a 10-day trip to Slovenia in May (9–19 May) and starting to look at accommodations. Unfortunately, I’m only seeing relatively expensive options—nothing under 50 €, and usually around 100–150 €. Traveling solo, that could quickly blow my budget. And 30 € for a bed in a 10-person dorm at a youth hostel feels like a rip-off...
Are there other booking sources besides the usual Booking.com, Airbnb, and Google? Or can anyone confirm if I’ll find more reasonable rates on the ground around Bled, Bohinj, Triglav, or in mountain huts? I’ll be renting a car to optimize my travel, so I won’t be limited geographically.

I’d like to know if it’s better to book the entire stay in Nice and take day trips to the villages, or if there are villages worth spending at least one night in to really explore them properly?

I’d like to get around using the *car jaune* (2 € per ticket), but from what I’ve heard, it doesn’t cover the whole island.

For four years in a row, I traveled across Canada for a month and a half each time, relying only on hitchhiking and half-board stays with Canadians who welcomed me (and refused to let me pay them).
