Je serai à New-York en août pour 5 jours avec ma fille de 18 ans🙂. J'ai pourtant fait de multiples séjours à NYC tant à titre privé que professionnel et j'y ai donc fréquenté pas mal d'hôtels, mais vraiment pas facile de trouver 1 hôtel correct, propre, bien situé, à prix raisonnables pour cette période (moins de 150€/nuit) et ... avec 2 lits dans la même chambre !🤪
Après de longues recherches et sur les conseils de 4 amis enchantés qui viennent d'y séjourner 1 semaine, je viens de réserver à THE POD (230 East 51st Street), ex-Pickwick Arms. Il y a de très bons commentaires sur les différents forums.C'est un hôtel bien situé dans east midtown, inauguré début 2007, très bon rapport qualité/prix, très propre, original, moderne, branché, "fun".... Les chambres sont petites (on est à NY !) mais bien conçues. Réception 24h/24. Terrasse panoramique accessible 24h/24.
L'accès Internet sans fil est gratuit dans tout le Pod. Toutes les chambres et suites sont pourvues d'une station d'accueil iPod! Bref, il paraît qu'on pourrait se croire dans 1 hôtel ipod/Apple !!!😉
Parmi les différents types de chambres disponibles, j'ai opté pour la solution la + économique, soit la petite chambre avec 2 lits superposés, chacun possédant son propre téléviseur avec écouteurs ! Superficie d'environ 8 mètres carrés 🙁. Lampe de lecture pour chaque lit. Ménage quotidien. Salles de bains en commun (très propres) : un afficheur dans la chambre indique la disponibilité des salles de bains en granit et en marbre, chacune équipées de douches avec pomme à jet de pluie et jets d'eau latéraux, et de musique en continu!! Coffre de sécurité dans la chambre. Fenêtre ouvrante.
J'ai été séduite par le concept, surtout pour ma fille ! 😄
Bon à savoir : sur les différents sites de résa en ligne, cet hôtel était proposé pour mes dates et mon type de chambre à 619€ pour 5 nuits. J'ai regardé directement sur le site de l'hôtel http://www.thepodhotel.com et j'ai réservé pour 737 $ TTC (soit environ 540 €, soit 108 € la nuitée). Je suis sûre qu'il est possible d'avoir une chambre à moins de 100€ à d'autres périodes 🙂
Je pense qu'on ne sera pas déçues... 🙂 Certes, ce n'est pas le luxe mais on ne va pas à NYC pour rester enfermer dans une chambre d'hôtel !!! 😉

J' ai regarde le prix d' une chambre queen en septembre et c' est cher... De $299 a $279 la nuit. J' aime bien la location dans MidTown par contre.

après lecture de votre séjour à NY, serait il possible de donner des tuyaux concernant NY, en effet, je prévois un voyage en aout 2008 avec ma petite famillet je recherche des hotels pas chers mais confortables (c'est juste pour dormir) et surtout pas trop loin des sites à visiter. je vous serais très reconnaissante pour ces infos....

je préfère aller dans les hotels sur time square, le Belvedere hotel est très bien situé ainsi que le Milford Plaza, ils ne sont pas loin des sites principaux tels que le Chrysler Building, Central Park .... ils sont de prix abordables. Pour le Riverside Studio, désolée mais je ne le connais pas en revanche une amie va au Desmond Tutu sur Chelsea et il est plutot à classer dans les hotels modernes et aussi accessibles au niveau prix.

At all-inclusive resorts, base salaries are extremely low for 10- to 12-hour workdays. Tips aren’t just a little extra—they often make up half of these families’ income.
Personally, I always prepare an envelope with euro bills in different denominations before I leave (they exchange them easily on-site). Here’s my method:
🛏️ For housekeeping: I leave a bill on the pillow every morning since schedules rotate daily.
🍽️ For servers: I always sit at the same table. At the end of the trip, I give an envelope to each server who took care of us daily.
🎉 For entertainment: I set aside an envelope for the animator who put in the most effort and really touched me.
The package covers the hotel, but our tips help support the people who make our vacations magical. Don’t forget to budget for this in cash when you pack!

For my husband's 50th birthday, we're going to Mombasa for 10 days and 8 nights in March 2026.
I found a hotel, the Kappa Club Crystal Bay Resort, and online reviews for this hotel recommend a guide named Omar. I contacted him via WhatsApp, and he's offering a 2-day, 1-night safari in Tsavo East, a "blue safari," and a Marafa Canyon day trip for 400 € per person.
I’m asking for help from people who’ve already done these excursions because I have no idea what these offers entail.

I was thinking of going to Martinique, but apparently, the hotels aren’t all-inclusive, which might be a hassle. If you have any advice, that’d be great. Otherwise, I was considering Mexico—a long-time dream. At an all-inclusive hotel with accessibility on one level (since I’m independent but in a wheelchair). Can anyone recommend 5 or 6 hotel names that meet the following criteria? (I’m not too picky, lol)
1. All-inclusive
2. Adults-only
3. Beautiful beach and pool
4. Hotel for relaxing (no "factory hotels")
5. One-week stay in February 2026
6. A nice hotel (3 or 4 stars) but no need for an ultra-palace
Oh, and I almost forgot the main thing 😉: budget between 3500 € and 4000 € for two, including flights from Montreal-Mexico-Montreal.

To add to the info in the title, I’m open to various activities, but ideally, it’d include snorkeling, hiking, dance (every evening if possible!), group tours, etc. I’d love to meet people (not necessarily a man—just people in general!). We’ll be in Venice from March 20th to 24th, and I’m looking (for two couples) for a hotel close to St. Mark’s Square—my husband can’t walk long distances. For four nights with breakfast, our budget is around 1,400 € per couple. To avoid too much walking for him, I’d also prefer a hotel where we could potentially eat dinner in the evenings.

You can’t pay online there—you just submit a reservation request (enquiry).
The second is the NWR (Namibia Wildlife Resorts) site: https://www.nwr.com.na, where you *can* pay online.
Is the latter one reliable?

Bonjour nous arriverons dimanche 5 mai ( à partir de 16h25) à l'aéroport de Punta Cana pour profiter d'un séjour que mon amie à gagner à l’hôtel Gran Bahia Principe La Romana.
L'avion est offert par la compagnie aérienne, l'hôtel je pense par la chaine hôtelière, mais aujourd'hui je m’inquiète du transfert car aucune info et j'apprends que rien n'est prévu.
D’après ce que j'ai vu le dernier car expreso part de Punta Cana à 16h00
Y-a t'il d'autres moyens de transports collectif (guagua) qui puisse faire le trajet ou au moins nous avancer jusqu'à La Romana ou San Pedro de Marcoris et je pense qu'on finira le trajet en taxi.
Si c'est trop compliqué ça sera navette privée mais on est plus "lonely planet " que navette privée et hôtel tout inclus.
