Atuona est un charmant village, mais ne pas oublier que c'est une île perdue au milieu du Pacifique. Si vous aimez la vie un peu repliés sur vous-même, dans une nature à couper le souffle, mais de laquelle on peut se sentir prisoniers aubout de quelques mois, c'est pour vous. Si vous aimez les sorties, les restos, les cinés, les boîtes, oubliez ! La mer aussi est très belle, mais elle se mérite ! C'est une île très belle, mais comme une amante capricieuse, il faut se soumettre à ses désirs. Les Marquisiens sont un peuple joyeux, mais moqueur, ils vous regarderont d'abord venir, et ensuite pourront se créer des liens d'amitié, ils sont un peu fantasques aussi, bref, avec eux, il ne sert à rien de se prendre au sérieux !
La réponse de Milou est une très bonne définition de Hiva Oa. Il est vrai que la vie sociale y est peu développée, cependant l'île est très belle.
Si ton mari est prof, je te conseille plutôt Nuku Hiva qui est plus développée avec un petit centre (tout récent) où tout le monde se croise et où tu pourras plus aisément rencontrer la population locale et expatriée. Il y a également (à Nuku Hiva) quelques activités sportives qui permettent de favoriser la vie sociale: danse locale, fitness, yoga, aquagym ect...ceci n'existe pas à Hiva Oa.

Il existe à Hiva-oa un cours de fitness, de la danse locale, des terrains de tennis, un club de va'a, un club d'arts martiaux un club de ball trap entre autre !
Lors de mes séjours sur Nuku-Hiva J'ai pas trouvé l'île plus particulièrement animée que Hiva-Oa, le seul truc c'est que son port se trouve dans la ville alors que sur Atuona c'est excentré.
L'aéroport est mieux situé 30 minutes de route contre 2h à Nuku Hiva avec un finish en piste.....
L'hôpital par contre se situe à Nuku-Hiva contre seulement un dispensaire sur Hiva-Oa ( qui attend toujours son 2eme médecin)
Je ne savais pas qu'Hiva Oa avait tant d'activités sportives...mais ce que je voulais surtout dire c'est qu'il n'y a pas à Atuona d'endroits où les gens se retrouvent à toutes heures autour d'un verre en centre ville (en dehors des restos). Le village de Taiohae (Nuku Hiva) est plus propice aux rencontres du fait que nous ayons depuis peu plusieurs snacks/bars (dont 2 ouverts en continue de 6h à 21h) en plein air sur le quai des voiliers.
ceci dit j'aime beaucoup Hiva Oa ou j'ai de très bons amis,
L'archipel des Marquises est dans tous les cas un endroit sublime qui mériterait de recevoir plus de visiteurs. Nos îles n'ont rien à envier aux autres archipels de Polynésie française. Là je pense que tu seras d'accord avec moi...

Mais je suis interpellé part le fait qui ai des art martiaux, comment peut ont ouvrir un club au marquise?
Quelle sont les demarche? Faut il des diplôme francais? Ou peut ont ouvrir un club sans diplom au marquise?
Je me permets de t'écrire car je suis tombée sur tes messages du forum indiquant que tu vivais à Taiohae.
Nous sommes, mon mari et moi , dans la phase de demande de mutation... et deux postes sont inscrits à la liste des postes vacants pour la rentrée. Pour mon mari, en Espagnol, et pour moi même, en Anglais.
Nous avons déjà été à Mayotte et nous avons adoré mais les enfants étaient plus jeune, notre fille y est même née.
Nous avons donc 2 enfants, l'un rentrerait en 6ième et l'autre en CP à la rentrée.
Nous avons un millier d'interrogations quant à ce collège, la vie à Taiohae pour une famille.
Pourrais-tu nous apporter tes lumières par rapport à ton expérience ou nous mettre en contact avec des personnes.
Parmi nos questions me viennent:
Comment sont les élèves du collège? Quel est leur niveau? (je me pose cette question car notre fils pourrait y faire donc ses 4 années de collégien et je voudrais savoir s'il y a un gros écart par rapport à la métropole pour un retour ensuite).
Comment est la vie au village (les infrastructures (santé, école primaire (du coup pour notre petite), le ravitaillement?
Quel est le coût de la vie (loyer, billets d'avion vers Papeete ou autre destination pour voyager un peu, )
Quel est le mode de transport le plus adapté sur l'île?
Le climat?
Trouve-t-ton des activités extra-scolaires pour les enfants (musique, sport)dispensés par des associations ou encadrants?
Notre fils, par exemple, est mordu d'escalade, fait du piano et de l'accordéon, y 'aurait-il une possibilité pour lui de faire ces activités? Sinon quelles sont les activités présentes?
Si tu pouvais nous apporter un peu de réponses, cela nous serait d'une grande aide.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
