Hi there,

This isn’t exactly a traveler’s question... I’d like to know who handles the technical side of this forum?

I run a similar forum on a different topic (unrecognized children), and we’re dealing with a few technical issues that are slowly killing our forum... so I’d have one or two questions to ask 😊.

Also, I was wondering who created this forum... who the administrators or moderators are, etc.

I think this forum is great. Much better than Facebook, which I’ve been using since it shut down (so I’m happy to see it’s working again...)

Hi there, At the very bottom of the page, there’s a “contacts” link where you can send a direct message to the admins. But I know they’re having technical difficulties right now, following the founder’s passing.

What are these technical problems? What programming language is the forum built with? You should get a little familiar with SQL 😛

Hi,

It depends on the technical issues you're having, actually. We use PERL for this forum. But just in case... feel free to contact us via the contact email, and we’ll pass it along to the developer.

Best regards,

Hi and thanks for your reply

Did the founder of "Voyage Forum" pass away? Who was it?

I’ll try to find the contact page

Hi and thanks for your reply!

phpBB? I think so.

No, I don’t know anything about it—I’m not the one handling the technical side of the forum...

Are you familiar with these forums?

Hi there, and thanks for the reply (sorry for the late response—I got "sidetracked" by life and then forgot to come back).

I’ll send you a message,

but honestly, PERL—I don’t think it’s the same one our association used.

This was the same forum 15 years ago, back when I first started coming to VoyageForum.

That said, maybe your developer still knows about it? We’re not sure who to ask for help...

Send us an email with as many technical details as possible about the language used to develop your forum. We’ll see if we can help.

Hi! The difference between VoyageForum and the forum you manage is that the latter runs on "templates" and comes "ready-made." In the end, you can’t modify it however you want. Unlike VoyageForum, which is "customized." So if you want to "customize" your forum, you’ll need to reprogram it.
