Je te reposte ma réponse, que tu n'as apparemment pas vue, à ta question d'il y a quelques jours et je suis prêt à détailler si besoin en fonction de tes réponses éventuelles
salut à tous, à ceux qui on déjà fait un safari photos, combien, en capacité mémoire pour votre APN aviez vous ? perso j'ai 2 fois 32go et 3 fois 8go mes prises seront en raw et sur un eos7d (25 mo/ prise en moyenne) merci pour vos avis A+

Tu ne nous dis pas combien de jours tu vas passer en safari, dans quelle parc ou réserve ou…, ni si tu t'intéresses à la photographie d'oiseaux ou uniquement au big five ou au big five + chacals, guépards, hyènes et autres herbivores 😉. Tu ne nous dis pas plus si tu copieras tes cartes, si tu les effaceras (on peut penser que non, sinon la question perdrait de son intérêt). Enfin nous ne savons pas si tu es un photographe compulsif ayant cédé aux joies du numérique ou si tu photographies comme au temps de l'argentique (mon premier safari a été couvert avec une quarantaine de pellicules de 36 poses). Selon tes habitudes de photographe, les zones et tes centres d'intérêt, tu peux faire de 200 à 500 photos par jour. Voire plus, ce qui ne veut pas dire que tu en garderas la plus grande parte... À multiplier par +/- 25 Mo par photo ! Si tu veux jouer la sécurité, pour un safari assez long, d'au moins 10-12 jours, je te conseille d'acheter (ou de te faire prêter, ça s'use pas, ou si peu) une autre 32 Go. Nous partons pour environ deux semaines avec environ 200 Go chacun, même moi qui suis atteint de déclenchite, je n'épuise pas mon quota, mais nous photographions des oiseaux, donc nous avons beaucoup de sujets (et beaucoup de ratés).

je m'intéresse de plus en plus à la photos depuis les années 2000 à peu près car c'est vrai qu'avec le numérique c'est plus facile et rapide de progresser (on efface, on recommence, on visualise de suite etc..etc.)
la photos animalière m'attire de plus en plus (ancien chasseur: du dimanche 😏 )
pour le safari, je fait:
3 nuits à MASSAÏ MARA
1 nuit NAIVASHA
1 nuit EMBOSELI
1 nuit TSAWO OUEST
je fait ce petit tour avec "RASHID ZAHRAN" un local qui apparemment à une bonne réputation (safari privé) .
c'est mon premier safari et en plus je viens juste d'acheter le 100 400 L de canon il fait un temps dégueu. je fait des essaies de ma fenêtre qui donne à 50m sur une route (essaie de rafale avec diffèrent types de réglages) c'est pas le top!!!!!!!!
je suis plus que stressé à 15 jours du départ 😠 c'est pourquoi toutes vos petites recommandations ou conseils seront les biens venus

le stress de louper mes photos par: précipitation, excitation
et puis louper un safari c'est pas comme louper une recette de cuisine
c'est pourquoi j'ai fait aussi le sacrifice de faire un safari privé car je suppose qu'avec plusieurs personnes( que l'on ne connait pas) dans un véhicule la cohabitation doit être très délicate pour ne pas dire tendu.
prendre son temps c'est je pense la clé

Ne stresse pas, avec le numérique tu as "l'hénaurme" avantage de pouvoir contrôler de suite ce que tu obtiens, soit juste après la photo (conseillé, mais dans le feu de l'action souvent négligé) soit le soir en les déchargeant sur un PC (Mac) ce qui est très très conseillé, car l'écran arrière d'un 7D ne donne pas une image assez précise pour juger finement des réglages.
Tu prends tes photos en RAW, donc les corrections de balance de blanc ne sont pas un problème majeur, idem pour une modification modérée de l'exposition.
Suis les (bons) conseils de Franky et qui peut coule, hakuna matata !

PS : tu pourrais aussi lire les dix conseils d'un pro du safari photo, Todd Gustafson, dont je recommande fortement le livre A photographer's Guide to The Safari Experience recopiés/traduits sur notre site.
PS : pour les réglages, si tu es attentif, tu peux aussi essayer une de mes méthodes favorites, réglage manuel, vitesse suffisante, 1/500 s ou 1/800 ou 1/1000 ou encore moins en fonction de la lumière du moment (tu peux descendre en vitesse s'il le faut si tu es en bon appui -bean-bag- sur des sujets statiques, l'IS est là pour ça, non ? ou si tu es dans les basses focales de ton zoom) , diaphragme ouvert au max (mais avec le 100-400 tu auras de meilleurs résultats en piqué à f/8 quand tu seras à 400 mm) et ISO automatiques. Le danger = monter trop haut en ISO, les résultats du 7D se dégradent bien à partir de 1600 ISO

Tu feras et tu ramèneras les photos que tu pourras. Et ce sera très bien.
La découverte... L'animal est de dos, tant pis. Appuyer sur le déclencheur pour immortaliser la rencontre. Maintenant que la "case est cochée"... patienter. En profiter pour jeter un oeil sur l'image. Vérifier que rien n'est cramé. Jouer sur les ILs pour rattraper les tendances.
L'approche. Appuyer encore pour capter le sujet qui grossit dans le viseur... ! Puis patienter un peu. Attendre le regard, la lueur dans l'oeil.
La pause. On s'arrête et on attend la belle pause : la gueule ouverte, les crocs qui brillent, l'eau qui gicle de la trompe éléphantesque.. et on mitraille, 7 images/seconde. On admire la bestiole, on réfléchit... La lumière est elle bien orientée ? Le profile est-il adéquat ? Le bokeh est-il comme je l'aime ?
Elle va partir... Capter l'instant où il saute de l'arbre, l'instant où il s'envole, l'instant où il bondit... L'instant où il tourne la tête pour un dernier regard... inoubliable. Et on mitraille.. on fera le tri (peut-être) plus tard...
3 semaines : 140 Go 😉 4800 photos. 1200 photos jetées. 375 photos montrables. 75 images-échantillons qui défilent pendant les apéros avec les copains. 18 Photos que j'aurais envie d'agrandir... 7 Photos inoubliables.
Profite des ces instants AVANT... Parce que après, c'est plus pendant... 😛

Photo taken at the end of August off the coast of Tasiilaq (eastern Greenland).
This is that kind of halo surrounding the top of this iceberg (it’s the only one I saw like this out of thousands).
It’s apparently a light diffraction effect combined with moisture freezing above the iceberg.
Estimated height of the iceberg: 30 m.

Does anyone have recent info on the camera fee amount at Tadoba-Moharli? We spent 8 days there in the second half of February, and the local tour operator (The Wild Cat Eyes) collected 2000 rupees per camera per safari without any receipt—totaling 240,000 rupees (~265 €) for 12 safaris (9 in core zones and 3 in buffer zones). The signs at the park entrance listed 250 rupees, and the tour operator ignored our requests for an official park receipt.

As a video enthusiast, I took on two challenges: walking all the way across France from north to south and filming the entire journey.
The result shows, first, that this kind of adventure is within reach for anyone, and second, how and where I camped along the way.

I’d like to buy a camera to take with me everywhere while traveling and hiking. My use case: automatic mode only, for travel photos and family moments (meals, etc.). I currently have a Lumix FZ300, which has really let me down—especially in low light. I got some pretty mediocre shots from my last trip, and I definitely won’t be going back there... So, I’d like to replace it. Here’s what I’m ideally looking for: A compact camera, large sensor, decent zoom, and weather-sealed if possible. Any recommendations?

I traveled for a long time with a DSLR equipped with an 18-250mm zoom, but I gave it up two years ago and replaced it with my smartphone, which is lighter and less "intimidating" for street photography. The photo quality is good enough for nice enlargements (up to 80 cm).

I highly recommend visiting this coastal region along the Adriatic Sea for so many reasons: diverse landscapes, refined and varied cuisine, a very pleasant climate, a discreet and welcoming population, no mafia (it’s sad to say, but many Italian cities are plagued by this scourge, which brings insecurity, filth, and extortion...), and apart from July-August, there’s no risk of mass tourism!

Between COVID waves, our Plan B took us to Venice from Trento. Quite the journey, indeed.
Hardly anyone in the City of Doges. The photos even won me a People's Choice Award at an exhibition in 2023.

I’m sharing a slightly unusual travel journal with three goals. To make it work, this discussion should stay in the travel journal section so we can find it easily and keep adding info to existing posts.
This journal is meant to help "newbies" discover these magical places.
We go to Southern Africa not just for the animals, but also for that soft light, the atmosphere, and those incredible wild campsites where you feel so at home... I’d love for you all to share your favorite spots here—those we miss so much.
The last goal is figuring out how to photograph them. Honestly, I’m not happy with my photos because they don’t capture the feeling I get when I’m there or that unique atmosphere.
I’ll start with one of the first spots that, for me, is one of the most beautiful in Southern Africa: Passarge Valley 2 in the Central Kalahari. There, you’re alone—completely alone. The next campsite is over 25 km away, and that’s a half-day of 4x4 driving. In front of you, there’s nothing but the CKGR plains with herds of springboks... absolutely stunning 😎

3 days in the Camargue... it’s really not enough!
I didn’t know the area before, but the Camargue is packed with "experiences": - Taking the ferry - Walking on the beaches and watching the kitesurfers - Crossing the dike on an electric bike - Horseback riding along the shore - Visiting a *manade* and attending an *abrivade* (cattle roundup) - Exploring Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, Aigues-Mortes, or Arles - Touring the salt flats of Giraud or Aigues - Photographing birds at the Parc du Pont de Gau - Watching a bull race and cheering on the *razeteurs* (bull-chasers) - Experiencing a Gypsy evening - Hiking "flat" among the reeds - Tasting bull meat - Relaxing in a peaceful haven - Testing mosquito repellent - ...
Needless to say, we didn’t have time to do it all in 3 days. We’ll be back!
A few tips: - For relaxation: a gorgeous guesthouse, *Le Mas de Bouvet* - For *manades*: the one at Baumelles, with a *Guytou* (herdsman) as warm as he is passionate - For tasting bull meat: *Le Chante Clair* in Les Saintes-Maries - And for birds: the Parc du Pont de Gau
If you’re a photographer, the park lets you stay until 6:00 PM, and afterward, you’re free to leave whenever you want. Those are the best hours for observing and photographing birds. But it’s also where you’ll see massive telephoto lenses that’ll make you feel small if all you’ve got is a small hybrid camera (like my Lumix G80) with a 100-300mm lens.
A few photo memories—starting with the *Manade de Baumelles*:

The concept is simple: one country, 5 photos that, for you, capture the essence of that country. The same country can be shared by multiple participants.
Everything goes, and the thread is open to anyone who wants to join—budding photographers, pros, or complete newbies...

je pars en voyage en Angleterre et envisage de remonter toute l'écosse en voiture / stop. Je suis photographe semi pro et ayant déjà eu pas mal de déboires en voyage avec mon matériel, j'aimerais bien l'assurer contre notamment les dommages accidentels etc.
deux questions:
- est ce que vous le feriez avec votre assurance maison?
- est ce que vous prendriez une assurance dédiée? et si oui, directement dans le pays concerné?
j'ai vu ce site https://hello-safe.co.uk/camera-insurance
avec des assureurs dédies comme photoguard et assetsure qui m'ont l'air bien surtout pour un voyage longue durée. vous en pensez quoi?

Il y a quelques années, j'avais fait cette photo jointe sur l'un des monuments funéraires du cimetière du Père Lachaise. J'avais à l'époque, posé la question de sa signification sur le forum, mais pas vraiment de réponse satisfaisante. Reste mon interrogation, donc je "reviens à la charge " avec cette photo. Merci à tous les chercheurs, connaisseurs... Pour ma part, ce n'est pas le 7 en lui même qui m'intrigue, mais le quadruple sur fond de delta lumineux! Bonne journée
