J'ai 17 ans, il me reste une annee de lycee et un bac francais que je voudrais remplacer par une annee de high school et son high school diploma aux Etats-Unis.
J'ai de la famille au Texas (chez qui je suis en ce moment en vacances), dont une cousine qui veut m'engager comme baby-sitter a temps pleins (sorte de au-paire arrange) pour ces deux fils de 1 an, je logerais chez eux, j'irais au lycee, et je m'occuperais des bebes en etant payee.
Que dit la loi pour rester une annee ?
Je regroupe presque toutes les raisons d'avoir un visa : famille, etudes, travail.
Mais je suis mineure...
Je ne veux pas passer par une de ces associations qui vous promettent une ouverture d'esprit et de culture pour 10 000 euros alors que les familles d'accueil sont benevoles.
La j'ai deja la famille, je n'ai besoin que des papiers.
A qui puis-je m'adresser ?

- Résider dans une famille ne donne pas droit à un visa.....
- Si par travail, tu entends être au pair.... Pour être au pair aux Etats Unis, il faut un visa J1, pour avoir un visa J1 il faut passer par un organisme officiel, pour passer par un organisme officiel il faut avoir 18 ans minimum
- Il te reste les études, là oui, tu peux peut-être demander un visa, mais il me semble qu'il faut être inscrit dans un établissement scolaire, et c'est eux qui te donnent les papiers pour ta demande de visa. Et je ne sais pas du tout ce que toi tu devras apporter comme preuve, car à l'Ambassade on te demandera avec quel argent tu comptes vivre pendant 1 an.....
Mais à confirmer par d'autres forumeurs.

La loi est très précise : elle dit que sans visa tu ne peux pas rester plus de 90 jours.....
Et qu'avec un visa de touriste tu n'as pas le droit de travailler.....
Si tu n'as pas de visa, il te reste la solution de rentrer en France au bout de 90 jours, et de repartir avec un nouveau visa de touristes de 90 jours. Ca marchera peut-être 2 fois, peut-être 3, mais les agents d'immigration ne sont pas c.... Ils finiront par te poser de plus en plus de questions....
Et niveau assurances, sans visa, qu'est ce que tu prévois ?
Ce n'est que mon avis, mais une année de high school et un diplôme secondaire américain, ce n'est pas ce qu'il y a de mieux comme niveau...Il vaut mieux viser des études universitaires que tu feras une fois que tu auras terminé l'école en France.
Aussi, pour avoir le droit d'étudier aux États-Unis, il te faut un visa étudiant, absolument. Je ne connais pas les démarches cependant, il faudrait que tu te renseignes.
Tu n'as pas le droit de travailler sans visa non plus, et le seul moyen d'en obtenir un, c'est de passer par un organisme (pour les visas au pair il faut un J-1, impossible à obtenir autrement que par un organisme). Bien entendu, tu peux bosser au noir mais attention...tu peux te faire attraper.

Encore un point important, pour mes etudes supperieures aux Etats-Unis, est-il mieux vu d'avoir un diplome de fin d'etudes secondaires francais (baccalaureat) ou americain (high school diploma) ??
Je ne sais pas, il faudrait te renseigner auprès des universités qui t'intéressent. Sur les sites internet des universités, il y a souvent une section information pour les étrangers.

Regarder le prix des ecoles est facile (internet). Savoir s'ils preferent un baccalaureat l'est moins. Mais je me suis renseignee et ca n'a pas d'importance puisque l'on passe un test avant de postuler dans les ecoles pour voir quel niveau on a et donc quelles ecoles on peut avoir.

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
The hectares have remained unused for years due to a lack of financial means, since the project requires what I’d call a considerable investment. As the main stakeholder, I have a minimal contribution to offer.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
