I filled out the B2 form for a visa application, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and book an appointment, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1er card, they refuse the payment with a message saying to check my details (address) even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this? Thanks for your feedback! Elisabeth

It might be that Boursobank isn’t accepted. Don’t you have another card? Or a family member with a "normal" credit card to try?

Your response is quite odd—it makes the Boursobank card sound "abnormal." It’s highly unlikely, even extremely improbable, that the bank is the issue. It’s a completely normal bank. On the other hand, things like switching browsers, disabling ad blockers, adjusting VPN settings, or trying from a phone are worth looking into.

I already tried switching browsers, using my boyfriend’s Boursobank card on both our phones, then another payment method on the site—the second one with a QR code scan. I still can’t get it to work and don’t understand their instructions at all.

Long story short, after 30 hours of filling out forms and dealing with ChatGPT, I’ve had it and decided not to go to the US anymore. There are countries with fewer visa hassles, financial requirements, and no embassy meet-ups.

I recently had this kind of issue with Japanese airline websites, and it was Safari on an iPad that finally worked. For the rest, I get you; it’s a sign—you shouldn’t push against the signs.

Clearly, you’re facing a major issue. Either you’ve been flagged and classified by US immigration services—which would surprise me, but you never know—or the problem lies between the chair and the registration device. And that’s more concerning.

Too bad to give up on the US. There are some amazing things to see there.

I’m afraid some of you might be getting a bit carried away with assumptions here. No, absolutely not—there’s no procedure that bans paying for an ESTA or visa based on which French bank card you use or where the applicant lives.

This year, it’s the USA for me again. The Southwest: Texas, Arizona, New Mexico... It’s gonna be hot, I know. But we’re used to it with our usual Middle Eastern destination. 😎
