So where are they and what are they doing?

But good people don’t like it when You follow a different path than theirs

Totally. It’s the drift of online social interaction spaces. If you don’t think like the leader, you’re ostracized.

I hope Voyage Forum now has the neutrality it was missing. 🙂

The politics of thought existed here too. But strangely, when you share it, it bothers you less.😏

Oh yeah, that’s a big constant in human beings. 😉

Besides, if we agreed with everyone who has different thoughts, how would we ever stay true to ourselves?

That’s not at all what I meant. I was thinking of those who attack when no one’s attacked them. Oh well, I’m doing fine, with or without the internet. If you insist.

What you're saying is false. No one here was ever chased away for their opinions; there was never a "thought police" or any obligation to think the "right" way on VF. Liberalism, on the contrary, has always been the forum's hallmark. Having never asked anyone to be silenced—and having instead been the target of members who wanted to shut down my views because they found them unbearable—I’m in a perfect position to tell you that.

My question still stands: blind or just being stubborn?😉

Enjoy your meal...

the ones that bother me, that annoy me, they're in your posts; that way of always being right in such a haughty manner, and also the way you express it with coyness ("in the vir...tual world," for example) have long kept me from interacting with you more,

Tatra annoyed, Tatra bothered... so Tatra relieved?

Tatra, an unshakable machine with Machiavellian rhetoric but inaccurate reading (thanks Kate), subtly distorting. Tatra with such a patiently cultivated posture. But Tatra suddenly overcome by human emotions... crumbling into dust at the foot of his pedestal.

Come on, after the Pétain reference, the Gaullist anaphora. 🤪 You just can’t say anything simply.

Hi there, I only recently found out it had reopened. Before Covid, there were funding issues, so it might have closed. I haven’t received any message to say it’s back up and running. After checking the site again myself, I still haven’t heard anything, even though I had messages to reply to.

We need to spread the word so it gets going again.

Hi there,

You’re not the first to report this. If you haven’t changed your email address in the meantime, it’s odd. If the admins have the time, maybe they can take a look at these issues...

Anyway, can’t wait for next winter for your sunny vacation! 😎

Good evening, I have a question: what do you mean by "neutrality"? Switzerland, for example, is a neutral country, but what makes its neutrality? Is neutrality an attitude that allows messages offering fraudulent loans?
AT Attila Globetrotter ·
Neutrality is an attitude that involves allowing messages offering fraudulent loans?

No.

It’s simply about a moderator leaving their personal opinions at the door when they’re on the job.

The question was asked in the "Miscellaneous" section, and the admin, whose first name is Hervé, replied and gave an explanation.

Thanks. I’m glad we’ve made up! !

Were we mad at each other?

Diverging ideas, opposing opinions exchanged between strangers on a written forum might not hold that much power. At best, they spark some feistiness (when pushing forward makes sense and your opponent is fair), at worst, indifference. ... Yet, strangely, in this disembodied space, beautiful things sometimes bloom. A bond, affinities, an instinctive connection... friendly or intellectual crushes that step out of the virtual world to take a stroll in real life.

And can lead to some lovely meet-ups.

Here’s a proclamation that hints at a peaceful future and gives hope for courteous discussions ahead. May some—including future newcomers or returning members—draw inspiration from it.

Well, here I am again... I haven't been back since the reopening. Moved on to other things, that's life.

Just dropping by to say hi and read a bit, but I'm not sure I'll participate much. I've developed new habits.

Anyway, I won't be creating any new travel journals—my blog takes up too much time to post the same things on a forum, sorry.

But if I can help answer some questions, I’d be happy to! For now, I’m still in Europe. I’d love to go farther, but we’ll see. Maybe one day.
JO Jojoone1 Globetrotter ·
Well, time flies—we really grew fond of you all!

As long as you're doing well, it doesn’t really matter where you are. Your travel style and the way you shared it really added something special to this forum.

Oh thanks, that's so kind 😊

Hello dear Jojoone the First,

I had seen this topic you started some time ago. I thought maybe I’d add my two cents... someday... And then time passed... Now that I’m coming back to it, I realize there’s really no need for me to do so. The 12 pages of "romantaries" (travel ramblings) speak for themselves, summarizing, supporting, and confirming the whys and hows.

Between the Instagram travelers, the freeloaders, the people who never say a word, those who only care about "evangelizing" in the name of their so-called superior culture, those convinced of their "divine word," and finally those who feed only on the embers of hatred hidden behind their screens—I definitely don’t think I have much left to do here or on other forums. By the way, one you seem to appreciate has methods that would please Mr. Putin, whom you seem, perhaps rightly, to hate. Go figure—it’s always possible to hate the mess but love wallowing in it.

There are still so many beautiful things to experience and so little time to waste on superficiality and negativity... Life’s too short.

Over the years I’ve spent—and continue to spend—surrounded by the peoples of Southeast Asia, I’ve made this expression my own: Carpe Diem.

I hope you keep finding happiness in what you believe in.

Best regards,

Partirdeloin
