Il me semble que le Port de Tanger-Med est éloigné de la ville. Quels sont les différents moyens de transport pour parcourir la quarantaine de kilométres en dehors d'un taxi?
Ne vaut-il pas mieux choisir la ligne Tarifa/ Tanger pour arriver plus près du centre?
Quel hôtel pourriez-vous nous recommander autour de 100€

Pause pour le lunch ? Route vers Boulmane Dades... Hébergement noté: Dar Rihana Dades KM25... Chez Pierre KM26... Aurberge Mirguine chez Ali KM14... Labyrinth Kasbah Dades KM9... Riad Dades KM9... lequel choisir? À prime abord on regardait pour aller +/- jusqu'au KM 25 et redescendre le lendemain matin,

Est-il nécessaire d'aller plus loin sur cette route ou bien si nous aurons eu l'occasion de voir amplement de beaux paysages jusqu'à cet endroit? Arrêt aux doigts de singe lors du retour vers Boulmane. Y a-t-il des courtes et intéressantes randos d'environ 2 heures aux doigts de singe ou ailleurs ds la région? ? Arrêt pour le lunch ? Route vers Ouarzazate avec arrêts Vallée des Roses et Skoura. Hébergement noté: Maison d'hôtes Dar Farhana, Riad Ksar Aylan, Hôtel Riad Amlal.

We’re planning to leave Marrakesh by rental car—this will be our second trip to Morocco. While we want to revisit some places, we also hope to explore new regions. Here’s the start of our itinerary, which could take 2 to 3 weeks. We don’t want to cover too many kilometers each day.
- Depart Marrakech for Essaouira, stopping to visit the Inzerki beehive. We’ll stay 3 nights in Essaouira to explore the city and the surrounding area. - Head toward Tamanar or that region for another 3 nights, exploring on a star-shaped route. We’d like to see the Paradise Valley and the coast. Not really keen on stopping in Agadir.
We’ve been to Tafraoute before, but I’d love to see some *greniers* (granaries) again, so we’re considering 1 or 2 nights there.

Pourriez-vous me donner quelques informations pour ce projet, notamment :
Vaut-il mieux partir de Sete ou traverser l'Espagne?
Les possibilités de camping d'une manière generale ( hors des sentiers battus)
La sécurité lorsque l'on decide de marcher un peu pour une ballade
Ce qu'il faut eviter
L'indispensable road book ou GPS à emporter
Bref tout ce qui pourrait rendre ce voyage moins inorganisé pour moi.

Nous serons avec nos filles de 12 et 14 ans qui veulent voir le désert, les dunes, une balade à chameaux … Nous pensions initialement aller à Merzouga car nous en gardons un très bon souvenir d'il y a 20 ans… Mais comme nous serons plutôt vers Mhamid je me demandais si cela était équivalent pour faire une petite excursion en chameaux éventuellement un bivouac sans être les uns sur les autres …. ou si il valait mieux pousser (en bus) jusqu'à Merzouga. Autre question : si nous voulons y etre pour le 31, est ce qu'il vaut mieux réserver?

Nous essayons de construire un séjour avec une arrivée à Agadir le 7 février 2020, genre 2 nuits sur place, puis Tafraout 4 nuits et encore 2 ou 3 nuits ailleurs. Pour un séjour de 7 à 9 nuits maxi
Petites questions à ceux qui connaissent évidemment :)
Peut on réserver et avoir à coup sur un bus qui va d'Agadir à Tafraout sur place (du jour pour le lendemain) ?
4 nuits dans Tafraout même, aurons nous de quoi nous balader sans nous ennuyer ? à pied ou en vélo...
Quel autre endroit sympathique pourrions nous faire, accessible en bus, pour repartir d'Agadir entre le 14 et le 16 février ?

I’m planning a road trip to Morocco in about a month. I’ve read quite a few discussions, posts, comments, and travel journals that have helped me prepare, but I still need your valuable input. The north seems easier to plan. It’s the south that’s got me wondering.
The plan: - 20 days in the south solo, going off the beaten path (looking for simplicity, encounters, discovery, and breathtaking views) - 10 days in the north with my wife and her 8-year-old daughter (so more coastal, some sightseeing—more "classic") When: August (I know it’s not the best time, but no choice) Duration: 20 days in the south + 10 days in the north (might seem short) Distance: 3,000 km in the south over 20 days. Rental vehicle to be decided (4x4?) (I’ve done a Portugal road trip from Lille—5,000 km in 3 weeks—and Italy several times, usually around 4,000–5,000 km in 3 weeks).
Route (I need to plot this on a map like Maps.me or Google...): Start in Marrakech -> Tinmelt -> Icht -> M’hamid El Ghizlane -> Agdz -> Khamlia -> Errachidia -> Tinghir -> Imilchil -> Boulmane Dadès -> Ouarzazate -> Telouet -> Demnate -> Arousse -> Ahansal Gorges -> Tilouguite -> Bin El Ouidane -> Oued El Abid Gorges -> Ouzoud Waterfalls -> Marrakech
On paper, this all seems "doable"... I’ve never been to Morocco before. It’s my first time. I’ve heard that Morocco is best experienced "slowly and peacefully," taking your time. I’d love to hear your thoughts on these points—that’s the whole point!
I’ve got a few questions and could really use your help with your on-the-ground knowledge and experiences: Is this really doable? Are the roads on this route passable? Any tips? Thanks so much for your help and for any time you can spare.

Nous venons vers vous afin que vous nous apportiez votre aide afin de planifier au mieux notre séjour du 22 mars au 04 avril 2020 à Agadir pour une première expérience au Maroc. Nous devions séjourner à Marrakech mais lors de la prise de nos billets d'avion la tarification était beaucoup plus avantageuse pour une arrivée à Agadir. Nous sommes un peu perdus, nous devons recommencer nos recherches et faire nos réservations pour l'hôtel, les paysages ont l'air différents, sûrement très jolis mais d'après les forums il semblerait que ce ne soit pas la meilleur destination que nous avons choisi, peut être à tord pour certaines personnes, la période semble correcte, c'est pourquoi, il est bon de se faire ses propres opinions . Quels sont vos conseils pour les visites, les hébergements (tarifs 35/40 par nuit €, est-ce suffisant ?) combien de jours est nécessaire pour visiter Agadir, que faire aux alentours, devons nous nous contenter de rester au plus près pour profiter, ou louer une voiture. Est-il possible de passer au moins 1 nuit dans le désert car les distances ont l'air difficile à calculer ce que nous avions vu au départ de Marrakech (Telouet/Ait Ben Addou/Skoura/gorges du Dades/Erfoud/Merzouga route retour par N'Kob ect… Faut-il prévoir de faire environ 3 h de route par jour avec nuits sur place, quel serait votre road trip au départ de Agadir …. We're looking to explore a part of the country we haven't visited yet, and I'd love to get some opinions or tips for my itinerary.
We'll have a rental Duster to get around.
-1- Marrakech to the Paradise Valley, arriving in the late afternoon. 2 nights there so we can explore the next day.
-2- From Paradise Valley to Tafraout.
Along the way, we'd like to visit some agadirs (Ikounka, Imeghguiguilne, Ighir, Tizourgane). I'm wondering if we'll have time to see them all, if we should visit all of them or skip some? Or if there are other suggestions?
-3- I plan to stay 3 nights in Tafraout.
Night 1 we might arrive late.
The following days to visit the village of Tagdicht, the Blue Rocks, and the Ait Mansour Valley.
Doable? Road or track conditions? Too much or too little time? Anything else to see?
-4- I was thinking of taking the road to visit the underground village of Icht.
Then heading to Tata to visit the Tollé and/or Messalites caves.
Same questions as before (road conditions, time, anything else)?
-5- Road to Tissint for a walk.
Road to Taliouine to visit the Glaoui kasbah.
Spend the night around there.

Two adults and two kids—we’re thinking about a 7-day trip to Morocco in mid-February. Our flights would arrive in Marrakech at 3 PM on February 13th and depart at 7 AM on the 20th. We’ve based our itinerary on travel blogs, but we’re not experts, so we’d love your advice.
February 13th: Arrival in Marrakech at 3 PM. Settle in and explore the city. Night in Marrakech.
February 14th: Full day and evening in Marrakech.
February 15th: Drive via Teoulet to Aït Ben Haddou (~3.5 hours), visit the site. In the mid-afternoon, drive (~45 minutes) to Ouarzazate. Spend the rest of the day and night in Ouarzazate.
February 16th: Morning in Ouarzazate, then drive (~3 hours) to Foum Zguid. Night in Foum Zguid.
February 17th: Early departure (~2-hour drive) from Foum Zguid to Erg Chegaga with a guide. Desert experience and bivouac. Night in Erg Chegaga.
February 18th: Sunrise at Erg Chegaga, return to Foum Zguid where the car will be parked. Drive to an intermediate stop. We’re not sure what to do at this point—any recommendations? Is there a better option than heading back to Ouarzazate? Night at this intermediate stop.
February 19th: Return to Marrakech, sightseeing, and night near Marrakech airport.
February 20th: Early transfer for a 7 AM flight.
Questions:
Do these travel times seem realistic? Any suggestions for a smoother trip or interesting stops without adding days? Is Foum Zguid a good choice for visiting the desert? What temperatures should we expect in the desert, especially at night? We’d really appreciate your feedback. Thanks!

Nous venons de retenir l'avion pour partir cet été au Maroc en famille (2 adultes et 2 ados) (arrivée Marrakech et départ Agadir). Je suis en train d'essayer de faire un planning sur 3 semaines. Oui je sais, le sud marocain est très chaud en été, mais nous sommes habitués de voyager sous la chaleur l'été. Je ne connais pas la région. Que me conseillez vous à voir et à faire sachant que nous louerons une voiture à Marrakech?

- Est ce que pour visiter la vallée du Dades, il est bien de dormir à Bou Thara? Combien de jours?
- Est ce que la route entre Tinghir et M'Hamid (pour voir le désert) est "roulable" et pas trop difficile? Il s'agit de 330kms, est ce faisable en 1 journée?
- Mêmes questions entre M'Hamid et Tata (voir Tafraoute mais je pense route trop longue)? Que voir ver Tata?
- des hébergements à me conseiller?

Idée d'itineraire : Marrakech- Ait Ben Haddou - Skoura - Bou Thara - Tinghir - M'Hamid - Tata - Tafraoute - Ait Mansour - Sidi Ifni- Mirleft - Agadir
J'ai quelques questions : - Combien de jours à Skoura?
- Est ce que pour visiter la vallée du Dades, il est bien de dormir à Bou Thara? Combien de jours?
- Est ce que la route entre Tinghir et M'Hamid (pour voir le désert) est "roulable" et pas trop difficile? Il s'agit de 330kms, est ce faisable en 1 journée?
- Mêmes questions entre M'Hamid et Tata (voir Tafraoute mais je pense route trop longue)? Que voir ver Tata?
- des hébergements à me conseiller?

5- Le réel temps de route entre les cascades d'Ouzoud et Marrakech! Parfois je lis 1h30 aller, d'autre fois je lis 3 heures!
6- Un endroit pour voir des fossiles de dinosaures (musée)? Encore une fois, pour mon garçon!

We’ve seen some already, like the one in Aït Kine, or the one in Tasguent, and of course those in Amtoudi, as well as the cliffside granary of Ifri. There are still many left to explore. Je n'ai pas réservé les vols mais on arriverait le 6/12, Fès et Meknès du 7 au 10/12, vol retour le 21/12. Il resterait donc 10 jours pour le reste.

Nous n'avons pas réservé de logements. Si vous avez des coups de cœur (pour la beauté du lieu ou pour l'accueil, les rencontres), on est preneur!
On aimerait avoir votre avis sur notre itinéraire : est il bien "cadencé" ? Si on risque de trop courir, que vaut il mieux supprimer ? Ou conseilleriez vous d'autres étapes ? Est ce que toutes les routes sont accessibles en Logan Dacia ?

J3 : Vallée des Roses. Nuit à Boulmane Dades => Avec notre voiture, je crois que le mieux est de faire l'aller retour jusqu'à Bou Tharar, non ? Avez vous des arrêts et/ou petites randonnées à faire seul à conseiller ?
J4 : Vallée et Gorges de Dades. Nuit à Boulmane Dades => idem, il vaut mieux faire l'aller retour en allant jusqu'à Aït Toukhsine, non? Des arrêts et/ou petites randonnées à faire seul à conseiller ?

Vaut il faire l'impasse sur une des vallées/gorges des J3/4/5 pour passer plus de temps à cette étape ? (si oui, que retirer?)

il y a qq années j'ai acheté une puce tel (avec contrat et passeport) dans une boutique . Je l'ai reactive l’année suivante sans aucun problème pour ces deux années d'utilisation.
Lors de mon dernier passage (2017) au Maroc a l 'aéroport des jeunes gens proposaient des cartes prépayées a insérer dans tel double sim ou débloqués (j'ai les deux).
Dois je me "casser" la tete a faire réactiver une puce vielle de trois ans ? ou prendre une carte sim (y a t'il 3G 4G) sur place ? si oui quel opérateur? je vais dans le sud (Tiznit)
Peut elle la question est un peu confuse ! je resume en une seule phrase quelle est la solution la - chere pour tel en franc et au Maroc et utiliser les données mobile via un smartphone par exemple pour un GPS

Je vis au Maroc et j'ai une voiture immatriculee au Maroc, je compte partir en espagne et au portugal cet ete, sauf que comme j'habitais en france et je voyage beaucoup entre la france et le maroc, je n'ai jamais eu l'occasion de changer mon permis francais pour un permis marocain.
Quelqu'un m'a informe que je n'ai pas le droit de conduire une voiture marocaine eu europe avec un permis europeen, une personne s'est meme vu immobilise son vehicule et a du continuer les vacances sans vehicule car ils conduisait un vehicuke marocain en ayant un permis francais. Hi everyone, just back from the 8-day Marrakech-Merzouga loop by car, and I’d love to share my feedback in case it helps some of you. Big thanks to all the forum members who kindly answered my questions!
Trip from Friday the 20th to Saturday the 28th, flying out of Marseille with Ryanair
- Landed late around 8 PM local time, exchanged some currency, and the rental agency (Magdaz Car, which I highly recommend) delivered the car straight to the airport with some great route tips (don’t blindly trust Maps.me). The night drive was a bit intense—lots of people out and about due to Ramadan. Stayed at Riad Midhou (really nice) on the outskirts of the city, which made it easy to hit the road the next morning.
- Day 1: Marrakech to Skoura. The drive was smooth, roads are great, but watch out for roundabout priority—it’s different from France. Beautiful route. Quick stop in Ouarzazate for lunch, Ait Benhaddou for the view (stunning), and the Fint Oasis (meh...). Spent the night at Taloute Ecolodge in Skoura, overlooking the palm grove (super cozy).
- Day 2: Skoura to Todgha Gorges via the Valley of Roses and Dades Gorges. Adventure-packed day! We crossed the Valley of Roses (pretty, but not as amazing as I’d hoped) and took a "shortcut" recommended by the *Routard* guide to reach the Dades Gorges without backtracking. After asking locals, they said, "It’s doable." Turns out it was a narrow, rocky cliffside track—no way to turn around! A stressful moment, with a nice scratch on the bumper and a good sweat. Fine in an SUV or 4x4, but not in a Logan... Then the Dades Gorges (nice) and a detour through the north to reach Todgha from above. Gorgeous mountain road and a quick stop on some snow patches—touching African snow! Spent the night at *Les Gorges de Todgha*—great place, except for the bathroom. The Todgha Gorges themselves are stunning!
Day 3: Todgha to Merzouga. Beautiful drive, and the view of the erg (sand dunes) on arrival is breathtaking! Totally worth the trip. Explored the desert and stayed at *Café du Sud* hotel just outside Merzouga—absolutely gorgeous.
Day 4: Merzouga. Desert exploration and chilling by the hotel pool (with a bonus sunburn). Lunch in Merzouga—I recommend *Dakar*—their lemon tajine was amazing. Spent the night in the hotel’s luxury camp, including a camel ride. The camp was beautiful, but I was disappointed we weren’t deeper in the desert given the price (100 € per person, including dinner, breakfast, and camel ride).
Day 5: Merzouga to Tamnougalt. Gorgeous route. First fine (a supposed stop sign...) but the officer was super nice—only 150 MAD. Stayed at *Kasbah Maktob*, right in the middle of ruins—really unique and beautiful!
Day 6: Tamnougalt to Marrakech. Another beautiful drive, and a second fine (minor speeding), same amount. Crossed a windy mountain pass during a big storm—traffic was blocked in the opposite direction (not sure why), causing massive jams for those coming from Marrakech. A few downed cables, but nothing serious. Arriving in Marrakech was tricky—hard to find the rental agency, and the traffic was intense (watch out for GPS trying to send you through the medina). Ask the rental company to meet you somewhere quiet. They didn’t even notice the damaged bumper... Stayed at *Riad Zifamo* in the heart of the medina. Big change of pace—so many people and so much hustle!
Day 7: Marrakech. Lots of wandering through the souk and a quick trip to Gueliz (not essential). A few tips for the medina: watch out for scooters weaving too fast, always negotiate prices (aim for at least 1/3 off what they ask, unless it’s a small amount), don’t buy spices—more expensive than in France! Head to the *Carrefour Market* in Gueliz for better prices. In the end, not many truly unique items—you’ll find more or less the same things everywhere.
Day 8: Early morning flight. We’d booked a car to the airport from the riad, but a taxi would’ve been fine—plenty available even at 7 AM. Security wasn’t an issue (we had lighters and liquids over 100 ml).
A few extra notes: Pleasantly surprised by the road quality—just a few potholes here and there, but overall very drivable. Watch out for the police—they’re everywhere! The car cost me 30 € per day (with the *Routard* discount) and about 90 € in gas. No safety concerns, no harassment, and no stomach issues, despite the ice in Marrakech. Breakfasts at the hotels were usually hearty—take advantage! The timing (end of February) was perfect—pleasant daytime temps and cool nights. Since it was Ramadan, nothing unusual to report, except it was hard to find food outside Marrakech at lunchtime. If I did it again, Merzouga is a must, but I’d spend a night in a real desert bivouac, deeper in the dunes. My stops (no more than 300 km a day) were well-paced, and with so few cars on the road, it wasn’t tiring—even though I’m not usually a fan of driving... Happy to answer any questions!

We have a little week of vacation from February 1st to 8th and we’d like to return to Morocco. In March 2024, we spent 4 days in Marrakech, 2 nights in the Atlas Mountains, and 1 night in Essaouira. This time, we’re hesitating between spending 3 days in Rabat and 3 days in Fez and the surrounding area (Meknes), or landing in Marrakech again but taking the road to Mergouza via Ouarzazate, the Dadès Gorges, etc. What do you recommend for this time of year? We enjoy both monuments (for the first option) and nature (for the second).

This time, we’re hesitating between spending 3 days in Rabat and 3 days in Fez and the surrounding area (Meknes), or landing in Marrakech again but taking the road to Mergouza via Ouarzazate, the Dadès Gorges, etc. What do you recommend for this time of year? We enjoy both monuments (for the first option) and nature (for the second).

A bit overwhelmed by all the accommodation options in Marrakech, especially with such conflicting reviews (super quiet, super noisy, comfy, horrible, etc.), do you have a guaranteed QUIET place to recommend (good insulation from the rest of the building and street noise) in the city?

Je recherche pour ma voisine qui doit se rendre au Maroc dès la fin du confinement, à Agadir, une voiture de location qui n'appartient pas à un grand groupe international, donc pas de Budget, Hertz, Europcar, Avis, Alamo, Thrify, Sixt, National Grenn etc....la liste et longue.
Pouvez vous m'indiquer une agence indépendante sur le secteur de l'aéroport, ma voisine veut faire travailler les agences locales, ce qui tout à son honneur.
Les sociétés Hertz et Avis couvrent déjà à elles seules, sous différentes appellations, 75 % du marché Marocain, Thrify quasiment 10 %, c'est donc quasiment impossible de trouver une agence 100% Marocaine qui ne soit pas dépendante d'un grand groupe international. nous partons du 14 au 24 février avec la ryan air pour Essaouira notre projet:
Essaouira location d'une voiture et départ pour Tamri qui sera notre première étape. jour 2 Taroudant. Jour 3 Tafraout. Jour 4 Tiznit. jour 5 et 6 Sidi Ifni. Jour 7 Agadir. jour 8 vallée du paradis. jour 9 et 10 Essaouira.
Nous avons lu tous les derniers carnets du forum concernant ces destinations et nous avons noté tous vos coups de coeur qui seront sans doute les notres. En ce qui concerne le change faut-il le faire dès notre arrivée à l'aéroport ? Peut -on se servir des euros dans certains endroits ? Cela fait plus de 30 ans que nous ne sommes pas retournés au Maroc, nous allons certainement trouver ce pays complètement différent. Nous avons hâte d'y être en attendant nous lisons vos carnets ainsi que ces magnifiques photos Merci à vous tous et à ce forum qui nous font aussi voyager
