L'impressionnant ballet aérien de Thanksgiving

bon après midi (ou bonjour) !à propos de Thanksgiving...Le ballet aérien d'un jour normal est déjà impressionnant à travers les Etats Unis comme on peut le visionner avec Flightradar24.commais Thanksgiving, quatrième jeudi du mois... c'est encore plus impressionnantcette année le New York Times gratifie ses lecteurs de cette animation commentée :Pumpkin Pie in Miami: Thanksgiving Flight Patterns

Bonjour,C'était en 2013.Le ballet sera-t-il aussi impressionnant cette année compte tenu de la récente mise en garde sur les voyages?

Une des raisons pour laquelle je ne prends jamais l'avion au alentours de Thanksgiving.
La circulation sur les routes sera tout aussi importante. Donc nous resterons a San Francisco pour cette fete.
Nous repartirons sur les routes au debut Decembre en esperant voir les Parks sous la neige

L'epouse de mon fils dit que nous souffrons de "Cabin fever"
Mais, mieux vaut souffrir de cela que d'autre chose. Il fut un temps j'avais des poussees "D'amphibologie" cela va mieux maintenant

en tous cas même en l'absence de Durandale qui ne prend pas l'avion ce week-end () les aéroports attendraient, lit-on dans la presse, 25 millions de passagers, essentiellement sur des vols domestiques...
supposons que ces chiffres soient exacts et que les vacanciers de Thanksgiving s'étalent du mercredi au dimanche soit 5 jours..
ceci représente en prévision 5 millions de passagers par jour
alors que la moyenne quotidienne selon les chiffres du DOT tourne autour de 2,19 millions (moins de la moitié)
si tous les jours de l'année étaient semblables à la période de Thanksgiving on aurait un trafic annuel de 5x365= 1825 millions de personnes
alors que le chiffre officiel du DOT tourne autour de 800 millionsp.s. je me suis livré à ces petits calculs, que j'espère justes, pour illustrer mon propos lors d'une discussion avec des interlocuteurs avec qui j'évoquais l'importance de la fête dans la tradition Américaine

Nope, I did not know it!
Since a good turn deserves another, here is a story with a different tack.
An Indian Tribe (US) decides to take a new leader, so they elect a young man.
He does not much about the rituals, he drives a pick-up truck, he has a cell-phone, and he is a man of his time.
On his first public meeting with the Tribe, someone asks him if the next winter will be cold!
Since winters are usually cold, he says “yes” and he tells everyone to pick up wood in prevision of the coming winter.
After a couple of weeks, not knowing if what he said was ok, he calls the weather bureau and asks if the winter will be cold. The answer is, yes.
So, he meets with the Tribe and he tells them to gather more wood.
Two weeks pass, and again he calls the weather bureau. He is told that the coming winter will be very cold.
Very concerned, he calls a meeting, again, and he tells everybody to gather even more wood.
Two more weeks pass, and again he calls the weather bureau. He asks is the coming winter is really going to be very cold. He is told that not only the weather is going to be very cold, but it is going extremely cold.
So, he asks, how do you know it is going to be extremely cold?
The man answers: We have been observing the Indians and they are gathering more wood than ever before
