L'un travaillera sur Papeete, et l'autre sur Taravao.
Nous devons trouver de quoi nous loger, sachant qu'on fera la route tous les jours...et puis de quoi circuler (voiture, 2 roues...)
On ne sait pas trop par où commencer...Où nous loger? Comment réserver et trouver un logement à l'avance? Même chose pour une voiture ou deux roues? Peux t on ouvrir un compte en banque depuis la métropole?...etc...

pas facile en effet d'organiser un départ aussi rapidement et pour aussi loin...
Pour le compte bancaire, tu feras ça ici à l'arrivée. Il suffira ensuite de faire un virement de France pour approvisionner un peu.
Il y a trois banques : la Socredo, la Banque de Tahiti et la Banque de Polynésie (groupe SocGen).
Pour le logement, il va bien falloir réfléchir à la situation géographique car vos lieux de travail sont à l'opposé l'un de l'autre. Taravao est à plus de 50 km de Papeete, soit une bonne heure de route quand tout va bien...
La logique voudrait de trouver un logement à mi-chemin de Papeete et Taravao, vers Punaauia ou Paea. Mais alors, celui qui bosse à Papeete va se prendre les bouchons le matin et le soir. Par contre, ça roulera bien mieux pour aller sur Taravao. Si vous décidez d'habiter près de Papeete, celui qui va devoir aller tous les matin à Taravao va avoir un sacré bout de chemin à faire. Dilemme donc...
Concernant les locations, ici elles sont quasimment toutes meublées donc pas de gros déménagement à faire en venant ici.
Je te déconseille de chercher un logement depuis la France. Il faut impérativement voir avant de se décider et surtout se rendre compte de l'environnement immédiat, du quartier, de l'implantation, etc... Un logement mal situé avec un voisinage bruyant peut vite devenir un enfer. Vous pouvez louer quelques jours une pension le temps de vous poser et de prospecter.
La période est propice à la recherche car en Juillet-Août, beaucoup de fonctionnaires repartent en France et il y a donc pas mal de logements sur le marché.
Pour une voiture ou un scooter, il y aura également le choix. Compter minimum 400.000 Fcp pour un véhicule correct.

je ne pourrai malheureusement pas conseiller une quelconque pension sur Papeete ou ses environs.
Pour les formalités téléphone, électricité et internet, ce sera comme en France et tu feras tout ça dès que tu auras signé un bail de location.
Pour l'électricité, ici c'est E.D.T (Electricité de Tahiti), soit dit en passant, une des plus chères du monde, donc méfiance avec les clims ou autres appareils gourmands en énergie... Le téléphone, c'est l'OPT qui gère (Office des Postes). L'abonnement mensuel est un peu moins de 20 €. Pour internet, c'est Mana (voir site internet mana.pf). C'est (pour l'instant le seul FAI du territoire). Compter minimum 45 € pour l'abonnement.
Pour la situation du logement, habiter Arue ne fera pas gagner grand chose car la route de la côte Est est très tortueuse et même si elle est moins fréquentée que celle de la côte Ouest, il faudra autant de temps pour aller à Taravao. Pour parler honnêtement, le plan de travailler à Taravao alors que le conjoint travaille à Papeete va vite devenir une vraie galère. Mais s'il n'y a pas le choix...

peut-être devriez-vous choisir votre lieu de résidence quand vous connaîtrez vos horaires de travail, afin de favoriser celui qui aura les horaires les plus difficiles....
Ils ne vous ont vraiment pas gâtés concernant vos lieux de travail, Taravao est très clame par rapport à Papeete, pour ma part, je ne chercherais même pas à Papeete, car venir en Polynésie et ne pas profiter de la plage, c'est balot ! Au fait, un détail qui a son importance si vous aimez la mer (et il vaut mieux, pour vivre à Tahiti) la plupart des plages sont privées, et si n'habite pas sur l'un des accès privés, c'est galère pour aller se baigner. le PK 15,5 est très bien, j'y ai vécu longtemps, plage sympa. Mais vous aurez des embouteillages de toute façon.

il est évidemment préférable de se rendre à Papeete en deux roues (moto ou scooter). Ca limitera considérablement le temps passé dans les embouteillages. Mais prudence car les accidents de deux roues sont nombreux ici... L'usage d'une voiture est par contre plus indiqué pour aller à Taravao, assez éloigné de Papeete et c'est une région où il pleut (très) fréquemment...
L'idéal pour vous serait alors d'habiter Punaauia. Il y a des accès publics à la plage notamment au PK 18 et un peu plus loin également.

C'est très vert, mais toutes les activités sont forcément vers la mer....mais on ne s'en lasse pas. C'est aussi bien fréquenté. J'en ai de trop bons souvenirs. J'y connais encore des tahitiens super sympa, nous sommes toujours en relation. Je pourrais te donner leurs coordonnées en MP si tu veux.
Punaauia est une commune très étendue (de Faa'a à Paea). Il y a de nombreux quartiers et zones résidentielles de standing, des quartiers plus populaires qui vont du bord du lagon à très haut dans la montagne...
Après, tout est question de budget et aussi de priorités (vue, calme, implantation, etc...)

pk15,5 c'est Punaauia, pk voulant dire point kilométrique soit 15,5 km depuis le centre de Papeete. Mais Punaauia est assez étendu et a des maisons pardon, des farés côté mer et montagne, le mieux est d'attendre d'être sur place pour juger et choisir. La solution 2 roues et voiture me semble un bon compromis. Je suppose que vous n'avez pas d'enfants, sinon, le lieu et les horaires de scolarisation présenteraient encore un autre problème.
Tu peux aussi envisager l'idée d'habiter à Papeete même pour qu'il n'y ait qu'une personne qui fasse de la route. En partant de Papeete pour aller à Taravao, avec la route des collines puis la route des plaines ça rallongera le trajet de 15 mns environ...
Toujours sur facebook, j'ai trouvé une location saisonnière qui pourrait t'intéresser car le studio est situé à Papeete. A voir et même discuter pour le pick up à l'aéroport....

je suis moi aussi enseignante et nous partons, mon amoureux et moi avec nos 2 loulous par le vol du 09 août (peut être le même vol que vous?). Nous avons notre réponse depuis le mois de mars donc nous avons eu le temps de préparer un peu le départ mais si tu as des questions je veux bien essayer d'y répondre. Notamment concernant les démarches avec notre administration.
Nous avons trouvé une maison sur place , je serais au Lp de Faa'a, acheté une voiture, et normalement réservé une place à l'école maternelle (pour l'aîné qui aura 3 ans ) et la petite dernière (1 an) sera gardée par son papa en congès parental.

oui nous avons ouvert un compte à la banque de la Polynésie qui est aussi la société générale. Elle est afffiliée à la CASDEN ce qui permet d'avoir des avantages et la gratuité de certains services (si tu es déjà sociétaire de la CASDEN ici).Il te suffit de leur envoyer une demande par mail (tu as un questionnaire https://www.sg-bdp.pf/devenir-client) concernant l'adresse sur place ne te tracasses pas tu donnes celle de métropole pour le moment. Ils te demanderont les documents nécessaires: arrêté de mutation, copie des passeport ou pièce d'identité.. j'ai également commandé un chéquier et une carte bancaire la (visa classique est internationale et suffisante pour l'utilité que l'on en aura)
Les moyens de paiement sur place seront indispensables car on ne peut pas avoir de devises avant de partir, le chéquier est impératif pour la location de voiture et maison et la carte pour retirer et subvenir aux premiers besoins.
