Je me rends au Népal, puis en Inde via la frontière terrestre. Je suis en train de me renseigner sur le visa pour l’Inde et je suis un peu perdue. Si j’ai bien compris, l’e-visa n’est valable que pour un franchissement de frontière aérienne ou maritime. Je souhaiterais savoir si, en allant au Népal avec une escale à New Delhi, je peux me faire apposer le e-visa sur mon passeport et ensuite passer la frontière terrestre Népal/Inde. La procédure de délivrance de visa indien depuis Katmandou a l’air très chronophage et coûteuse, j’aimerais un moyen d’avoir le visa indien en France.

Je pars en inde en Novembre et suis en train de compléter le evisa. J'ai quatre petites questions si vous pouviez m ' aider .

- au niveau du champs Surname , doit on mettre le mot d' usage Épouse entre le nom de jeune fille et celui de femme mariée ?

- la question " have you lived for at last two years in the country where you are applying visa " signifie bien le pays ou je fais ma demande de visa cad pour moi la France ?

- une fois que nous avons reçu le visa granted par mail , quel est le document qui fait foi pour la douane indienne ? Dois je imprimer un autre document ou vais-je en recevoir un autre avec ma photo ?

- Dernière question, j ai une double nationalité que je vais inserer dans mon formulaire : le second numéro de passeport apparaîtra t il une fois mon visa validé dans le document qui fera foi auprès des autorités ? Car, j ai une amie qui fait son evisa actuellement et une fois le evisa complété avec le champs second passeport et demande validée et payée, le champ numéro du second passeport reste vide (alors qu''elle l avait bien rempli) quant elle revisualise sa demande . Auriez vous déjà eu ce problème pour ceux qui ont une double nationalité.

Soit le 1er , le e visa, + 14 euros (mais c'est pas très clair) soit le second, celui egalement valable pour le Sikim et qui irait jusqu'a 90 jours. Ai je bien compris ? The Indian government has officially inaugurated the Navi Mumbai International Airport, one of the country’s most ambitious infrastructure projects, along with the final phase of Metro Line 3, a key axis to ease congestion in the megacity. The Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), located about 35 km from the city center, aims to eventually handle up to 60 million passengers per year. Built to reduce pressure on the already saturated Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Airport, it features ultra-modern facilities, sustainable design, and cutting-edge technologies for air traffic management and energy efficiency. At the same time, the completion of Mumbai’s Metro Line 3, connecting Colaba to Bandra-SEEPZ, marks a major advancement in urban mobility. This 33.5 km underground section will significantly reduce travel time and congestion in a city known for its chronic traffic jams. These two projects reflect the Indian government’s commitment to transforming Mumbai into a global hub, combining connectivity, sustainability, and economic development.

The Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), a project two decades in the making, has finally come to fruition. Phase one of the airport was inaugurated Wednesday by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar. Although the first phase, which includes Terminal 1 and Runway 1 with 10 bus gates and 29 aero bridges, has been inaugurated, flight operations will not begin immediately.

"Post-inauguration, the airport will be handed over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) for a security sweep, which could take 30 to 45 days. We also need to mobilize customs and immigration teams and complete end-to-end testing, which is a 45-60-day process," said Arun Bansal, CEO of Adani Airports Holdings Ltd, developer and operator of the NMIA, during a press briefing at the NMIA premises Monday. Even though an exact date hasn’t been announced, NMIA CEO Captain B V J K Sharma and Bansal said commercial flights are expected to begin in December 2025. Plans of major carriers Three major airlines—Air India, Akasa Air, and IndiGo—have already signed on to shift part of their operations to NMIA. Last month, Air India announced plans to start with 20 daily departures (40 air traffic movements) through Air India Express, connecting 15 Indian cities in the first phase. By mid-2026, it aims to scale up to 55 daily departures, including up to five international flights. IndiGo, which made its announcement in May, plans to operate 18 daily flights to more than 15 cities from the first day of commercial operations and intends to expand to 140 daily flights—30 of which will be international—within 18 months. In June, Akasa Air said it will start with 15 daily domestic flights, scaling up to over 300 domestic and 50 international flights a week within a few months. When asked which airline will operate the first flight, Bansal said, "We want all three airlines to be there on Day 1. It depends on who has the earliest slot that day, and the destination choice lies entirely with the airlines." Operations to begin with 12-hour window In the first month, flights will operate between 8 am and 8 pm, with the 12-hour window likely to be extended as operations stabilize. Although NMIA’s full capacity is 40 air traffic movements (ATMs) per hour, the initial phase will handle 10 ATMs—allowing 10 aircraft to land or take off every hour. Airlines are expected to announce routes and ticket sales soon. Touted as an international aviation hub, NMIA positions Mumbai alongside global twin-airport cities such as London, Dubai, and New York, and plans to launch both domestic and international operations from Day 1. Concession for international carriers When asked if international carriers will be given any concessions, Bansal said, "For international airlines, we will not charge them parking fees for the first year." The duo added that NMIA aims to reclaim Mumbai’s rightful place on the global aviation map. "For a decade… travelers didn’t have a choice—airlines couldn’t get additional slots (at the Mumbai airport), so traffic shifted to Delhi. We are course-correcting that with NMIA. It won’t happen overnight, but over the next five–seven years, you’ll see the change," said Bansal. He noted that Mumbai currently lacks direct flights to major destinations in Europe and the U.S., something NMIA hopes to change. "If you see east-to-west flights, Mumbai is a natural stop," added Sharma. As reported earlier, NMIA will eventually feature four terminals and two parallel runways, with a total capacity to handle up to 90 million passengers per annum (MPPA), compared to 20 MPPA in the first phase. In the long term, the airport aims to serve as a key transfer hub between the East and the West, enabling passengers from Southeast Asia to connect seamlessly to Europe and North America.

The info I’ve gathered from here and there—pretty unreliable!—suggests it’s impossible to get this permit in Assam (Guwahati) and that it takes about 15 days if you go through an agency (but where are these agencies located???). Questions aux nombreux spécialistes de l'Inde ... J'ai un e-visa pour l'Inde dont la date d'expiration est le 11 février 2020. Pour diverses raisons personnelles, j'ai dû repousser mes dates de voyage et j'arrive à Cochin justement le 11 février. Questions donc : 1/ la date mentionnée sur l'autorisation, soit le 11 février, est-elle celle du dernier jour possible pour entrer en Inde (et donc plus valable le 12) ? 2/ puis-je voyager en Inde à partir du 11 février ou le e-visa doit aussi être valable pendant toute la durée du séjour (et pas que pour la date d'entrée dans le pays) ?

Nous effectuons un tour d’Eurasie en stop/ transports en commun. Notre itinéraire nous fait passer par l’Asie Centrale, par la Chine, par le Pakistan puis par l’Inde.

Nous avions plusieurs questions au sujet des visas et des formalités administratives : - Visa Pakistan : Où est il possible de faire le visa pakistanais (entre Teheran et Bischkek/ ou Kashgar)? Est ce que la nouvelle procédure de e-visa fonctionne-t-elle en dehors de son pays de résidence? - Concernant le visa indien, est il possible également de le demander (entre Teheran et la Chine)? - Bus sur la Karakorum Highway : Est ce qu’il existe un bus reliant la Chine au Pakistan (autre que le bus de luxe qui coûte 75 euros) ?

Nous avons fait plusieurs recherches et les informations sont contradictoires ou difficiles à trouver...

We’re a group of 7 people heading to SRI LANKA in March.

We’re transiting through Mumbai (Air India flight), then after a few hours, we’ll take a SriLankan Airlines flight to Colombo.

The return trip follows the same route 26 days later.

The issue is about the Indian visa.

1- Do we need an Indian visa since we’ll only be at Mumbai Airport for a few hours (no checked baggage)?

2- Do we need a double-entry visa?

India is introducing an electronic arrival card for foreign travelers. The measure is effective for all travelers starting October 1st.

India is now adopting the electronic arrival card. Presenting this "e-Arrival Card" is now mandatory for all arrivals in India as of October 1, 2025. This formality replaces the paper card previously filled out on the plane or upon arrival. India aims to streamline traveler tracking. The requirement applies to travelers of all nationalities, both adults and minors, for all entry points into India. It’s an additional mandatory formality alongside the e-Visa or visa. The e-Arrival Card must be completed online within three days prior to arrival in the country. Available in English only, it’s free and can be done on the official Indian authorities' website. The document is valid only for the declared arrival day. "This means you’ll need to complete it for each new arrival," clarifies RapideVisa, an agency specializing in visa services. Travelers must provide standard information to obtain the document (passport number, purpose of stay, countries visited in the 6 days before arrival, etc.).

Once completed, a document with a QR code to present to authorities upon arrival is generated. With this new system, India aims to facilitate traveler tracking and reduce congestion at airport counters. Nearly 19 million international visitors traveled to India in 2023. Among them, 189,000 were French.

We're leaving on January 28th for a trip around Rajasthan. I'm trying to fill out the online form to get our visa, but when I reach the 3rd page and hit submit to move to the next one, everything gets erased and I can't continue. Hey fellow travelers! 🙂 I’m heading to India in January with a tourist multi-entry ETA (is it still called an e-visa?). First things first, if I’ve understood correctly: I can enter and exit India as many times as I want, as long as my total stay doesn’t exceed 180 days in a full year and no single stay goes over 90 days. Okay, that’s the theory. Now, how does it work in practice? I plan to spend 3 months in India (Rajasthan, then the Ganges Valley up to Varanasi, then Sikkim), then head to Nepal for another 3 months (Kathmandu, Pokhara), and return to India for 3 more months before flying back to France. But here’s the thing—I’ve got the impression (maybe I misunderstood) that renewing the Indian visa has to be done in Kathmandu or Pokhara, and only in one of those two Nepali cities. Yet, on *Le Routard*, I thought I read that you just need to "cross the border and come back," meaning you can enter Nepal at any border point, which would be way more practical... Imagine someone who wants to spend 6 months in northern India and starts from Shimla—they’d have to travel all the way to Kathmandu, then back to Shimla, crossing a big chunk of Nepal just to renew their Indian visa. That seems pretty convoluted, especially since the northwest border with India is so far from Kathmandu. I used this example because I originally wanted to spend 6 months only in northern India, and while waiting for clear answers, I’ve planned an alternative route (the one I described at the start of this post).

Could someone explain exactly how this Nepal border crossing thing works for renewing an Indian visa (and getting another 90 days, within the 180-day annual limit, of course)? How long does it take? How much does it cost?

Hi there, I have an e-visa valid until 11/8/24. I’m heading back to India on 11/3 for 5 weeks, so I applied for a new 5-year e-visa. Problem: in the visa section, I didn’t enter the number of my current visa—I put NA (not applicable). I’ve already submitted the application and can’t edit it anymore. I haven’t paid yet. 1) If I pay, could the 5-year visa be denied because of this NA? 2) If I don’t pay, will the application be canceled? If so, how soon? Thanks

Bonsoir, J'ai bien reçu l'acceptation de mon e-visa avec N° ID, N° passeport , application status '' Granted ''le N° ETA etc... donc je reviens sur le site ''indianvisaonline.gouv.in/evisa/StatusEnquiry'' je tape mon n° ID...mon N° passeport... le code à recopier...Il m'est écrit une rubrique en dessous - PLease enter above text... je tape sur check status et il me redemande les mêmes renseignements avec ma date de naissance .... Mais je ne vois rien marquer de ce que j'ai pu lire sur le forum... Que dois-je faire. (je ne parle pas du tout Anglais) pour avoir mon visa, je pars à la fin du mois... merci pour votre réponse et vos explications éclairées.

Le problème c'est que nous arrivons à udaipur, au départ de Paris, avec une escale à Delhi, et repartons au départ d'ahmedabad. Or l'aéroport d'udaipur n'est pas sur la liste des aéroports référencés. Pensez vous que nous pouvons néanmoins tenter de mettre delhi, ou bien cela peut nous poser quelques soucis a l'arrivée ? Je voyage en Inde actuellement avec un evisa de 1 ans et je dois quitter le pays au bout de 3 mois, c’est bientôt pour moi et je compte allez au Népal mais je ne comprends pas certains trucs... est ce que c’est possible de passer la frontière terrestre de l’Inde vers le Népal ? Je préférais éviter de prendre l’avion et de payer des frais en plus ... j’ai entendu dire qu’il fallait passer par voie aérienne obligatoirement pour faire ce transit , mais ailleurs j’ai lu que c’était possible : j’ai besoin d’être sûre ducoup si l’un d’entre vous a des infos je suis preneuse, merci d’avance :)) !

Attention: la procédure d'evisa pour l'Inde est un cauchemar pour le voyageur. Sans parler des multiples bugs qui obligent à recommencer la procédure à de nombreuses reprises avant d'arriver à son terme, je viens de me voir opposé 3 rejets successifs sans explication, la dernière demande ayant été entièrement revue par une personne particulièrement compétente... Et ce alors que la demande de visa de ma femme (faite par mes soins) a été acceptée du premier coup. L'arbitraire bureaucratique est donc poussé à son extrême, ce qui est une honte pour ce pays. Etant à moins de 2 semaines de ma date de départ prévue, je risque donc de perdre mon billet et de m'orienter vers un pays plus accueillant. A moins de sauter dans un TGV urgemment pour aller déposer une demande de regular visa au prix fort... sans aucune garantie non plus, d'ailleurs. Si quelqu'un a des suggestions, je suis preneur. Sinon, un bon conseil: ne jamais acheter un billet d'avion pour ce pays sans avoir au préalable obtenu son visa...

quelqu'un pourrait il me donner un conseil pour l'obtention d'un visa pour une personne retraitée et handicapée, afin de limiter au maximum les sorties hors de l'Inde? est on oblige de demande un visa touriste ?(pour quelle durée?)ou y a t il une autre possibilité? l’idéal serait que ma mère puisse rester 5 ans sans avoir a sortir, vu son état de santé

Bonjour Ma nièce vient de faire sa demande de visa en ligne et s'aperçoit qu'elle n'a indiqué que son premier prénom alors que sur son passeport figurent les 3. Elle me demande si ça pose problème, si elle doit refaire une demande. Je l'avais prévenu de bien remplir le formulaire. À 2 reprises nous avons vu des touristes se faire refouler pour une erreur d'une seule lettre. Je ne sais pas quoi lui conseiller car on a à chaque fois noté tous nos prénoms ? Elle mesure alors environ 6*6 pouces Je lis aussi que la photo doit mesurer 2*2 pouces ???? La question que je me pose : au lieu de lire "la dimension 350 *350 pixels" il faut lire "la résolution en pixel 350pixels par pouce" , auquel cas (avec photopad, gratuit) ma photo mesure 1*1 po si je la redimensionne en 2*2 po, la résolution est de 300pixels/pouces Quelle solution choisir (s'il y'en une de valable) merci

Nous ne sommes pas certains d'avoir bien compris les subtilités liées à l'obtention du e-visa 30 jours.

Par exemple, pour un départ le 30 janvier 2020, arrivée le 31, retour le 16 février, est-il juste d'adresser sa demande (e-visa 30 jours) aux environs du 5 janvier 2020?

Lorsque l'on reçoit l'E.T.A. dans les 24-48 h, on dispose bien de 30 jours dès cette date pour entrer en Inde? Et ensuite de 30 jours supplémentaires pour voyager en Inde grâce au visa apposé dans le passeport à l'aéroport d'arrivée?
