Stopover in Rovinj: What to do if we've already seen the city?

We’re stopping over in Rovinj this coming May, and since we’ve already visited the main sights (port, church, etc.), is there a walk we can do on our own—no boat needed—that would fill a morning? Thanks to anyone who knows the area…

Maybe try looking up "Kamenolom Rovinj," but no idea how to get there without a car...

Hi Ondine,

During a layover in Rovinj in June 2022, we took a long walk along the coastline. Here’s what I had noted in my prep at the time:

Zlatni Rt Forest Park, or Punta Corrente: A seaside park, vast and clean. Beautiful pine grove offering plenty of shade.

Mulini Beach: A pretty pebble beach with sun loungers available (expensive to rent).

Lone Bay beach

Zlatni Rt Beach offers a viewpoint over the islands of the archipelago.

Balota (to the north): A rocky area with stairs leading down to the water. We went in the afternoon under scorching heat and found it much less pretty than the southern part.

I also found this, but we didn’t go due to lack of time:

Birdwatching reserve south of Rovinj, with several spots for observing wild birds, about 10 km from the center.

Limski Kanal: A true little Norwegian fjord with its long azure-blue curves surrounded by lush green hills. There are small beaches to relax and dip your feet in the water, as well as options for fjord cruises.
