Je prépare un voyage en Floride pour une semaine avec ma soeur ( 28 et 29 ans) et nous souhaitons atterrir en avion à Miami et faire un road trip en voiture jusqu'à Orlando en passant par Keys West, Fort Myers, Everglades, Tampa et Orlando.
Mon parcours vous semble-t-il faisable en une semaine? Avez vous d'autres suggestions?
Est-il possible de louer une voiture à Miami puis la rendre à Orlando?
Dois-je la réserver avant de partir ( ils me débitent toute la somme dès la réservation sur internet) ou attendre d'être sur place?
Idem pour les hôtels, est-il préférable de réserver avant? Lesquels?
Nous hésitons entre 2 périodes : soit du jeudi au jeudi soit du samedi au samedi. Quel est la meilleure option
Le programme précis que j'avais en tête après avoir lu vos aventures :
J1 Une journée à Miami + une nuit
J3 Départ pour Keys West avec une nuit sur place
J4 Départ le lendemain pour les Everglades puis nuit à Fort Myers
J5 Le lendemain Naples, plages et départ pour Tampa
J6 la journée à Tampa et le soir départ pour Orlando
J7 une journée dans les parcs d'attractions
Mon sentiment c'est que tu veux en faire trop sur une semaine. Une semaine c'est peu et tu vas passer ton temps en voiture. Ajoute à cela le décalage horaire et la chaleur tropicale ...🤪
- Donc soit tu files sur Orlando faire les parcs (il y a 4 parcs à thème Disney, 2 parcs Universal, 1 parc Sea world ... il faut au moins une journée pour chaque)
- soit tu te limites à Miami, Key west (min 2 nuits sur place car il y a 4h de route depuis Miami pour y accéder), les everglades et la côte du golfe du Mexique...sachant qu'à Miami il n'y a pas grand chose à voir.
Il y a un truc qui ne colle pas dans ton circuit : Naples est plus bas que Fort Myers et la logique voudrait qu'il soit placé avant.

Je vais rectifier mon parcours du coup. C'est vrai que j'hésitais à partir sur Orlando. Je ne savais pas si cela allait coller avec les trajets voiture. Donc plutot faire :
J1 Miami
J2-J3 Key West
J4-J5 Naples en passant par Everglades
J6 Fort Myers
J7 Tampa et on rejoint l'aéroport à Orlando ou départ en avion de Fort myers???

Je pense que pour une semaine, ton programme est beaucoup trop ambitieux.
Si vous souhaitez avoir un minimum de temps pour visiter, il vaudrait mieux faire un choix entre Key West ou Orlando.
Soit: Miami / Key West / Everglades / Naples / Miami.
Soit: Miami avec excursion aux Everglades / Orlando. Suivant vos intérêts (plages ou parcs d'attraction), vous avez la possibilité d'effectuer le trajet d'une seule traite ou en passant par la côte du Golfe du Mexique.
J1 Une journée à Miami + une nuit 1 seule journée à Miami, c'est un peu court.
J3 Départ pour Keys West avec une nuit sur place
J4 Départ le lendemain pour les Everglades puis nuit à Fort Myers Question de logique, mieux vaut dormir à Naples qui est située avant Fort Myers. 😉
J5 Le lendemain Naples, plages et départ pour Tampa
J6 la journée à Tampa et le soir départ pour Orlando Vous avez prévu de faire quoi à Tampa ?
J7 une journée dans les parcs d'attractions Beaucoup trop court... Pour info, il faut prévoir une journée entière par parc d'attraction.

Oui.
Il vaut mieux effectuer la réservation du véhicule avant le départ, ainsi pas de souci sur place par rapport aux assurances.
Concernant les hôtels, tout dépend à quelle période de l'année est prévu votre voyage... Ensuite, c'est aussi selon le goût et l'envie de chacun... En ce qui nous concerne, nous aimons bien réserver à l'avance car pas de perte de temps sur place.

Effectivement, je suis allée sur le site de Cendryon qui est très bien fait. Je m'en suis inspirée d'ailleurs mais comme je ne pars que 6 jours ce n'était pas exactement la même chose.
J'hésite beaucoup en fait entre tes 2 propositions car j'ai entendu beaucoup de bien de Key West.....
On part le 8 Février en fait pour 1 semaine. Ma soeur me rejoint de Paris et moi je suis sur Cleveland pour 6 mois donc pas de décalage horaire pour ma part!
Pour Orlando, peut on ne faire qu'un parc d'attraction par exemple? je pense à Discovery Cove ( nager avec les dauphins!!! mon rêve) et faire les 5 jours avant Miami, Key West et les Everglades?
Vous pouvez aussi bien nager avec les dauphins à Marathon, dans les Keys. D'ailleurs niveau température, ça sera certainement plus agréable qu'à Orlando au mois de février... Quoique, renseignes-toi tout de même avant car en ce moment il gèle en Floride. 😉

Il me semble qu'il y a des départ de TAMPA en avion mais certainement avec escale à Miami... à voir.
J'allais te proposer de regarder mon compte rendu de voyage ou mes dossiers de prépa pour les parcs mais je vois que d'autres t'en ont déjà parlé 😉.
Pour la nage avec les dauphins, je ne connais pas Marathon mais je te conseille , pour toutes les propositions de ce type, de regarder très attentivement ce que l'on te propose pour le prix demandé qui est souvent très élevé.
par exemple , au départ, j'avais envisagé de faire la nage avec les dauphins aux Bahamas et puis, en "grattant", c'est à dire en regardant des avis d'utilisateurs et des vidéos amateurs, je me suis aperçue que c'était des pièges et qu'il s'agissait parfois simplement d'interaction où les touristes restent debout devant le dauphin en tappant des mains pour que celui-ci relève la queue etc....(ex à l'hotel atlantis) ou bien à d'autres endroits, dans une piscine minuscule avec beaucoup beaucoup de monde autour .... Alors à toi de bien choisir.

Si tu restes sur Orlando, tu peux faire du snorkeling et nager avec les dauphins à Discovery Cove. C'est cher mais c'est très bien... et puis tu y passes toute une journée petit dej et déjeuner du midi compris !

J'ai quelques question à te poser concernant Orlando et ses parcs. Nous allons y rester 4 jours, je n'ai lu que du positif sur Discovery Cove (à part quelques personnes décues de la nage avec les dauphins) donc on va certainement faire celui la, de plus on peut aller au Seaworld gratuitement après, quel autre parc me conseille tu? Car il y à un tel choix que c'est difficile pour moi je n'arrive pas trop à avoir une idée! Sachant que nous avons 23 et 26 ans et partons avec nos parents.
Concernant Discovery Cove, apparement tes enfants semblaient ravis, mais j'ai lu plusieurs critiques de personnes qui disaient qu'on avait très peu de contact avec le dauphin.
Ma soeur veut absolument nager avec des dauphins mais si c'est juste pour leur faire un bisou ca fait très cher payé peut etre qu'on peut trouver mieux ailleurs?
Une dernière question concernant Discovery Cove, combien coute le CD avec photos souvenir de la journée??

Bonjour, Si tu veux tout savoir des parcs d'attraction de la Floride, tu peux aller consulter mon blog qui relate de Universal Studio, Island of adventure, Busch Gardens, Sea World, Wet'n wild et Aquatica (2 parcs aquatiques).
Tout ce que je peux dire c'est qu'ils sont tous très bien et assez différents finalement.

Je me permets de répondre, car nous sommes allés à Discovery Cove en juillet 2008, où nous avons passé une très agréable journée ( mes enfants m' en parlent encore, et pas que de la nage avec les dauphins, mais le bassin avec les raies, la volière avec de splendides oiseaux...).
Enfin, tout çà pour dire que dans le prix de l'entrée qui est assez chère, tu as droit à un pass illimité de 14 jours dans un de ces parcs au choix: Sea World, Aquatica, ou Busch Garden.
Nous avions choisi Sea World, et comme Discovery Cove ferme tôt, à 17h si mes souvenirs sont bons, nous avions fini la journée là bas.
Bien sûr, nous y sommes retournés, pour une journée entière; il y a beaucoup de shows, tous à des horaires précis, mais aussi des attractions, donc pour tout faire sans courrir, c'était l'idéal.
En 2009, nous avons fait Aquatica, parc aquatique trés sympa, mais si je devais choisir, celà serait Discovery Cove.

Si tu dois faire 1 seul autre parc je te conseillerais EPCOT à Disneyworld. C'est original, cela n'existe pas en Europe. Il y a de très belles attractions dans la partie FUTUREWORLD comme SOARIN, SPACESHIP EARTH, LIVING WITH THE LAND, etc... et il y a aussi le WORLD SHOW CASE avec tous les pavillons des pays. Enfin, le soir, un spectacle pyrotechnique a lieu sur le lac.
Attention il faut arriver avant l'ouverture et aller chercher des fast pass pour Soarin dès l'ouverture pour éviter els files d'attente !

Il y a une ligne régulière pour Nassau à partir de Miami il me semble, mais pour ce que tu envisages, ça à l'air compliqué pour le faire par soi même.
Cococay est l'ile privée de la Royal Carrabean et je ne pense pas que l'on puisse y aller en individuel.
Ton tarif me semble bien élevé. Il me semble que l'on en avait eu pour beaucoup moins que cela et encore c'était au mois d'oaut. As tu regardé directement sur le site de la RC ou de Carnival ? Ils font aussi des mini croisières de 3 nuits seulement.

Quelles excursions me conseilles tu sur le bateau? Seatreck snorkelling à Cococay?
Penses tu que les everglades avec eux est une bonne chose? Ou le mieux est de faire l'excursion par nos propres moyens?
Pour Nassau tu peux choisir de faire l'excusion à l'Atlantis ou bien d'aller le visiter par toi même en taxi. SI tu le fais par toi même , en taxi, tu n'auras pas la visite guidée de l'hotel et si tu veux voir la partie "atlantide" avec les aquariums et le décorum tu devras payer l'entrée (c'est comme un musée).
Pour Cococay c'est selon tes goûts. Nous on avait choisi le snorkeling.

Evidemment, il ne faut pas 5 semaines pour faire le tour de la Floride mais en 1 semaine, tu ne feras que de la route et tu ne profiteras de rien.
Entre J3 et J4, cela ne me paraît pas possible sauf à simplement passer par les Everglades.
Personnellement, je préfère réserver avant quand je ne suis pas seul et c'est très facile à faire grâce à internet.
Après, la prise de risque sur les réservations de dernière minute est fonction de la saison. Par exemple, pour Key West, en janvier, il vaut mieux ne pas s'y prendre à la dernière minute.
Il est possible de louer une voiture à Miami et la rendre à Orlando mais il peut y avoir une tarification différente (à vérifier donc)
Quelqu'un l'a mentionné avant: qu'est-ce que vous allez faire à Tampa? Il n'y a rien à faire là-bas. Il y a la plage à St Pete/Clearwater si ça vous interesse, mais il n'y a rien d'extraordinaire dans cette partie de la Floride.
Pour une semaine, je me contenterais de Miami, Les Keys, et les Everglades (si vous y tenez vraiment), c'est déjà beaucoup.

Nous l'avons fait avec la Royal Caribean. Il faut aller voir les tarifs directement sur leur site. Avec le cours du $ c'est interessant.
Vous pouvez nager avec les dauphins à Nassau et cela vous fait un jour supplémentaire sur Miami ou sur la côte ouest si vous faites les everglades entre 2 par exemple !!

Hello everyone! Really damaged due to flooding caused by runoff after forest fires (a total mess!), does anyone in this friendly forum have any updates on the Apache Trail between Apache Junction and Roosevelt Dam? Is there still a section of the road that’s tough to navigate?
We're leaving at the end of June and will be driving the route between Buffalo and Cody. We’ve already booked our accommodations and a rodeo in Cody, but during the day, we’ll be driving between the two and I’m unsure about the itinerary.
Which route do you think is the most pleasant, interesting, or scenic between:
- The northern route via Highway 14 with Sheridan, Lowell, etc.
- The southern route with Highways 16/20/14, passing by Loaf Mountain Overlook, Powder River Pass, Ten Sleep Canyon...
We’ll be in a car, so we should be able to drive on any road.

I’m almost done planning our September road trip. After our 3-night visit to Sequoia, we’ll have a stopover night in Coalinga (to break up the drive). We’ll be staying two nights in Monterey and would like to stop along the way to visit one side of Pinnacles National Park. We’re torn between the West entrance and the East entrance, and we’d like to do a short hike of no more than 2 hours since we don’t want to arrive too late in Monterey.
This park is split into two distinct zones with no connection between them, and the mileage from Coalinga to Monterey is pretty much the same for both. Which area do you recommend visiting—east or west? And which route is the most scenic?
I’ve spotted two short hikes:
- East: Moses Spring to Rim Trail Loop
- West: Balconies Cliffs Cave Loop
Has anyone been there, or do you have another hike to suggest?

After our first trip as a young couple to the West in 2007 (yes, that doesn’t make us any younger!), we’re planning to go back in 2028, but this time as a family of four! (We have two boys who’ll be 5½ and 13 years old in the summer of 2028.)
Our plan is to combine a few big cities (SF and LA, maybe San Diego) with national parks and state parks, mostly!
Ideally, we’d like to leave at the end of June and head back to France around July 19–20, so we can enjoy the first week of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Since we already did the "loop" in 2007, there are must-see places we absolutely want to revisit—and especially share with our kids: Bryce Canyon, Yosemite, and above all, the Grand Canyon, which is still the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen on Earth!
On the other hand, some places didn’t leave a big impression on us for various reasons, so we’re not making them a priority: Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, for example.
We’re planning ahead, but might as well be smart about it😏
Do you have any tips for a fun and doable itinerary over about 20–25 days with kids, without rushing?

Just a quick question about King Canyon and Sequoia National Park.
Before our night in Miramonte, we plan to visit King Canyon. The next stop will be two nights in Three Rivers to explore Sequoia National Park. I wanted to go all the way to Roaring River Falls on the King Canyon Scenic Byway and then turn back to head to Miramonte. Since we’re coming from Oakhurst, Google Maps says it’s 300 km and 5 hours of driving. Since we also want to hike to see the sequoias (Big Stump Area and Grand Grove) before tackling the King Canyon Scenic Byway, the timing’s going to be tight. How far do you recommend going before turning back to miss as few points of interest as possible on the King Canyon Scenic Byway? Thanks for your advice, and have a great evening!

We’ll be alternating between house swaps, motels, and campgrounds. I’ve booked all the accommodations (except the campground at Bryce since sunset bookings open only 14 days in advance) and the first activities, as well as the most touristy ones.
I’m currently putting together my day-by-day roadbook and having some trouble planning certain days, like in LA or Las Vegas. Choosing hikes isn’t easy either—it’s tough to decide!

I’d like to travel along I-15N from San Diego to Las Vegas with my mom, who’s 67. We’ve explored Northern California and the California Coast over the past two years and now want to continue through the desert.
There are several attractions along the way:
- Mormon Rocks
- Desert Discovery Center and visit the Old Woman meteorite
- Joshua Tree National Park
- Mojave Desert
- Mojave National Preserve
- Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
- Silverwood Lake
My mom has back issues that prevent her from hiking or walking on trails with elevation changes. Is it possible to visit these places by car, or are the routes flat enough?
I’d love for her to experience the desert with an itinerary adapted to her condition. I’m also open to other points of interest that aren’t mentioned. We have 3-4 days for the trip, so we’re not in a rush—just want to explore.
I’d love to take a road trip and visit Nova Scotia. I’d appreciate some info on the best cities to see and the most interesting spots. The trip should last about 10 to 15 days, staying in hotels or motels. Thanks in advance!

Is it pretty easy to navigate Detroit Airport to catch the connecting flight to Grand Rapids (domestic flight)? There are several of them who speak English well.

We’d like to walk to Eagle Falls and then Eagle Lake. I’ve spotted two parking lots that seem close to each other and give access to the trailhead. Where and how do we pay for entry to Emerald Bay State Park and Inspiration Point?
**Viewpoints on the East Side:**
Are most of the viewpoints (Balancing Rock, Granite Cave, Bonsai Rock, etc.) right by the road, or do you have to hike to reach them?
**Donner Memorial State Park:**
Is it worth making a detour to Truckee to visit this park and the Truckee historic downtown?

I'm shocked by the price of the Upper Antelope Canyon tour—$175 for less than an hour… You might say, "if you can’t afford it…" But the real question is whether it’s really worth it, because $350 for two makes me feel like I’m getting ripped off. I’ve read there are trails to access the trailheads for Cinder Cone (11 km) and Warner Valley. Are these easy trails for an SUV?
Are there any other must-see spots or things we shouldn’t miss?

I’m a total USA addict. I’ve already done several road trips, including the East Coast and West Coast.
I’m here today because I’m planning to go back for another road trip on the West Coast. Possibly with one of my sisters and a couple of friends. It’s still just a plan for now, but I’m working on an itinerary in the meantime. Ideally, I’d leave in 2026, but I don’t have the exact dates yet—maybe April-May or September-October.
My last trip to the West Coast was in September 2014. We went for 2 weeks, but this time it’d be 3 weeks. What made me want to go back was simply a colleague who just left today. As I’m writing this, he’s on the plane. I’m so happy for him, but now all I can think about is going back.
Since I recently went to NY, I noticed that prices have really gone up. I assume the same is true for the West Coast? For 2 people over 3 weeks, what budget should I expect? We’re the type to watch our spending and find great tips.
I think we’ll arrive in San Francisco like the first time and leave from either Los Angeles or Las Vegas.

Travelers to the United States | Photo Now Mandatory Upon Entry and Exit | La Presse
I assume many of you already know, but the America the Beautiful annual pass, which was $80, will increase to $250 starting January 1, 2026.
So if you're planning to travel before the end of December 2026, it's in your best interest to buy your pass in December 2025, since it will still cost $80 and be valid until the end of December 2026 if you purchase it in December 2025.
This price increase only applies to non-U.S. residents.
Additionally, for those who planned to visit just one park, a $100 surcharge per person will apply to access a list of 11 national parks...
For example, if there are 4 of you in a car, you’ll have to pay $35 + $400,
which comes to $435 to visit one of the 11 parks on the list (I don’t have all of them... Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, etc.).
Total madness.
The goal is to push people who only visit one park into buying the annual pass.
Last point: free entry days are over for non-residents!

We just finished 9 days in the American West and wanted to share our experience because we had an amazing time.
I know some of you might ask, why use an agency? Honestly, we didn’t really feel like doing all the driving and planning, especially since we didn’t know the area at all. And since our English isn’t great, having French-speaking guides was a big comfort.
We found Emmanuelle and Isabelle, and wow, they were fantastic. It was just the two of us with them, so it was a truly VIP, ultra-personalized experience. They treated us like royalty from start to finish. These two live in Las Vegas and know the region like the back of their hand. The service was really personalized. They adapted to our pace and preferences, and we could stop whenever we wanted to take photos. It’s the luxury of being in a small private group—you’re not just a number on a big bus.
In short, we really felt like we were traveling with friends rather than professional guides. Everything’s included in the price (hotel pickup, meals, park entries, etc.), so the value for money is fair.
We loved it so much that we’re already planning to come back next year to explore other areas with them. I think we’ve caught the American West bug—it’s all we can think about, and we can’t wait to return.
