Hi, I’m thinking of heading to Malaysia soon. I’ve seen some great prices and direct flights from Paris with Malaysia Airlines. Is it a reliable airline? Thanks for your feedback!

Hi there, Yes, there’s nothing to worry about when it comes to safety. I’ve flown with them four times myself. The onboard services have slightly declined in quality over the past few years for economic reasons, but that’s also the case with many other airlines for the same reasons. They’re rated 4 stars* out of 5 on the reference site Skytrax: https://skytraxratings.com/airlines/malaysia-airlines-rating

In short, don’t hesitate to fly with Malaysia Airlines.

* same as Air France, British Airways, Lufthansa, Emirates, Thai Airways, and 67 other airlines

I asked myself the same question recently and checked out some reviews on Flight Report. Didn't really blow me away. Personally, I care a lot about the quality of the in-flight entertainment (IFE), and in one review, it said it broke down for the whole flight, and another had very few choices in French.

If that's not a dealbreaker for you, it's still a decent airline. 😉

hi, the thing about Asian airlines is that the flight attendants greet you with a smile. That’s not the case with so-called Anglo-Saxon airlines.

Hi there,

One thing about Asian airlines is that the flight attendants greet you with a smile.

Another thing: all 10 airlines rated 5 stars by Skytrax are Asian. https://skytraxratings.com/airlines?stars=5

Hi Carole,

When do you plan to book your tickets? I’m traveling for the first time on September 4th with Malaysia Airlines. If you’re not in a rush, I’ll be able to share my experience very soon.

Hi there,

Direct flight and great price 👍What else? No hesitation at all, even with the two major incidents in 2014 😕

That’s so true, and it really matters to have flight attendants who don’t pull a long face for 12 hours straight. 😉

Hi Jfm, it's true that being a flight attendant isn't easy. Being able to keep smiling at rude passengers isn't obvious. But I think the smiles worn by Asian-origin cabin crew are still spontaneous and natural.

Good evening,

But I still think the smile worn by the Asian-origin cabin crew is a spontaneous and natural smile.

Come on, come on, be a little serious. It’s the most artificial of them all.

I'm serious. The Malaysia Airlines staff are quite helpful unless things have changed. Have you traveled with this airline?
TA Tatra Globetrotter ·
Hello,

I took your comment as referring to all Asian airline staff, not specifically Malaysia, which I honestly don’t know much about.

Hey, don't lose sight of the fact that the cabin crew has to take care of all the passengers. If there are, say, 300 passengers on a long-haul flight per flight attendant, that's over 100 people each. And when you spend one minute per passenger, well, that adds up to... 300 minutes total. So that's why flight attendants have to quickly hand out the meal trays. I think I explained this on this forum

Hi, I’d love some feedback even though I’ve already bought the ticket. Thanks

Bon voyage.
