Dans le cadre de mon ecole, je dois faire un stage de 6 mois. J'ai trouve un stage, non-remunere, a l'universite d'Harvard. Ils me conseille de prendre un visa J1 et de passer par un organisme tel que CIEE ou CICD. Seulement, les visas J1 sur ces sites coutent dans les 1000$ (entre 550 et 950$). Seulement, apres avoir ete voir sur le site de l'ambassade americaine, dans la section visa->tarifs, je trouve ceci:

Non. Le visa B2 est un visa d'affaire, qui permet d'aller rencontrer des clients, prendre des commandes, assister / participer à des conférences, à des réunions dans le cadre du boulot, etc. En aucun cas il ne permet de faire un stage, même non rémunéré.

Savez vous ce qui justifie cette difference, car le prix passe presque du simple au double.
il faut comparer les prestations que les organismes 'offrent': parfois c'est le prix des assurances/mutuelles qui changent.
mais je confirme: pour stage aux US, il faut un visa J1, et c'est obligatoire de passer par un organisme aggree par les US (ex Parenthese paris, mais il y en a d'autres).
les organismes te delivreront un doc indispensable a presenter a l'ambassade (DS2019).
les frais de visa a l'ambassade sont a rajouttes aux frais des organismes (ca n'a rien a voir).

Fais très attention !!! Mon maitre de stage m'a dit qu'il pouvait me faire mon visa, donc quasiment gratuitement. J'ai dis ok, j'ai remplis le DS-7002, et il m'a dit d'attendre pour le DS-2019, ce que j'ai fait !! Un mois et demi plus tard, il me dit d'attendre encore mais je décide d'appeler le secrétariat pour avoir une idée de où ça en est. Résultat: ils n'ont aucune trace de moi nulle part !!! Mon maitre de stage me dit de faire un visa B1 donc. Ce que je fais, mais a l'ambassade ça coince !!! Ils gardent donc tous mes papiers (passeport, Chronopost, etc...) et me disent de renvoyer mon DS-7002, mon DS-2019 et mon SEVIS par la poste pour compléter mon dossier. Je contacte donc Parenthèse, qui veulent absolument une copie du passeport, que l'ambassade ne veut pas donner bien sûr !!! (c'est eux qui avaient mon passeport). Je leur demande donc de me renvoyer mon passeport pour envoyer une copie a Parenthèse, ce qui débloque mon dossier. Quelques semaines plus tard, je reçois mes documents, que je renvoi en Chronopost. Puis, plus de nouvelle, silence complet de la part de l'ambassade, pas moyen d'avoir quelqu'un, etc...
Plus tard j'apprend que mon visa est prêt depuis une semaine, mais qu'ils n'ont plus de Chronopost vu qu'ils l'on utilisé pour renvoyer mon passeport !!! Je vais donc a la poste pour poster un Chronopost par Chronopost, et a mon retour, un gars du consulat me demande pourquoi mon visa est toujours chez eux et que je les ai pas contacté !!!!
Je lui répond que j'ai envoyé plein de fax (évidemment c'était pas les bons numéro, alors que c'était ceux que l'ambassade m'avait donné, bref). Donc il me dit, bon ben je vous poste ça tout de suite par Chronopost (du coup ça servait a rien que j'en renvoi a l'ambassade).
Moralité: Faut faire gaffe quand on veut payer moins cher, on se fait souvent avoir. J'ai perdu 1 mois de stage a cause de ça!!!

j'ai eu des témoignages de gens qui ont payer que 450 ou 500 euros (parenthèse plus de 800 euros).
Et je ne trouve nul part les noms e ces autres organismes, s'il ont des agences en france...
j'en ai trouvé en suisse à 450 euros mais ils n'ont rien en france...
donc comme mon école ne les connais pas je doit m'en occuper toute seule...

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
