Ten dream days at Disney World in Florida

Hi there! Here’s my latest post in the series Walt Disney World! Today, I’m taking you to the water park Typhoon Lagoon. The Walt Disney World complex includes the four "classic" theme parks and two water parks—Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. When we were there, only Typhoon Lagoon was open, so that’s where we went, with no regrets about not having a choice! I decided to schedule this day at the end of the first week, which turned out to be a great call. After all the busy days of visiting different parks, exploring, and walking, this chill day did us a world of good. Though I say "chill day," we actually only spent half a day there because, not knowing the place well and not being used to it, we didn’t rush to find a shady spot when it opened. That meant at some point, the heat became hard to handle (and I’ll admit I didn’t do much research before the trip or on-site about whether we could rent a parasol or how to do it...). We’re also not huge beach or relaxation day fans, and with our little one, we couldn’t do too many activities, so we enjoyed the place but left around 3 PM to head to Disney Springs—the equivalent of our Disney Village (a spot with just shops, which we were happy to see, but we didn’t linger long since we’re not big on shopping!). Anyway... for this day, we take the bus that serves the water park and arrive without any issues, pretty early. We enter (the water park visit was included in our package), head to the changing cabins, and leave our stuff in a large locker (paid) for the day. Then we find a spot on the beach to leave our things and set off on an "expedition" to explore the park.

The park is big, and we wander around to check out the different activities (slides, pools, restaurants, shop) and see what we could do with our little one. Like at the hotel pools, life/flotation vests are freely available for kids—it’s really well thought out. There are also lifeguards everywhere, especially in the wave pool where we spent some time. This pool is huge, and regularly, you hear a loud noise and a massive wave forms!! It’s so much fun! With our little one, we stayed far from the wave, but you still have to be careful because even from a distance, the wave can be a bit strong for the smallest kids. That’s why the vests are great for them!

After swimming in the wave pool, we stroll around and do a bit more swimming in another large pool.

Next, we grab a big tube to ride Castaway Creek, a lazy river—that’s a water river with a gentle current that carries your tube while you relax on it, taking you around the park. Such a great time!

After that, we go grab some food before heading back for another round in the wave pool. As I mentioned earlier, since we’re not huge beach or relaxation fans, we decide to check out the shop before taking the return bus. We really enjoyed this long morning—we swam a lot and got some rest, but I think with older kids, you’d get even more out of the place since there are plenty of activities to do! And that wraps up our Disney World adventures. I hope you find what you’re looking for to plan your trip. If not, feel free to reach out via message or comment—I’d be happy to help.
