In the same vein, but in the mountains. Man facing the vastness of the mountain.

So beautiful! Thanks Florence.

Thanks for keeping this discussion alive with such beautiful photos! Have a great day.

We’ve now gotten into the habit of following the discussion. It’s nice and helps us learn a little more each time.

A photo from our first trip to Morocco!
MI Milo53 Regular ·
We should dedicate a post to Morocco’s donkeys... And by the way!
IN Indymalte Veteran ·
I’m sure there’s plenty to make a great collection!
HA Hannahannah Globetrotter ·
I think there’s already been a post with donkey photos.

TR Trostang Globetrotter ·
It’s totally possible, but we could still do it just for fun and keep digging through our photos.
DA Danouck Regular ·
So, who's up for it?
HA Hannahannah Globetrotter ·
Above Ait Mansour, on the small road that connects to the Tiznit road, there’s a lovely herd. They look like they’re wild.

There were definitely nomads around nearby!
HA Hannahannah Globetrotter ·
They’ve been there for years—I thought of digital nomads but never seen any in this area.

Following up on the donkeys... These ones are at the bottom of the Arganiers hostel. A dog that was with me kept its distance—wary little guy. A kick comes fast, after all! 😉

You’ve got to be careful with donkeys... Some can be aggressive. So, it's best to stay cautious.
HA Hannahannah Globetrotter ·
The dog, taken in by M’hajid, must have had that experience.

The donkey of Oukaimeden, in the middle of winter in the snow.
HA Hannahannah Globetrotter ·
He doesn’t have skis on his back ;)

Some of you may have already seen this, but I love this photo...

You may have already seen this one, but I love this photo...

This photo has so much charm, and the two donkeys too.
TR Trostang Globetrotter ·
And no skiing... But this resort was incredible 20 years ago... We have such great memories of it... We’ll have to go back. Everything has certainly changed.
DA Danouck Regular ·
A mode of transport now rivaled by the car.

A photo taken in the almond tree valley near the salt mine.
TR Trostang Globetrotter ·
This time it's not snow but salt!
DA Danouck Regular ·
You're right to point out it's salt because the clothing makes us think it's cold. And that the ground is snowy.

Tomorrow I'm leaving my very rainy Vendée for the Pyrénées Orientales, hoping for a bit more warmth and a little less rain... here are some photos in the meantime!

Guelmim Have a great day
TR Trostang Globetrotter ·
True, we weren't warm—it was May, but we were at high altitude.
TR Trostang Globetrotter ·
Thanks for all these photos where you can see how useful donkeys are in the daily lives of Moroccans.
SO Soju Veteran ·
Thanks Josyane. This photo of Guelmim brings back some lovely memories. We really liked this town. We found it had a very special charm and a unique atmosphere.

TR Trostang Globetrotter ·
Guelmim is the gateway to the desert. That’s what makes it such a unique city. I really like it.
TR Trostang Globetrotter ·
Just outside Ouarzazate, heading toward Skoura.

It's so colorful! Nice! !
TR Trostang Globetrotter ·
This one is nice too!

A little sad, this little donkey all decked out in flowers!
VE Vero3000 Regular ·
I think donkeys often look sad. Like the little gray donkey in the song...
TR Trostang Globetrotter ·
This story set in Provence is indeed sad! Donkeys aren’t always treated well. I remember seeing a documentary about mistreated donkeys near Fez, which were being cared for by a French veterinarian... It’s not easy being a donkey.
MI Milo53 Regular ·
Let’s get back to the unusual... Here, you can really say you’ve got your feet in the water!
BA Bakicessa ·
Hi Danouck, could you tell me where the Assounfou guesthouse is, please? Thanks for these beautiful photos!
DA Danouck Regular ·
The guesthouse is located 2 or 3 kilometers from Magdaz. We have very fond memories of it.
GL Gloglor1 Regular ·
Oh yeah! I saw the same thing in the Paradise Valley north of Agadir.
MI Milo53 Regular ·
That's where the photo was taken. But it must exist elsewhere...
DA Danouck Regular ·
Oh yeah! I saw the same thing in the Paradise Valley north of Agadir.

Me too. Funny setup!
MI Milo53 Regular ·
And refreshing.... Sometimes you get little fish swimming around your feet, hoping to find dead skin to nibble on!!!
DA Danouck Regular ·
Awesome!
MI Milorde Regular ·
I have some photos of those fish from Paradise Valley. I’ll try to dig them up.
FL Flo450 Regular ·
It’s a fun experience—the kids love it.
TR Trostang Globetrotter ·
And for relaxing, it's great!
VE Vero3000 Regular ·
Some people pay for this. They offer this kind of relaxation, small pools and fish... And you settle in for a little while to enjoy the benefits of cool water and the fish.
