Je vis depuis + de 10ans à Nouméa.
Pour ce qui est des prix des apparts, ils sont effectivement équivalents à ceux de la Cote d'azur. Globalement la vie est très cher en NC !!
Trouver un appart ne pose pas de problème ... si on accepte les tarifs de la place. Les plans pas chers sont rares (donc très convoités!!!). Ca marche au bouche à oreille, donc pas garantis. Pour débuter l'auberge de jeunesse est très bien (compter qd même env 100000 francs pacifique par mois (120 CFP = 1 euro). A long terme une petite location sera bien mieux. On peut trouver des gardiennages de maison ou bateau; mais c'est coup de chance.
On trouve du travail dans la restauration. Mais ce n'est pas très bien payé, et surtout il n'y a pas de pourboires en Calédonie. Dans le batiment c'est peut-être plus dur.
Essayer le portail "kaori.nc" (petites annonces).

Bonjour, je vois qu'on a répondu à vos questions, mais je vais vous parler de votre chien. Eviter à tout prix un vol qui passe par l'australie car il serait euthanasié !!!! Ensuite vous risquez de le laisser en quarantaine un petit moment à l'arrivée en NC (à cause des maladies qu'il n'y a pas ici). Je crois que tout ça a un cout. Renseignez-vous bien avant.
Les logements sont très chers, mais vous pouvez rester quelques mois à l'auberge de jeunesse le temps de trouver quelque chose. Pour les chambres communes c'est 1400 F CFP par jour par personne (24 euros).

Je ne sais pas quoi te dire de plus que ce que j'ai déjà dit à un autre pour faire venir un chien. Je pense qu'il faut sérieusement se renseigner aux services phyto avant le départ et mentionner l'escale de Sydney.
Connais-tu déjà la NC et le Mont Dore ? Pas de problèmes si tu as d'autres questions, j'essaierais d'y répondre.

nous avons 3 filles qui viendront avec nous (19-18 ans et 12 ans), mon fils de 22 ans ayant fait le choix de rester en métropole.

En tant que calédonienne j'ai emmené mon chien à Nouméa et je crois effectvement que tu manque cruellement d'information.
Tout d'abord, tu dois savoir que ton chien ne voyagera surement pas avec toi. En fait c'est le service phytosanitaire de Nouméa qui te delivre un permis d'importer ton chien et qui te donne une date pour son départ et ce ne sont que des vols Air France EXCLUSIVEMENT.
Il faut compter environ 3 mois pour faire toutes les formalités et il fera 30j minimum de quarantaine mais alors là je peux te dire qu'il sera très bien traité je le guarantie (je connais toutes les personnes qui s'occupent de la quarantaine).

je me suis renseignée, compte tenu du fait qu'il y a des quarantaines également au moment des escales, si mon chien voyage en soute avec nous, (Asutralie Japon, ou US) Air France m'a dit qu'il valait mieux que mon chien voyage en Frêt aérien .
Toutefois, j'ai consulté d'autres compagnies de fret aérien qu'Air France, car le prix de voyage est exhorbitant (2000 € pour A. FRANCE - 1500 pour une autre compagnie.)

Nous avons l'intention avec mon ami de partir d'ici 1 an 1/2 en Nouvelle Calédonie avec notre petite chienne. Je suis terriblement inquiète concernant ce voyage pour elle ainsi que la quarantaine. En effet, on entend parler de chose affreuses comme l'euthanasie des animaux qui font une escale en Australie, le mauvais traitement des chiens en quarantaine et le nombre trés important de chiens qui y meurent. Est-ce que tout ceci est vrai?
Je n'ai aucune idée de la façon dont se passe cette quarantaine. Peut-on venir voir notre animal plus d'une fois par mois ou alors appeler pour avoir des nouvelles autant de fois qu'on le souhaite?
Est-on informé si notre chien ne suporte pas la séparation et se laisse mourir par exemple ou est-ce que la chose se fait dans l'indifférence complète?

pour répondre à ta question : pourquoi le MOnt Dore, nous sommes tombés amoureux de cette région pour les bouchons tant pis. nous prendrons le temps qu'il faut, notre installation définitive c'est un rêve vieux de 10 ans qui se concrétise donc nous prendrons la vie du bon côté.
