Going on a Farmstay in Argentina or Peru with WEP

Hi everyone,

WEP offers loads of different projects, including one I really like: helping and volunteering on a farm, particularly in South America (Peru or Argentina).

I’d love to know if anyone has tried this project or knows someone who has... or has done something similar? I’d like to get some feedback before diving into the adventure.

If so, could you share your thoughts on the project, any tips, etc.?

Thanks to anyone who replies!

Cheers,

I have exactly the same plan as you!

I’m more interested in Peru, but they specify that the stay has no running water, no electricity, and no way to contact the outside world, and I’ll admit that scares me a little. So I think I’ll go with Argentina instead.

When do you plan to go?

Hi there,

I just set up a project like this in the Ayacucho region—I can send you details about our farm if you'd like.

In the meantime, you can check out our website:

See you soon!

Hi there,

I’m replying to your message a few years late, but who knows—maybe it’ll help others looking to do volunteer work.

Personally, I always avoid commercial volunteer organizations and prefer volunteer associations: it’s much cheaper and sometimes even free!

If you want to do international volunteering in Argentina or elsewhere, here are a few associations I’ve tried:

https://www.nvda.org (for Asia) https://www.sjvietnam.org (Vietnam) https://adice.asso.fr/ (international association based in Lille) https://www.servicevolontaire.fr (generalist association)

There are others, but always double-check whether they’re real associations or disguised businesses.
