Je suis enseignant en collège et j'envisage de demander une mutation pour la Polynésie. Le problème c'est que je ne peux pas aller n'importe où. En effet, j'ai deux enfants et il faut absolument la proximité d'un lycée. Dans l'archipel des Iles sous le vent, il y a un lycée à Uturoa sur l'île de Raiatea.
Je peux, bien évidemment être affecté sur l'un des 2 collèges de cette île.
Ma question est la suivante :
Est-il envisageable de prendre tous les jours de la semaine la navette maritime entre Raiatea et Huahine ou entre Raiatea et Bora Bora, afin d'aller travailler ?
Combien de temps durent ces trajets ?
Je n'ai aucune idée de la distance entre ces îles et n'ai trouvé aucune info à ce sujet.
La réponse est NON ! Il n'est pas envisageable de prendre une navette entre Bora et Raiatea quotidiennement, dans la mesure où, le Maupiti express ne fait la navette que le lundi, mercredi vendredi et dimanche.
Départ de Bora à 07h00 arrivée Raiatea 08h30. Puis départ de Raiatea 16h00 arrivée Bora 17h30 en comptant une petite escale à Tahaa. Ca, ce sont les horaires quand tout va bien. Car, il faut compter avec la houle.. Et il est préférable de ne pas être sujet au mal de mer. Ca secoue pas mal!! Parfois le bateau ne part pas du tout.
De Huahine pour rejoindre Raiatea seules les goélettes Hawaiki Nui et le Vaeanu assurent des liaisons à des horaires pas du tout compatibles avec votre situation. L'idéal pour vous, si vous voulez être à proximité d'un lycée c'est de demander une mutation à Raiatea ou Papeete. Si vous n'avez pas d'autre choix que Bora ou Huahine il faudra penser à l'internat pour vos enfants, ce qui sera un changement radical pour eux, je suppose.

Non, à oublier ! elles ne sont pas quotidiennes.

De toutes façons trop long quand on n'est pas là en vacances ; sans compter l'état de la mer. 😉
Il n'y a qu'entre Tahiti et Moorea que les liaisons maritimes sont fiables, régulières et quotidiennes (+ou- 30 mn).
Par rapport à la scolarité de vos enfants, il ne reste que la solution de l'internat si vous souhaitez vivre sur une autre île que Raiatea ou Tahiti.
Le guide papier Lonely Panet répertorie tous les transports inter-îles (entre autres). A vous procurer absolument et à vous plonger dans sa lecture pour appréhender l'environnement polynésien.
😮 il vous est possible d'habiter sur l'île de Tahaa, dans le même lagon que Raiatea. Bora et Huahine sont trop chères comme destinations pour tous les jours, mais éloignées de 20 et 30 km d'Uturoa.
A ce moment là, est-il possible de scolariser mes enfants à Raiatea en internat et qu'il prennent la navette pour Bora Bora ou Huahine le vendredi soir ou samedi matin, pour passer la fin de semaine avec moi, et repartir le dimanche soir pour Raiatea.
Est-ce envisageable ?
L'enseignement par le CNED, à vrai dire, pas vraiment. Je pense que se retrouver nouvel arrivant sur une ile sans le milieu scolaire pour se faire des amis, cela risque d'être dur pour eux !
Je ne rejette pas complètement l'idée mais je vais quand même me renseigner pour l'internat.
Les enfants peuvent se faire des amis sans avoir à passer obligatoirement par une école, non?
Ne se font-ils pas d'amis pendant les vacances scolaires?
Perso, je trouve bête de limiter le choix de sa résidence à l'emplacement d'une école, surtout
quand on sait qu'un enseignement à distance peut parfois être plus efficace qu'un enseignement
dit "normal". Bien sûr, si vous n'avez ni le temps ni la patience de participer activement à leur
enseignement, c'est plus difficile.
Il n'y a pas que le coté enseignement à l'école, il y a aussi le coté social, qui pour les ados est plus important encore.
Je suis enseignant (en Guyane) et cette année une élève, qui justement suivait les cours du CNED, est arrivée dans une de mes classes et elle en était très contente, car elle n'avait pas d'amis et s'ennuyait ferme chez elle.
Mes enfants adorent l'école et ont un réseau d'amis à travers l'école. Je pense pas qu'ils aprécieraient l'idée de ne plus y aller. C'est pour cela que je privilégie l'internat à l'enseignement à distance.

Lorsque nos amis qui habitaient Bora avaient leur fils scolarisé à Raiatea, celui-ci prenait effectivement une navette le vendredi soir pour rentrer sur Bora et repartait de Bora pour Raiatea le dimanche soir. Mais j'ignore avec qui... Aremiti ? Maupiti Express ?
Pour Huahine, je ne sais pas... mais sans doute faisable également. Voir sur Google et prendre éventuellement des contacts téléphoniques.
En fait, c'est sur place que vous règlerez votre quotidien. Très difficile à distance car les mails envoyés restent souvent sans réponse. Il y a disons une certaine nonchalance, un "flou artistique" en Polynésie quelque peu déroutant de prime abord 😉 Mais bon c'est ainsi, il faut définitivement oublier tout côté speedé et "faire avec". 🙂
Avez-vous fait une recherche ici, sur VF, pour lire les messages déjà postés concernant une installation en Polynésie (onglet rechercher, en haut à gauche) ?
Pour le coté "speedé", cela n'existe pas ici! J'habite à Matoury non loin de Cayenne et le flou artistique dont vous me parlez, me rappelle étrangement l'inertie locale !

Il n'y a que le Maupiti Express qui assure la liaison Bora-Raiatea aux horaires que je vous ai donnés. Je ne comprends pas la personne qui vous conseille d'habiter Tahaa. Si j'ai bien compris, vous souhaitez demander Bora comme affectation et le problème, c'est le lycée pour vos enfants. Donc, je ne vois pas le rapport de vivre à Tahaa où il n'y a pas de collège. Ceci dit, les internes venant de Bora ont aussi la possibilité de faire le trajet en fin de semaine en avion. 15 mn. Seulement je n'en connais pas les conditions. Un abonnement peut-être. J'ai souvent pris l'avion le dimanche soir de Bora et il y avait pas mal de gamins qui rentraient sur Raiatea. Le bateau c'est bien, mais comme je vous ai dit, il ne faut pas avoir le mal de mer. Parfois lorsqu'il y a trop de houle le trajet est annulé!!
Pour ce qui est de Huahine, il n'y a pas d'autres liaisons que l'avion. Les goélette style Taporo VII et Hawaiki nui ont des horaires tout à fait incompatibles et ne prennent que 3 à 4 passagers par île. C'est une question de sécurité, ce sont des bateaux mixtes. Et depuis 1 an les motoi (policiers) sont très vigilants car il y a eu des abus.
Kikounet : Tout d'abord, merci pour les infos. Je ne souhaite pas spécialement aller à Bora Bora, je veux juste aller en polynésie ! Il me faut juste un lycée à proximité. Si je n'avais pas cette contrainte, je mettrai comme voeux toute la Polynésie. Mais ce n'est pas possible.
Pour ce qui est de Tahaa, il y a effectivement un collège, puisqu'il apparaît dans les voeux sur le site du ministère de l'éducation nationale.
Autant pour moi, il y a longtemps que je n'ai plus d'enfants au collège et mes petits enfants sont encore en primaire et maternelle.
Pour ce qui est des liaisons Tahaa Raiatea la traversée dure 20 mn. 2 cie:

Dép Tahaa/ Uturoa: du lundi au vendredi 05h30 et 11h40, 1 seule rotation le samedi à 05h30

TE MAERE MARU
Dép Tahaa/Uturoa: du lundi au vendredi 05h50 et 12h00- le vendredi une rotation supplémentaire au départ de Tiva à 15h00_ le samedi départ de Tapuamu à 05h10
Ret Uturoa/ Tahaa 10h30 et 16h30 sauf le samedi uniquement 10h30.
Il y a aussi le taxi boat qui fait la navette de l'aéroport mais je ne connais pas les horaires.
Voilàa, si j'ai un conseil à vous donner et si vous en avez la possibilité demandez Raiatea, ça vous posera moins de problèmes ainsi qu'à vos enfants. Raiatea c'est paisible et plutôt sympa, où il fait bon vivre.

je voie difficilement faire la navette entre huahine et raiatea ; il n'ya pas de bateaux tous les jours et l'avion est excessif.
De plus, tous les élèves habitant huahine sont à l'internat à Raiatea.
Il faudrait même que votre habitation soit proche du lycée pour éviter les embouteillages et même y aller à pieds.
