Mon mari a l'opportunite d'aller travailler a Nuku Hiva(il est infirmier anesthesiste).Nous avons 3 enfants(12 &ns, 9 ans et 6 ans) et nous aimerions avoir des renseignements sur la vie pratique la-bas:ecoles, college, activites possibles.

Je suis prof au collège de Nuku-Hiva et je peux essayer de répondre à certaines de tes questions. Il y a donc un collège (par conséquent...), qui accueille aussi une classe de seconde. Il y a une école primaire, bien-sûr, tout ça à Taiohae, la "ville" principale.
Les paysages sont magnifiques, mais il ne faut perdre de vue que c'est tout de même un endroit isolé (3 h 30 d'avion de Papeete...) où l'on ne trouve pas toujours de tout... La vie est un peu plus chère qu'ailleurs (loyer, prix des produits, téléphone, Internet...) éloignement oblige, mais sans vraiment d'excès. C'est, je pense, un super endroit pour vivre en famille, les gosses en plein air, et aussi l'occasion de faire des choses que l'on ne ferait pas ailleurs : de la voile, de la rando, visiter le Polynésie (of course), de la pêche...
De plus, si ton mari a l'opportunité d'avoir un poste à l'hopital, c'est (d'après ce que j'ai entendu dire...) un endroit où les gens aiment travailler et où ils se sentent bien, je crois.

Quel est le rytme scolaire?

Alors pour le climat il me semble plutôt chaud, voire très chaud... Un peu de pluie de temps en temps, mais en tant que normand je peux te dire que ça n'a rien à voir avec la Bretagne !
Pour la maison le pb est la disponibilité... C'est tout petit ici et il faut qu'il y ait une maison libre ! Les loyers devraient être dans les mêmes eaux (un peu moins...) pour des maisons meublées de qualité "moyenne".
Pour le thème : "vivre en famille à Nuku-Hiva" je ne peux pas te dire grand chose, mais je te donne le mail d'un camarade qui vit là bas avec femme et enfants et qui se fera une joie de te répondre

je suis allé en vacances a nuku hiva en juin 2008. je me suis présenté a la cadre de l'hopital de nuku hiva étant aide soignante a Mamao a PAPEETE.
NUKU HIVA est un tout petit village et le plus grand. il n'y a pas grand chose a faire. a par de l'équitation, ballade, rando et profiter du tps qui passe ou ne rien faire. c'est très bien qd on a envie de se retirer du monde.
d'ailleurs vous pouvez peut-être me renseigner. lors de ma visite a nuku hiva. la cadre m'a proposé un poste et m'a donné son adresse email que j'ai perdu. pouriez vous me la transmettre pour que je puisse correspondre avec elle. merci beaucoup et vous verrez nuku hiva est superbe et très sauvage.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
